Abstract:Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) phase-conjugate mirror was used to produce XeCl laser beam of good optical quality and short time duration. In the experimental setup, an oscillation-amplification excimer laser system was used. The amplified phase-conjugate beam duration could vary from 50 ns to 70 ns, by changing the pump pulse energy or the depth of the lens focus into the SBS medium. The spatial quality of this beam is improved, and the scattered light power density is higher than the pumped light.
