Abstract:Predictive control is a suitable control method for largelag thermal process, and with great potential in thermal engineering control system in power plant. The background, principle, characters of predictive control were introduced and discussed in this paper. Some main research results in predictive control algorithm, and the combining with other control method and their control performances in recent years were also presented. In addition, the research works on application of predictive controller in power plant thermal process control system were reviewed. The existing problems and research directions were indicated. Both theoretical study and practical application prove that predictive control can be applied to thermal processing control and get better control quality, and its application is effective and practicable and with broad prospects.
