Abstract:In this paper, we solve one-dimensional SU(3) bosons with repulsive delta-function interaction using the Bethe ansatz method. The features of the ground and low-lying excited states are studied by both numerical and analytical methods. We show that the ground state is a SU(3) colour ferromagnetic state. The configurations of quantum numbers for the ground state are given explicitly. For a finite N system, the spectra of low-lying excitations and the dispersion relations of four possible elementary particles (holon, antiholon, sigma-coloron and omega-coloron) are obtained by solving the Bethe ansatz equation numerically. The thermodynamic equilibrium of the system at finite temperature is studied by using the strategy of the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz; we give a revised Gaudin-Takahashi equation which is useful for the numerical method. Thermodynamic quantities, such as specific heat, are obtained for some special cases. We find that the magnetic property of the model in the high-temperature regime is dominated by Curie's law, chi proportional to 1/T, and the system has Fermi-liquid-like specific heat in the strong coupling limit at low temperature.

Abstract:By choosing a suitable single-mode boson realization of SU(1,1) algebra we show that the associated SU(1,1) coherent state can be directly reformed as a negative binomial state. The q-deformed negative binomial state is introduced, and the relationship between this state and the SUq(1,1) coherent state is also demonstrated.

Abstract:The Su–Schrieffer–Heeger (SSH) model perhaps is the easiest and the most basic model for topological excitations. Many variations and extensions of the SSH model have been proposed and explored to better understand both fundamental and novel aspects of topological physics. The SSH4 model has been proposed theoretically as an extended SSH model with higher dimension (the internal dimension changes from two to four). It has been proposed that the winding number in this system can be determined through a higher-dimensional extension of the mean chiral displacement measurement, however, this has not yet been verified in experiment. Here, we report the realization of this model with ultracold atoms in a momentum lattice. We verify the winding number through measurement of the mean chiral displacement in a system with higher internal dimension, we map out the topological phase transition in this system, and we confirm the topological edge state by observation of the quench dynamics when atoms are initially prepared at the system boundary.

Abstract:The one-dimensional Heisenberg model in the presence of orbital degeneracy is studied at the SU(4) symmetric point by means of Bethe ansatz. Following Sutherland's previous work on an equivalent model, we discuss the ground state and the low-lying excitations more extensively in connection to the spin systems with orbital degeneracy. We show explicitly that the ground state is a SU(4) singlet. We study the degeneracies of the elementary excitations and the spectra of the generalized magnons consisting of these excitations. We also discuss the complex 2-strings in the context of the Bethe ansatz solutions. [S0163-1829(99)00238-6].

Abstract:A one-dimensional model for two-band SU(2) bosons with isospin exchange interaction is solved by means of the nested Bethe-ansatz method. The features of the ground state and low-lying excitation state are discussed explicitly by numerical and analytical method. The thermodynamics of the system is analyzed by means of the thermodynamic Bethe-ansatz method, and some physical quantities, such as magnetization, specific heat, etc. are obtained explicitly in some special cases.

Abstract:We study the newly observed charmoniumlike state Z(cs)(3985) in the framework of chiral effective field theory. The interaction kernel of the (D) over bar (s) D*/ (D) over bar (s)* D system is calculated up to the next-to-leading order with the explicit chiral dynamics. With the fitted parameters extracted from the Z(cs)(3985) data as inputs, the mass, width, and event distributions of the Z(cs)(3985) are very consistent with the experimental measurements. Our studies strongly support the Z(cs)(3985) as the partner of the Z(cs)(3985) in the SU(3)(f) symmetry and the (D) over bar (s) D*/ (D) over bar (s)* D Dmolecular resonance with the same dynamical origin as the other charged heavy quarkonium-like states. We precisely predict the resonance parameters of the unobserved states in (D) over bar (s)* D*, B-s*(B) over bar /B-s(B) over bar*, and B-s*(B) over bar* systems, and establish a complete spectrum of the charged charmoniumlike and bottomoniumlike states with the I(J(P)) quantum numbers 1(1(+)) 1/2 (1(+)), respectively.

