Abstract:As the complement of the conventional γ correction, a new non-linear γ correction system for amorphous Silicon Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Displays (a-Si TFT-LCDs) has been designed. The trapezoidal corrected Electro-optical Characteristic (EOC) curve of LCD widens the dynamic range of analog input signals. As a result, the gray scale has been improved. The special Vcom signals we use improve the uniformity of the image and partly reduce the flicker.
