Abstract:Mechanisms for the Csp-H silylation between prop-2-yn-1-ylcyclohexane and triethylsilane, catalyzed by MOH/MH (M=Li, Na, or K), were investigated with M06-L-D3/ma-def2-svp level. SMD model was applied to simulate the solvent effect of ethylene glycol dimethyl ether (DME). The computational results suggest that the Csp-H activation of prop-2-yn-1-ylcyclohexane can be successfully achieved by MOH to generate R-C≡C-M compounds, which continues to react with triethylsilane to yield final product (3-cyclohexylprop-1-yn-1-yl)triethylsilane. Moreover, the Gibbs free energy surface analysis of the three reactions concludes that the path with the participation of LiOH has the highest energy barrier, according with experimental results of only a little product. The obtained KH could easily interact with H2O molecule with a much lower energy barrier of 0.6 kcal/mol, rather than the path with prop-2-yn-1-ylcyclohexane. Furthermore, compared to MOH, MH also can catalyze the reaction with lower energy barriers and the reactions become exothermic, benefiting to the reaction. Finally, the mechanism for byproduct (prop-1-yn-1-ylcyclohexane) has also been calculated and the results conclude that it has a higher energy barrier than the path to yield main product. Frontier orbital, noncovalent interactions(NCI), Fukui function and dual descriptor analysis can be used to analyze the structure and reveal the reaction substances.
