Abstract:A receding horizon optimal control law is proposed in this paper based on a given stable generalized predictive controller(SGPC) configuration.Obtained by optimizing the objective function over the future reference signals,this control law can track with zero offset the constant set point.The sufficient condition is also given to ensure the closed-loop stability.Finally,numerical simulations are performed to show that the presented SGPC gnarantees the closed-loop system to be free from steady-state error and is applicable to the plant with zeros and poles which can be nearly cancelled.

Abstract:Most plants are nonlinear in practice, the proper T-S fuzzy model is obtained by a recursive fuzzy identification method to describe the real complex nonlinear systems. First, a fuzzy-clustering algorithm is used to competitively learn the centers of the input-areas online. Second, the radii of input areas are determined based on the superposed degree of the predetermined rules, while the parameters in the inference can be achieved by the RLS algorithm, then the fuzzy local linear model can be used as the CARIMA model at every instant to predict the output of the plant. Finally, a tuning algorithm for PID controller parameters is presented based on the idea of generalized predictive control (GPC) and the relation between the GPC and PID controller. The optimal index includes the weighting term of the square of error between the predicted process steady-state value and the desired-state value. The stability of the system has also been studied. The simulation results both in theory and a paper pulp process show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
Novel Robust Predictive Control Algorithm Based on Closed-Loop Optimization

Abstract:A novel robust predictive control scheme was presented for constrained linear time-varying systems with polytopic uncertainty. Compared with other similar methods, it has the following characteristics. Firstly, the min-max optimal control problem is formulated using the discretized uncertain models and the state feedback mechanism is also introduced directly to it. Thus more freedom is added to the constrained optimal problem and the feasible region is effectively enlarged. Secondary, the minimization object is the cost on the whole predictive horizon, not the sum of the upper bounds of stepwise cost. This leads to a notable reduction in number of equations pertaining to min-max optimization. Furthermore , the robust stability is proved to depend on the feasibility of the optimization problem at the initial time and the optimization problem is formulated in terms of LMls. Finally, a numerical example was used to verify the effectiveness of the presented method.

Abstract:Based on a transport partial differential equation representation of input delay, this paper deals with the classic problem of trajectory tracking for uncertain linear time-delay systems under partial state measurement, plant parameter and actuator delay adaptation. An implementable output feedback control strategy is proposed and a recent restriction on relative degree is removed. The Lyapunov-based analysis shows the local stability of the closed-loop error system.

Abstract:Necessary and sufficient condition for robust H∞ control of dynamic interval systems is proposed. This robust H∞ controller guarantees not only the quadratic stability of the closed-loop systems but also the disturbance attenuation within a prescribed level in the H∞-norm sense. The results are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities. The illustrative example shows that this method is effective to obtain the robust H∞ controller for dynamic interval systems.

Abstract:An adaptive predictive functional control method for a class of discrete nonlinear systems is presented by changing the nonlinear model into an equivalent time varying linear model.RLS algorithm is used to identify the time-varying coefficients.The structure of this method is similar to classic PI optimal controller.Its control performance and robustness are superior to traditional predictive functional control methods which only consider output errors.Simulation results show that it is better than classic PI optimal controller.

Abstract:An extended state space predictive control method for a class of discrete nonlinear systems is presented by extending the nonlinear model and by using the local linearization of nonlinear function along the reference trajectory. The structure of this method is similar to classic PI optimal controller and possesses a feed-forward control of future P-step setpoints. It considers both the state variations and the output errors in the cost function and thus is superior to methods which only consider output errors. Simulation results show its efficiency.

Abstract:A nonlinear generalized predictive control algorithm based on a Hammerstein model with long range predictive identification is presented. The prediction used by the controller is also employed by the identification criterion, which makes the identification combine with the control scheme natually. A new cost function is used in the generalized predictive controller design. The resulted control algorithm makes the system robust to uncertain plant order.

Abstract:The satisfactory predictive control for complex system is studied. By introducing commanding input and the membership degrees of the predictive output errors between the predictive outputs and their setpoints, the satisfactory predictive control algorithm is improved. Using the satisfactory control algorithm presented in this paper, it cannot only avoid the solving of Diophantine equation for calculating the predictive output, but also deal with the setpoint control problem and horizon control problem, while the hard constraints are guaranteed, the soft constraints and the output tracking are satisfied as much as possible. The simulation results verify the validity.

