Abstract:We discuss some properties of the chain variations for non-additive set functions, such as the null-additivity, exhaustivity, order continuity and continuity. The Jordan decomposition theorem is also presented and proved for signed lower semicontinuous fuzzy measures.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the following improved Vitali–Hahn–Saks measure convergence theorem: Let (L, 0, 1) be a Boolean algebra with the sequential completeness property, (G, τ) be an Abelian topological group, ν be a nonnegative finitely additive measure defined on L, {μn: n∈ N} be a sequence of finitely additive s-bounded G-valued measures defined on L, too. Abstract:A novel concept, called nonadditive set-valued measure, is first defined as a monotone and continuous set function. Then the interconnections between nonadditive set-valued measure and the additive set-valued measure as well as the fuzzy measure are discussed. Finally, an approach to construct a nonadditive compact set-valued measure is presented via Aumann fuzzy integral.

Abstract:We propose the concepts of generalized null-additivity and of generalized autocontinuity from below (resp. from above) relating to a pair of fuzzy measures, and discuss the relationship among these new concepts, and null-additivity and autocontinuity (concerning a single fuzzy measure). By means of these structure characteristics of fuzzy measures we establish the generalized dominated convergence theorem and the generalized Vitali convergence theorem for Choquet integral in the framework involving an ordered pair of fuzzy measures. The previous related versions of dominated convergence theorem and of Vitali-like convergence theorem of Choquet integral are recovered by these generalized versions, respectively. In such a framework, the standard-type and pseudo-type of dominated convergence theorems (resp. Vitali-like convergence theorem) of Choquet integral are unified.

Abstract:Given a measurable space (X,F), a fuzzy measure μ on (X,F), and a nonnegative functionfonXthat is measurable with respect toF, we can define a new set function ν on (X,F) by the fuzzy integral. It is known that ν is a lower semicontinuous fuzzy measure on (X,F) and, moreover, if μ is finite, then ν is a finite fuzzy measure as well. In this paper, we generalize in several different ways the concept of absolute continuity of set functions, as defined in classical measure theory. In addition, we investigate the relationship among these generalizations by using the structural characteristics of set functions such as null-additivity and autocontinuity, and determine which types of absolute continuity of fuzzy measures are possessed by the fuzzy measure (or the lower semicontinuous fuzzy measure) obtained by the fuzzy integral.
Two Types of Ordinal Sums of Fuzzy Implications on Bounded Lattices

Abstract:In this paper, two kinds of ordinal sums of fuzzy implications on bounded lattices are provided. The first one is complementing a specific fuzzy implication to a given family of fuzzy implications defined on pairwise disjoint closed subintervals of a bounded lattice. The second way is defining specific values outside the given family of countably many subintervals, where the endpoints of the subintervals constitute a chain. For the first way, necessary and sufficient conditions for a fuzzy implication to be a complement of a given family of fuzzy implications such that the ordinal sum is a fuzzy implication are provided, which generalize some results of fuzzy implications on the real unit interval. Based on this, we deal with those elements that are incomparable with the endpoints of the given subintervals and provide a fuzzy implication as a complement such that for arbitrary family of fuzzy implications on the given subintervals, the ordinal sum is always a fuzzy implication. For the second ordinal sum, we provide two methods for defining values outside the given subintervals that are shown to be always fuzzy implications.

Abstract:The paper proposes another extension of the extremal principle. A new extremality model involving collections of arbitrary families of sets is studied. It generalizes the conventional model based on linear translations of given sets as well as its set-valued extensions. This approach leads to a more general and simpler version of fuzzy separation. The new model is capable of treating a wider range of optimization and variational problems.

Abstract:We consider a (finite or infinite) family of closed convex sets with nonempty intersection in a normed space. A property relating their epigraphs with their intersection's epigraph is studied, and its relations to other constraint qualifications (such as the linear regularity, the strong CHIP, and Jameson's ($G$)-property) are established. With suitable continuity assumption we show how this property can be ensured from the corresponding property of some of its finite subfamilies.

