The connections between WBK equation, heat equation and Burgers equation are found, which are used to obtain three families of solutions for WBK equations, one of which is the family of solitary wave solutions.

Abstract:The main purpose of this paper is to improve our transposition method to solve both vector-valued and operator-valued backward stochastic evolution equations with a general filtration. As its application, we obtain a general Pontryagin-type maximum principle for optimal controls of stochastic evolution equations in infinite dimensions. In 1articular, we drop the technical assumption appeared in [Q. Lü and X. Zhang, Springer Briefs in Mathematics,Springer, New York, 2014, Theorem 9.1].

Abstract:A conformal invariant asymptotic expansion approach is proposed to solve any nonlinear integrable and nonintegrable models with any dimension. Many new Painlevé integrable models with the same dimensions can be obtained at the same time. Taking the (2+1)-dimensional KdV-Burgers (KdVB) equation and the (3+1)-dimensional Zabolotskaya-Khokhlov and Kudomtsev-Petviashvili (ZKKP) equation as concrete examples, we obtain some new higher dimensional conformal invariant models with a Painlevé property and the approximate solutions of these models. In certain special cases, some of the approximate solutions become exact.

Abstract:The homogeneous balance method is extended to seek for Bäcklund transformation, Lax pairs, non-local symmetries of variable coefficient KdV equation (VCKdVE). Then based on the Bäcklund transformation and general solutions of a fourth-order nonlinear ordinary differential equation, five kinds of exact solutions of VCKdVE are derived. The soliton-like solution also belongs to these solutions.

Abstract:Using the differential geometric control theory, we present the necessary and sufficient conditions under which an analytic affine nonlinear system with multiple inputs is equivalent to, via state transformation without feedback, a kind of extended Brunovsky canonical form. The proof is based on a new technique for applying the Frobenius Theorem in a more convenient way by converting a set of quasilinear partial differential equations with the same main portion to a set of homogeneous linear partial differential equations.

Abstract:The prolongation structure of Zhiber-Mikhailov-Shabat (ZMS) equation is studied by using Wahlquist-Estabrook's method. The Lax pair for ZMS and Riccati equations for pseudopotentials are formulated respectively from linear and nonlinear realizations of the prolongation structure. Abstract:Under investigation in this paper is a (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear evolution equation, which was proposed and analyzed to study features and properties of nonlinear dynamics in higher dimensions. Using the Hirota bilinear method, we construct a bilinear Bäcklund transformation, which consists of four equations and involves six free parameters. With test function method and symbolic computation, three sets of lump–kink solutions and new types of interaction solutions are derived, and figures are presented to reveal the interaction behaviors. Setting constraints to the new interaction solution via the test function expressed by "polynomial-cos-cosh," we simulate the periodic interaction phenomenon. Pfaffian solutions to the (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear evolution equation are obtained based on a set of linear partial differential conditions. According to our results, the diversity of solutions to the (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear evolution equation is revealed.

Abstract:Two new applications of homogeneous balance (HB) method are presented. It is shown that HE method can be extended to search for the Backlund transformations and similarity reductions of nonlinear partial differential equations. The close relations among the HE method, Weiss-Tabor-Carnevale method and Clarkson-Kruskal direct reduction method are also found. KdV-MKdV equation is considered as an illustrative example, and its one kind of Backlund transformation, three kinds of similarity reductions and several kinds of travelling wave solutions are obtained by using extended HB method.

Abstract:In this paper, we address the Painlevé asymptotics of the solution in two transition regions for the defocusing nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation with finite density initial data iq_t+q_xx-2(|q|^2-1)q=0, q(x,0)=q_0(x) ∼± 1, x→±∞ . The key to prove this result is the formulation and analysis of a Riemann–Hilbert problem associated with the Cauchy problem for the defocusing NLS equation. With the ∂̅ -generalization of the Deift–Zhou nonlinear steepest descent method and double scaling limit technique, in two transition regions defined by 𝒫_± 1:={ (x,t) ∈ℝ×ℝ^+: 0<| x/2t-(± 1)| t^2/3≤ C} , where C>0 is a constant, we find that the leading order approximation to the solution of the defocusing NLS equation can be expressed in terms of the Hastings–McLeod solution of the Painlevé II equation in the generic case, while Ablowitz–Segur solution in the non-generic case.

