Abstract:The common problem encountered in the research of lead based ferroelectric relaxors is that the pure perovskite phase materials are difficult to prepare, because the pyrochlore phase always appears in the process of preparation. The stability of perovskite structure and the causes of pyrochlore formation for PMN and PZN are analyzed by using thermodynamics, kinetics and crystal chemistry. The measures to inhibit the pyrochlore phase are introduced.