Abstract:It is well-known that there always exists at least one stationary measure compatible with a continuous g-function g. Here we prove that if the set of discontinuities of the g-function g has null measure under a candidate measure obtained by some asymptotic procedure, then this candidate measure is compatible with g. We explore several implications of this result, and discuss comparisons with the literature concerning assumptions and examples. Important part of the paper is concerned with the case of variable length memory chains, for which we obtain existence, uniqueness and weak-Bernoullicity (or $\beta$-mixing) under new assumptions. These results are specially designed for variable length memory models, and do not require vanishing uniform variation. We also provide a further discussion on some related notions, such as random context processes, non-essential discontinuities, and finally an example of everywhere discontinuous stationary measure.

Chain-dependent Conditions in Extremal Set Theory

Abstract:In extremal set theory our usual goal is to find the maximal size of a family of subsets of an $n$-element set satisfying a condition. A condition is called chain-dependent, if it is satisfied for a family if and only if it is satisfied for its intersections with the $n!$ full chains. We introduce a method to handle problems with such conditions, then show how it can be used to prove three classic theorems. Then, a theorem about families containing no two sets such that $A\subset B$ and $\lambda \cdot |A| \le |B|$ is proved. Finally, we investigate problems where instead of the size of the family, the number of $\ell$-chains is maximized. Our method is to define a weight function on the sets (or $\ell$-chains) and use it in a double counting argument involving full chains.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the concept of strongly order continuity of a set function, and use it to investigate the convergence of measurable functions sequence and of integral sequence on fuzzy measure space. Several equivalent conditions of strongly order continuity are presented. It is shown that a necessary and sufficient condition that Lebesgue's theorem remains valid for a monotone set function is that the set function possesses strongly order continuity.

Abstract:A new kind of fuzzy way-below relation on fuzzy complete lattices is defined.Based on it,the concept of fuzzy semicontinuous lattice is introduced.We show that such a fuzzy semicontinuous lattice is a generalization of a semicontinuous lattice.Some properties of the fuzzy way-below relation on fuzzy semicontinuous lattices are discussed.An equivalent characterization of fuzzy semicontinuous lattices is given by using fuzzy Galois connections.

Abstract:On the basis of Geometric Consistency (GCI) of multiplicative preference relations and the transformation relation between multiplicative preference relations and fuzzy preference relation, inconsistency measure of fuzzy preference relation and the thresholds associated with it are studied. A new satisfactory consistency concept of fuzzy preference relation is defined. For a fuzzy preference relation, which does not possess satisfactory consistency, an improving consistency approach is provided. Then, programming models for estimating interval priority weights from fuzzy preference relations is established. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the validity and practicality of the proposed methods.

Abstract:The overlap function, a continuous aggregation function, is widely used in classification, decision-making, image processing, etc. Compared to applications, overlap functions have also achieved fruitful results in theory, such as studies on the fundamental properties of overlap functions, various generalizations of the concept, and the construction of additive and multiplicative generators based on overlap functions. However, most of the research studies on the overlap functions mentioned above assume commutativity and continuity, which can limit their practical applications. In this paper, we remove the symmetry and continuity from overlap functions and define discrete pseudo-quasi-overlap functions on finite chains. Meanwhile, we also discuss their related properties. Then, we introduce pseudo-quasi-overlap functions on sub-chains and construct discrete pseudo-quasi-overlap functions on finite chains using these sub-chain functions. Unlike quasi-overlap functions on finite chains generated by the ordinal sum, discrete pseudo-quasi-overlap functions on finite chains constructed through pseudo-quasi-overlap functions on different sub-chains are dissimilar. Eventually, we remove the continuity from pseudo-automorphisms and propose the concept of pseudo-quasi-automorphisms. Based on this, we utilize pseudo-overlap functions, pseudo-quasi-automorphisms, and integral functions to obtain discrete pseudo-quasi-overlap functions on finite chains; moreover, we apply them to fuzzy multi-attribute group decision-making. The results indicate that—compared to overlap functions and pseudo-overlap functions—discrete pseudo-quasi-overlap functions on finite chains have stronger flexibility and a wider range of practical applications.

Abstract:The concept and some preliminary properties of generalized difference sets are proposed.In view of application,generalized difference sets are such a kind of combinato- rial structures whose±1 characteristic sequences have (at most) triple-valued autocorrelation functions.Therefore,generalized difference sets are not only a generalization in the respect of conception,but also have some application backgrounds.In fact,some examples are given, which show that there are some generalized difference sets such that they are neither divisible difference sets,nor relative difference sets.Moreover,some examples are presented here to illustrate that our methods works for obtaining almost perfect sequences.
