Abstract:In the title compound, [Zn(C7H6N2) 2(C4H4O5)], one oxydiacetate dianion and two benzimidazole molecules coordinate to the ZnII atom in distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry. Abstract:Four complexes of Mn(Ⅲ)with dianion of bis(benzoylacetone)diimine(abbrev.bzacen2-)and organic bases:Mn(bzacen)LClO4,where L is pyrazine,pyridine,γ-methylpyridIne and acetonitrile, have been synthesized.The crystal structure of [Mn(bzacen)(CH3CN)ClO4]has been determined by X-ray diffraction method. The crystal is orthohom-bic with a=0.9077(1)nm,b=1.5563(1)nm,c=1.7205(2)nm,V=2.4305nm3,Z=4,Dc=1.48g/cm3,Dm=1.49g/cm3;space group Pnma. The compound has an elongated octahedralstructure. The electronic spectra and infrared spectra of the compounds have been assigned.

Abstract:In the title compound, [Zn(C7H5O3)2(C7H6N2)2]·0.25H2O, the ZnII atom is coordinated by two 4-hydroxybenzoate anions and two benzimidazole (bzim) molecules, resulting in a distorted ZnO2N2 tetrahedral geometry. The short face-to-face distance of 3.28 (4) Å between parallel partially overlapped bzim ligands of neighboring molecules indicates the existence of π–π stacking in the crystal structure.

Abstract:The title complex has been prepared and its crystal structure determined by X-ray diffraction methods. The Mn (II) complex is seven coordinate with two benzimidazole (bimid)ligands in axial positions and two succinate and one bimid ligands in the equatorial plane. The succinate bridges Mn (II) atoms to form polymeric chains, linked by intermolecular H-bonding. Free bimid molecules occur in the crystal structure; they link Mn (II) complexes with H-bonds involving N atoms. Aromatic stacking between bimid rings is observed, resulting in a gauche confirmation of succinate in the structure. The I R spectrum is assigned based on the crystal structure. The difference of 139 cm(-1) between symmetric and asymmetric stretching vibrations of carboxyl groups is in line with seven coordination at the Mn (II) atom.

Abstract:Two complexes of zinc (II) with mixed-ligand, [Zn2(phen)2(HL1)2] (ClO4)2 (1) and [Zn2(phen)2(HL2)2] (ClO4)2(2) (H2L1N–(2-hydroxybenzyl) ethanolamine and H2L2=N–(2-hydroxybenzyl) propanolamine), and another zinc complex ZnL1 (3) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, thermal analysis, fluorescence and 1H NMR. The crystal structure of (1) has a centrosymmetric di-phenoxo-bridged dizinc (II) core and each zinc center is laid in a slightly distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry. A 2D supramolecular structure is formed approximately along bc plane in terms of the action of multiple N–H⋯O and O–H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the (HL1)− ligands and the π⋯π stacking interactions between the phenanthroline ligands. Thermal behavior, studied by TG and DTA in nitrogen atmosphere, indicates that phen is eliminated at higher temperature than (HL1)− and (HL2)−. Several possible mechanisms for the fluorescence quenching of the metal complexes are proposed.

Abstract:The title compound [Zn-2(2,3,2-tet)(2)(Im)] (ClO4)(3) (C17H43Cl3N10O12Zn2, 2,3,2-tet = N,N'-bis(2-aminoethyl)propane-1,3-diamine, Im = imidazolate anion) consists of an imidazolate-N,N'-bridged binuclear cation and three perchlorate anions. The complex crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2 with a 12.038(8), b 12.245(8), c 11.902(3) Angstrom, beta 108.00(5)degrees, V 1668.6(15) Angstrom(3). The coordination geometry at each zinc(II) centre is approximately square-pyramidal. The Zn ... Zn separation is 6.114(9) Angstrom. Cyclic voltammetry shows two irreversible cathodic waves at -1.00 and -1.08 V/s.c.e., which clearly indicates that coordination of the strong-field ligands provides significant stability to the zinc(II) centre in the title complex.

Abstract:A novel zinc complex [Zn(BIB)(bdc)] n (1, BIB = 1,3-bis(imidazol-1-yl) benzene, bdc = 1,3-benzenedicarboxylate) has been synthesized in solvothermal conditions. The title complex was characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, thermal analysis, single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction. The result proved that the alliance of BIB and aromatic carboxylic acids is good for the diversity of getatable structure. Complex 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic system of P2/c space group with a = 11.5591(10), b = 9.6239(8), c = 33.727(3)angstrom, beta = 103.816(3)degrees, V = 3643.4(5)angstrom(3), Z = 8, mu = 1.385 mm(-1), F(000) = 1792, Dc = 1.603 g/cm(3) and Mr = 439.72 g/mol. Additionally, luminescent properties of complex 1 are also investigated and it shows good fluorescence.

Abstract:A novel tetranuclear zinc(II) complex [Zn4Br4L2(H2L)], where L and H2L are the dianionic and zwitterionic forms of N,N′-bis(2-hydroxy-5-methoxybenzylidene)propane-1,3-diamine, is prepared and structurally characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectrum, and single crystal X-ray crystallography. The complex crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c, with unit cell dimensions a = 38.338(2) Å, b = 10.5662(5) Å, c = 17.4607(8) Å, β = 113.767(2)°, V = 6473.3(6) Å3, Z = 4, R 1 = 0.0686, and wR 2 = 0.1752. The inner Zn atoms are five-coordinated in a square pyramidal geometry, and the outer Zn atoms are four-coordinated in a tetrahedral geometry. The intramolecular Zn⋯Zn distance is 3.103(1) Å.

