Numerical Simulation of Self-Seeding for Timing Jitter Reduction in A Gain-Switched Distribution Feedback Laser

Abstract:Self-seeding for timing jitter reduction in a gain-switched distribution feedback laser is simulated numerically. Timing jitter reduction related to delay time and intensity of self-seeding is calculated. Two important conclusions are obtained about the timing window for jitter reduction by self-seeding and the regime of intensity of self-seeding (0.1% - 5%), which agree well with the experimental result.