Abstract:In this paper, with the help of Mathematica, three travelling wave solutions for a class of nonlinear evolution equations u(tt) + au(xx) + bu + cu(3) = 0 are obtained by trigonometric function method and Wu-eliminition method which include new trarelling wave solutions, bell soliton solutions and kink soliton solutions. Some equations such as Duffing equation, Klein-Gordon equation, Landau-Ginburg-Higgs equation and phi(4) equation are particular cases of the evolution equations. The method also can be applied to other nonlinear equations.
Binary Bell polynomials approach to the integrability of nonisospectral and variable-coefficient nonlinear equations

Abstract:Recently, Lembert, Gilson et al proposed a lucid and systematic approach to obtain bilinear B\"{a}cklund transformations and Lax pairs for constant-coefficient soliton equations based on the use of binary Bell polynomials. In this paper, we would like to further develop this method with new applications. We extend this method to systematically investigate complete integrability of nonisospectral and variable-coefficient equations. In addiction, a method is described for deriving infinite conservation laws of nonlinear evolution equations based on the use of binary Bell polynomials. All conserved density and flux are given by explicit recursion formulas. By taking variable-coefficient KdV and KP equations as illustrative examples, their bilinear formulism, bilinear B\"{a}cklund transformations, Lax pairs, Darboux covariant Lax pairs and conservation laws are obtained in a quick and natural manner. In conclusion, though the coefficient functions have influences on a variable-coefficient nonlinear equation, under certain constrains the equation turn out to be also completely integrable, which leads us to a canonical interpretation of their $N$-soliton solutions in theory.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a new type space reverse nonlocal Lakshmanan–Porserzian–Daniel (LPD) equation which can be derived from the two-component LPD system with a special reduction. We construct the multi-fold binary Darboux transformation for the nonlocal equation. The advantage of the binary Darboux transformation is that it provide a short-cut to construct explicit formulas for the solutions of nonlocal equation with zero and non-zero background conditions, such as the interaction bright soliton wave which can degenerate into the one bright wave having a sudden phase shift, the bound state bright wave which looks like a breather wave, the multi-humps bright wave, the interaction breather wave and the resonance breather wave. We find that these solutions exhibit various dynamic evolutions, and most of the collisions between the waves in these solutions are inelastic.

Abstract:In terms of the solutions of the generalized Riccati equation, a new algebraic method, which contains the terms of radical expression of functions f (xi), is constructed to explore the new exact solutions for nonlinear evolution equations. Being concise and straightforward, the method is applied to nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation, and some new exact solutions of the system are obtained. The method is of important significance in exploring exact solutions for other nonlinear evolution equations.

Abstract:Based on a first order nonlinear ordinary differential equation with at most a sixth-degree nonlinear term which is extended from a type of elliptic equation, and by converting it into a new expansion form, this paper proposes a new algebraic method to construct exact solutions for nonlinear evolution equations. Being concise and straightforward, the method is applied to modified Benjamin-Bona-Mahony (mBBM) model, and some new exact solutions to the system are obtained. The algorithm is of important significance in exploring exact solutions for other nonlinear evolution equations.
The Barenblatt solution of an evolution problem governed by a doubly nonlinear nonlocal operator

Abstract:In this article, we prove existence and uniqueness of the Barenblatt solution of the evolution equation on the whole Euclidean space where the principle part is the nonlocal fractional p-Laplacian composed with a power function. Our proof generalizes methods developped by J.-L. Vazquez [Nonlinear Anal., 199 (2022), Calc. Var. Partial Differential Equations, 60 (2021)] for the evolution equation driven by the fractional p-Laplacian on the whole Euclidean space. In particular, we required an Aleksandrov symmetry principle, which can be applied to the mild solutions of the evolution equation in $L^1$ governed by the doubly nonlinear nonlocal operator, and the construction of global barrier functions. The Aleksandrov symmetry principle might be of independent interest.

Abstract:This manuscript introduces a modified formal variable separation approach, showcasing a systematic and notably straightforward methodology for analyzing the B-type Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation. Through the application of this approach, we successfully ascertain decomposition solutions, Backlund transformations, the Lax pair, and the linear superposition solution associated with the aforementioned equation. Furthermore, we expand the utilization of this technique to the C-type Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation, leading to the derivation of decomposition solutions, Backlund transformations, and the Lax pair specific to this equation. The results obtained not only underscore the efficacy of the proposed approach but also highlight its potential in offering a profound comprehension of integrable behaviors in nonlinear systems. Moreover, the approach establishes an efficient framework for establishing interrelations between diverse systems.

Abstract:It is well known that Bäcklund transformation is a powerful means in the study of nonlinear evolution equations. Up to now, a large number of works have been devoted to this aspect [1,2,3,4,5,6]. Recently, it is noticed that a unified explicit form of Bäcklund transformations can be obtained for some hierarchies of isospectral equations, such as Kdv, MKdv, Sine-Gordon and AKNS hierarchy [7–12]. The approach to the study is to construct the Darboux matrices first, and then prove the gauge equivalence of the related Lax pairs. However, to demonstrate the t part is quite difficult in this approach, and it is also hard to employ this method to study hierarchies of non-isospectral evolution equations.