Abstract:Based on the permutable property between the two-mode boson-fermion annihilator for a supersymmetric harmonic oscillator, which is described by H = b dagger b + f dagger f, and the ''charge'' operators b dagger b - f dagger f we construct the supersymmetric pair coherent state. Abstract:Entangled SU(2) and SU(1,1) coherent states are developed as superpositions of multiparticle SU(2) and SU(1,1) coherent states. In certain cases, these are coherent states with respect to generalized su(2) and su(1,1) generators, and multiparticle parity states arise as a special case. As a special example of entangled SU(2) coherent states, entangled binomial states are introduced and these entangled binomial states enable the contraction from entangled SU(2) coherent states to entangled harmonic oscillator coherent states. Entangled SU(2) coherent states are discussed in the context of pairs of qubits. We also introduce the entangled negative binomial states and entangled squeezed states as examples of entangled SU(1,1) coherent states. A method for generating the entangled SU(2) and SU(1,1) coherent states is discussed and degrees of entanglement calculated. Two types of SU(1,1) coherent states are discussed in each case: Perelomov coherent states and Barut-Girardello coherent states.
Mott Insulating States and Quantum Phase Transitions of Correlated SU(2N) Dirac Fermions

Abstract:The interplay between charge and spin degrees of freedom in strongly correlated fermionic systems, in particular of Dirac fermions, is a long-standing problem in condensed matter physics. We investigate the competing orders in the half-filled SU(2N) Hubbard model on a honeycomb lattice, which can be accurately realized in optical lattices with ultracold large-spin alkaline-earth fermions. Employing large-scale projector determinant quantum Monte Carlo simulations, we have explored quantum phase transitions from the gapless Dirac semimetals to the gapped Mott insulating phases in the SU(4) and SU(6) cases. Both of these Mott insulating states are found to be columnar valence bond solid (cVBS) and to be absent of the antiferromagnetic Neel ordering and the loop current ordering. Inside the cVBS phases, the dimer ordering is enhanced by increasing fermion components and behaves nonmonotonically as the interaction strength increases. Although the transitions generally should be of first order due to a cubic invariance possessed by the cVBS order, the coupling to gapless Dirac fermions can soften the transitions to second order through a nonanalytic term in the free energy. Our simulations provide important guidance for the experimental explorations of novel states of matter with ultracold alkaline-earth fermions.

Abstract:I investigate the use of the SU(3) Clebsch-Gordan coefficients in light of the relations of completeness and closure. I show that in the case of $\alpha_V = F/(F+D)~\neq$ 1, there is an additional interaction: the exchange of a $\rho$ meson between a $\Lambda$ and a $\Sigma^0$ hyperon that only affects the symmetric coupling. I then calculate these additional coupling constants and show that this recovers the completeness and closure of the SU(3) Clebsch-Gordan coefficients for all values of $\alpha_V$. Besides, it increases the symmetry of the theory, once now we can group the baryon octet into four doublets. Finally, I add the new coupling constants to study numerical results in the hyperon onset in dense nuclear matter assuming $\alpha_V$ as a free parameter.

Abstract:We analyze detailed properties of BPS coherent states and their connection to gravity. We interpret the group integral coherent state as a path integral over auxiliary variables coupled to the elementary letters of the theory. The eigenvalues of coherent state amplitudes can be viewed as collective coordinates of giant gravitons. Inspired by the above coherent states and by the integrability, we construct a new type of coherent states in the SL(2) sectors and their cousin PSU(1,1|2) sectors, analogous to the aforementioned coherent states. The large spin and small spin limits can be obtained by varying coherent state amplitudes. We add string words onto the BPS coherent states, and this gives rise to string-added coherent states. The insertions of string multi-words can be viewed as operator-insertions in this path integral. We describe BPS states and near BPS states building upon these coherent states in gauge-gravity correspondence. For example, string-added coherent states and their near BPS spectra are analyzed. This approach is particularly convenient for heavy excited states.

Abstract:Using the Holstein–Primakoff boson realization of spin operators we can identify the binomial state with a particular spin coherent state. In so doing some properties of spin coherent states can be derived by simply using the binomial state. The displaced binomial state is introduced and its completeness relation is examined. That the concept of the binomial state can be extended to two-mode case is pointed out.

Abstract:A generalized Mermin-Ho relation for a spin-1 BEC is derived, which is applicable to vortices regardless of the symmetry and spin polarization of the order parameter.