Abstract:This paper presents a novel modification and insights in the topic of predictive functional control (PFC). Of particular interest is the consistency between the predictions deployed by PFC and the desired closed-loop behaviour. This paper focuses on integrator systems which pose some challenges to a conventional PFC algorithm and compares and contrasts two simple alternative but very effective modifications (one of which is novel) which enable better consistency of predictions and thus enable easier tuning and more reliable closed-loop behaviour. These insights are used to give some conclusions and proposals for how more challenging dynamics might be handled.

Abstract:An efficient algorithm is proposed for computing the solution to the constrained finite time optimal control （CFTOC） problem for discrete-time piecewise affine （PWA） systems with a quadratic performance index. The maximal positively invariant terminal set, which is feasible and invariant with respect to a feedback control law, is computed as terminal target set and an associated Lyapunov function is chosen as terminal cost. The combination of these two components guarantees constraint satisfaction and closed-loop stability for all time. The proposed algorithm combines a dynamic programming strategy with a multi-parametric quadratic programming solver and basic polyhedral manipulation. A numerical example shows that a larger stabilizable set of states can be obtained by the proposed algorithm than precious work.

Abstract:The synthesis problem of reliable robust control for a class of dynamic systems is considered.A practical and general faults model with sensor,actuator is addressed.A necessary and sufficient condition of D-stability is presented,based on which a sufficient condition of existence of the reliable H_∞controller is given for the case of sensor,actuator failures.The reliable H_∞controller is designed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs),which guarantees the closed-loop to be D-stable and possesses H_∞performance when all control components are operational as well as some control components experience failures.Finally,a numerical example is given to illustrate the design procedures and the effectiveness.

Abstract:Robustly stable multi-step-ahead model predictive control (MPC) based on parallel support vector machines (SVMs) with linear kernel was proposed. First, an analytical solution of optimal control laws of parallel SVMs based MPC was derived, and then the necessary and sufficient stability condition for MPC closed loop was given according to SVM model, and finally a method of judging the discrepancy between SVM model and the actual plant was presented, and consequently the constraint sets, which can guarantee that the stability condition is still robust for model/plant mismatch within some given bounds, were obtained by applying small-gain theorem. Simulation experiments show the proposed stability condition and robust constraint sets can provide a convenient way of adjusting controller parameters to ensure a closed-loop with larger stable margin.

Abstract:The control problem for a class of differential inclusion system with prespecified time domain performances of output was considered. The system may be converted to the nonlinear uncertain system with output constraints. Based on practical stability theory, the control problem of the system was analyzed. The design method of the nonlinear robust controller with specific time domain performance was given. The conditions of strongly practical robust stability for the system is to satisfy a series of parameter conditions and linear matrix inequalities. The simulation results have shown that the dynamic response of the closed loop system has reached time domain performance of the original design.

Abstract:The design and structure of generalized predictive control (GPC) are not simple and intuitive. The performance analysis does not deeply analyze how the controller parameters affect the system characteristics and the relationship between the tracking error caused by the noise and the selected controller parameters. This paper proposes a generalized predictive control, and its design is simple and intuitive for unnecessary solving the Diophantine equation. Then the relationship between desired output, disturbance, and system output is analyzed by the characteristic equation and steady-state analysis. Based on this, the study presents research findings on the steady state of the system and verifies them through simulations. Furthermore, this paper introduces GPC with disturbance compensation and incremental generalized minimum variance control (IGMVC) with disturbance compensation. The conditions for the elimination of disturbance are presented in theory and simulation for the first time.

Abstract:The stability condition of a class of hybrid dynamic systems is discussed.The characteristic of this class of hybrid dynamic systems is that a center controller controls N continuous plants in sharing time manner.The plants are described by differential equations.Event feedback strategy is used as the real-time scheduling policy such that only one plant is chosen to be controlled by the controller at any time.The main result of this paper is as follows:First,a discrete time system derived from the hybrid dynamic system with event feedback scheduling strategy is introduced,and it is shown that the stability of hybrid dynamic system is equivalent to that the state of the derived discrete time system tends to negative infinite.Based on this fact,a new proof of an existing stability condition is presented.Then,a conjecture as a new stability condition is proposed.It is showed that the conjecture holds in certain special cases.Finally,two numeric examples are presented to support the conjecture in general case.

Abstract:The problem of adaptive generalized predictive control which consists of output prediction errors for a class of switched systems is studied. The switching law is determined by the output predictive errors of a finite number of subsystems. For the single subsystem and multiple subsystems cases, it is proved that the given direct algorithm of generalized predictive control guarantees the global convergence of the system. This algorithm overcomes the inherent drawbacks of the slow convergence and large transient errors for the conventional adaptive control.
