Abstract:The precise periodic solution and uniqueness of periodic solutions of some relative rotation nonlinear dynamical system possessing linear rigidity and nonlinear damping force and forcing periodic force is investigated. Firstly, the stability and uniqueness of limit cycles of a kind of autonomous nonlinear dynamical system are discussed. Secondly, the necessary condition of uniqueness of periodic solutions of the system is presented by using qualitative analysis method. The precise periodic solution of the system is obtained under certain conditions.

Abstract:The system of two coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations has wide applications in physics. In the past, the main attention has been their solitary waves. Here we turn our attention to their periodic wave solutions. In this paper, the stability of the periodic solutions is studied analytically and the criteria for the stability are obtained. The long time evolution of the solutions to the coupled system is studied numerically for the unstable case emphasizing wave–wave interactions in nonlinear optics. Different kinds of evolution are observed depending on the coefficients of the system and the parameters of the unperturbed waves and perturbation. For certain ranges of parameters, the evolution appears to be periodic, while for some other ranges of parameters, solitary wave or solitary wave pairs can be excited among the irregular background although often the evolution is completely chaotic.
Existence of periodic solutions and stability for a nonlinear system of neutral differential equations

Abstract:In this article, we study the existence and uniqueness of periodic solutions, and stability of the zero solution to the nonlinear neutral system $$ \frac{d}{dt}x(t)=A(t)h\big(x(t-\tau_1(t))\big)+\frac{d}{dt}Q\big(t,x(t-\tau_2(t))\big) +G\big(t,x(t),x(t-\tau_2(t))\big). $$ We use integrating factors to transform the neutral differential equation into an equivalent integral equation. Then we construct appropriate mappings and employ Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem to show the existence of a periodic solution. We also use the contraction mapping principle to show the existence of a unique periodic solution and the asymptotic stability of the zero solution. Our results generalize the corresponding results in the existing literature. Abstract:In modern engine, the rotor-bearing system that is typical nonlineardynamic system has been wide used. While modern rotating machinery hasbeen designed with weigher load, higher rotating speed, and lighterweight, the stability of system become critical problem. 　　As a kind of typical nonlinear system with multi-freedom degrees,the rotor-bearing system can become unstable by various elementssuch as fluid film force of bearing, etc. Those elements, to bestrictly, are all nonlinear force and can be linearized undercertain condition. With the development of nonlinear dynamics,especially bifurcation and chaos theories are applied to analyzenonlinear rotor-bearing system, the dynamic characteristics ofcomplicate rotor-nonlinear supporting system can be studied withnumerical stimulation method. Until now, the analysis on strongnonlinear dynamic system is limited to system with a few freedomdegrees. 　　Owing to the strong nonlinearity of squeeze film force, thetheoretical analysis on it is very difficult. In this paper, amulti-freedom dynamic system with high nonlinearity -flexiblerotor with two disks supported on squeeze film damper system isinvestigated. In order to get the periodic solution, the timedomain method -Shooting Method is adopted, then avoid solvinga series of large order nonlinear equations of frequency method.While the unbalance response of this system is obtained, theFloquet theory has the advantage to judge how the leadingFloquet multiplier cross the unit circle and how the systembecome unstable. It is found that there are three kinds of wayfor periodic solution becoming unstable in this system: secondHopf bifurcation, doubling bifurcation and saddle-nodebifurcation. 　　The result by theoretical analysis is compared with that bydirect integration and they are identical, so the theoreticalanalysis is right. 　　The divergence of shoot method is also analyzed.

Abstract:This paper is motivated by the stability problem of nonconstant periodic solutions of time‐periodic Lagrangian equations, like the swing and the elliptic Sitnikov problem. As a beginning step, we will study the linearized stability and instability of nonconstant periodic solutions that are bifurcated from those of autonomous Lagrangian equations. Applying the theory for Hill equations, we will establish a criterion for linearized stability. The criterion shows that the linearized stability depends on the temporal frequencies of the perturbed systems in a delicate way.

Abstract:This paper studies the periodic feedback stabilization for a class of linear T-periodic evolution equations. Several equivalent conditions on the linear periodic feedback stabilization are obtained. These conditions are related to the following subjects: the attainable subspace of the controlled evolution equation under consideration; the unstable subspace (of the evolution equation with the null control) provided by the Kato projection; the Poincaré map associated with the evolution equation with the null control; and two unique continuation properties for the dual equations on different time horizons [0,T] and [0,n0T] (where n0 is the sum of algebraic multiplicities of distinct unstable eigenvalues of the Poincaré map). It is also proved that a T-periodic controlled evolution equation is linear T-periodic feedback stabilizable if and only if it is linear T-periodic feedback stabilizable with respect to a finite-dimensional subspace. Some applications to heat equations with time-periodic potentials are presented.

