Abstract:A new time-dependent feedback method is proposed to control the spatio-temporal patterns of a globally coupled chaotic map with a strong nonlinear parameter and relatively weak coupling strength. A small time-dependent feedback is used on the system variable to synchronize completely the globally coupled map, control the system to any desired clustering state from a turbulent state, and synchronize two such systems with originally different spatio-temporal patterns as well.