Abstract:The new compound was synthesized by the reaction of ZnCl2 and triadimefon (ratio 1: 2) in ethanol solution refluxing for 6 hours. The crystal used for X-ray analysis was obtained by slow evaporation of the solution at room temperature. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P2/ n. In the complex, the Zn (II) cation is tetrahedrally coordinated to two triadimefon ligands and two chloride in cis disposition. The title complex was also characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, IR and TG-DTA.

Abstract:The stability constants of Zn(II) complexes with N,N " -bis-(2-hydroxybenzyl)-diethylenetriamine(H2L) were determined by potentiometric pH titration at 25 degreesC and at 0.1 M KNO3 ionic strength. A neutral complex ZnL was synthesized. In addition to IR, and H-1 NMR spectra, its structure was established by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal is orthorhombic, of space group Pbca, with cell constants a = 17.865(4), b = 20.079(4), c = 9.598(2) Angstrom, z = 8 and D-c = 1.461g.m(-3). The structure was solved and refined to R = 0.049 (R-omega = 0.054). The coordination geometry around the zinc ion is trigonal-bipyramidal with a large distortion, exhibiting two nonequivalent phenolates.

Abstract:The complex [Zn(pbp)2](ClO4)2 [pbp=N-(1-(2-pyrid-2-yl)benzoylidene)1,3propanediamine] was obtained by reaction of 2-benzoylpyridine and 1,3-propane diamine with zinc perchlorate in ethanol. A single crystal X-ray study shows that the complex is monomeric with the zinc atom coordinated by six nitrogen atoms from two singly neutral tridentate ligands to form a distorted octahedral geometry. The Zn—N bond lengths range from 2.070(5) to 2.123(6) Å.

Abstract:Reaction of dipyridine zincthiocyanate, Zn(py)(2)(NCS)(2), with tris-(2-pyridyl)phosphane, P(py)(3), in methanol solution yielded the zinc complex [Zn(P(py)(3))(2)][Zn(NCS)(4)]. A structure determination of the title compound showed that it is composed of a [Zn(P(py)(3))(2)](2+) complex cation, one [Zn(NCS)(4)](2-) anion and a solvent molecule. The complex cation has octahedral geometry with six pyridine N donor atoms and the anion has tetrahedral geometry with four thiocyanate N donor atoms.

Abstract:A novel zinc(II) complex [Zn(L)2(H2O) 2](CH3COO)2·2H2O (1) was obtained by self-assembly of tripodal ligand 1,3,5-tris(1-imidazolyl)benzene (L) with Zn(CH3COO)2·2H2O. The structure of the complex was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. Crystal data for 1 monoclinic, P21/n, a = 0.8339(1) nm, b = 1.2209(2) nm, c = 1.7565(3) nm, β = 94.880(3)°, Z = 2, V = 1.7819(5) nm3, Dc = 1.383 g/cm3, μ = 1.505 mm-1, F(000) = 1560, R 1 = 0.0429, wR2 = 0.0713. The complex has two-dimensional network structure. The acetate anions occupy the vacancy between the 2D layers and can be exchanged by other anions such as nitrate.

Synthesis and Reactivity in Inorganic Metal-Organic and Nano-Metal Chemistry

Abstract:A novel tetranuclear zinc(II) complex, [Zn4L4]center dot 2H2O, has been synthesized from a Schiff base ligand 2-{[1-(4-diethylamino-2-hy- droxyphenyl)methylidene]amino}-2-ethylpropane-1,3-diol (H2L). The structure of the complex was characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectrum, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal belongs to the tetragonal system, space group I41/a with a = b = 16.2579(1), c = 26.6376(3) angstrom, V = 7040.83(10) angstrom 3, Z = 4, Dc = 1.384g/cm3, Mr = 1467.00, = 2.080mm1, F(000) = 3088, R = 0.0499, and wR = 0.1516. A total of 3,429 unique reflections were collected, of which 2,923 with I > 2 sigma(I) were observed. The complex possesses crystallographic two-fold rotation axis symmetry, with the axis passes through the two water molecules and the centre of the cubane core formed by the four Zn atoms. Each Zn atom is penta-coordinated in a distorted square pyramidal geometry. The adjacent Zn center dot center dot center dot Zn distances are 3.065(1) and 3.163(1) angstrom. In the crystal, the tetranuclear zinc complex molecules are linked by water molecules through intermolecular OH center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the bc plane. Abstract:Due to their strong coordination ability and the diversities of their coordination modes, N-heterocyclic organic compounds are used extensively as ligands for the construction of complexes with fascinating structures and potential applications in many fields. Two new complexes, namely bis{1-[(benzotriazol-1-yl)methyl]-1H-imidazole-κN3}dibromidozinc(II), [ZnBr2(C10H9N5)2], (I), and bis{1-[(benzotriazol-1-yl)methyl]-1H-imidazole-κN3}diiodidozinc(II), [ZnI2(C10H9N5)2], (II), have been synthesized by reaction of the unsymmetrical N-heterocyclic ligand 1-[(benzotriazol-1-yl)methyl]-1H-imidazole (bmi) with Zn(acetate)2in the presence of KBr or KI. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis shows that both complexes exhibit a mononuclear structure, in which the bmi ligands coordinate to the central metal ion in a monodentate mode. In the solid state, both complexes possess a three-dimensional network formed by hydrogen bonds and π–π interactions. In addition, the IR spectroscopic properties, PXRD patterns and fluorescence properties of both complexes have been investigated.