Abstract and Applied Analysis

Abstract:Firstly, we propose a concept of uniformly almost periodic functions on almost periodic time scales and investigate some basic properties of them. When time scale T = R or Z , our definition of the uniformly almost periodic functions is equivalent to the classical definitions of uniformly almost periodic functions and the uniformly almost periodic sequences, respectively. Then, based on these, we study the existence and uniqueness of almost periodic solutions and derive some fundamental conditions of admitting an exponential dichotomy to linear dynamic equations. Finally, as an application of our results, we study the existence of almost periodic solutions for an almost periodic nonlinear dynamic equations on time scales.

Stability and Bifurcation of Rotor-Coupling System Applied by Nonlinear Oil Film Forces

Abstract:The motion differential equations of the rotor-coupling system are developed under the action of the nonlinear oil film forces, which are calculated by finite difference method. The results show that for a balanced rotor system, there is a stable limited cycle within a large range of rotating speed after the equilibrium position is unstable, and the larger the difference of the two side rotor masses, the higher the speed corresponding to the Hopf bifurcation. For an unbalance system, complex phenomenon such as quasi-periodic motion, period-doubling motion,etc. appears to the system after the synchronous periodic solutions loss stability, and the position of the unbalance influences on the dynamic behavior of the system.

Abstract:The synchronization of two symmetrical nonlinear-coupled chaotic systems is discussed. A special nonlinear-coupled term is constructed by suitable separation between linear and nonlinear terms of the chaotic system. The phenomenon of stab le chaotic synchronization has been found in a certain region of the coupled str ength α=05. The stability of the synchronous state is examined by the sta bility criterion of linear systems and the conditional Lyapunov exponent. The Lo renz system and the hyper-chaotic Rssler system are treated as numerical exam ples. It is shown that the proposed method is effective for chaotic synchronizat ion of time-continued systems and hyper-chaotic systems.

Abstract:In this paper we consider a class of nonlinear wave equation with $x$-dependent coefficients and prove existence of families of time-periodic solutions under the general boundary conditions. Such a model arises from the forced vibrations of a nonhomogeneous string and the propagation of seismic waves in nonisotropic media. The proofs are based on a Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction together with a differentiable Nash-Moser iteration scheme.

Abstract:This paper deals with the long term behavior of periodically excited mechanical systems consisting of linear components and local nonlinearities. The number of degrees of freedom of the linear components is reduced by applying a component mode synthesis technique. Lyapunov exponents are used to identify the character of the long term behavior of a nonlinear dynamic system, which may be periodic, quasi-periodic or chaotic. Periodic solutions are calculated efficiently by solving a two-point boundary value problem using finite differences. Floquet multipliers are calculated to determine the local stability of these solutions and to identify local bifurcation points. The methods presented are applied to a beam system supported by a one-sided linear spring, which reveals very rich, complex dynamic behavior.

Abstract:By using the method of coincidence degree and Lyapunov functional, a set of easily applicable criteria are established for the global existence and global asymptotic stability of strictly positive(componentwise)periodic solution of a periodic n-species Lotka-Volterra competition system with feedback controls and several deviating arguments.The problem considered in this paper is in many aspects more general and incorporate as special cases various problems which have been studied extensively in the literature.Moreover,our new criteria,which improve and generalize some well known results, can be easily checked.

Abstract:Nonlinear dynamic responses and bifurcations of a sliding beari ng-rotor system were analyzed. The differential equations of motion of a flexible single-disk-rotor system symmetrically supported by a pair of sliding bearings were established. According to the local no nlinearity of the system, an iterative method, derived from the combination of the Newton-Raphson method and the Wilson-θ method, was proposed to calculate periodic responses. In using the proposed method, the iteration procedure only need to be iterating with the nonlinear degree of freedom. The stability and bifurcation of the periodic responses were analyzed by the Floquet theory. Taking the rotating spee d as the bifurcation parameter, computations were performed on a certain model of the bea ring-rotor system. The numerical results show that period-doubling and seconda ry Hopf bifurcation are the main bifurcation types of the system. Coexistent different solutions and jumped phenomenon are also existed in the system. Bifurcations of the system occur again with the increase of the rotating speed.

Abstract:Nonlinear behaviors of balanced rotor dynamical system with sliding bearing supports were analyzed.The time scale i.e.,the unknown whirling period of Hopf bifurcation solution of sliding bearing-balanced rotor system was drawn into the iterative process of solving a two-point boundary value problem using PNF(Poincaré-Newton-Floquet) method.Hopf bifurcation solution and its period can be obtained simultaneously using the method consisting of the time scale and PNF method.Stability of the Hopf bifurcation solution can be identified by the Floquet theory when Hopf bifurcation solution and its period are calculated.Period-doubling bifurcation to chaos routine of the system was analyzed by the presented method and self-adaptive Runge-Kutta method.Chaotic motion was determined with FFT and Lyapunov exponent spectrum(LES).Kaplan-York fractal dimension was calculated to analyze strange attractors of chaotic motion.The numerical results of responses show that the schemes of this study save computing efforts and have good pricision.
