Abstract:MIMO interference network optimization is important for increasingly crowded wireless communication networks. This paper presents a new algorithm, named Dual Link Algorithm, for weighted sum-rate maximization where the interference is efficiently managed. We consider general MIMO interference channels with Gaussian input and a total power constraint. Two of the previous state-of-the-art algorithms are the WMMSE algorithm and the polite water-filling (PWF) algorithm. The WMMSE algorithm is provably convergent, while the PWF algorithm takes the advantage of the optimal transmit signal structure and converges the fastest in most situations but is not guaranteed to converge in all situations. Therefore, it is highly desirable to design an algorithm that has the advantages of both algorithms. The proposed dual link algorithm is such an algorithm. Its fast and guaranteed convergence is important to distributed implementation and time varying channels. In addition, the technique and a scaling invariance property used in the convergence proof may find applications in other non-convex problems in communication networks.

Abstract:Adaptive multi-input multi-output(MIMO)technology has been proved to be an effective way for improving communication system throughput within the limit of wireless frequency resources.In this paper,an improved adaptation scheme is presented.First,initial power allocation and data streams selection are implemented through Water-Filling algorithm based on singular value decomposition(SVD).Then under certain transmission power and frame error rate(FER),the signal to interference and noise ratio(SINR)is selected as channel quality indicator to calculate the exact power allocation and determine the modulation-coding mode according to an existing iterative algorithm.Simulation results show that this scheme performs better in system throughput.

Abstract:MIMO systems can gain the benefit of spatial multiplexing by using multiple transmit and receiving antennas.Conventional weighted fair queuing(WFQ) doesn't take advantage of the benefits of spatial multiplexing of MIMO systems and the system capacity isn't improved,although it does provide fair channel access chance to users.A novel spatial multiplexing multiuser access(SMMA) scheduling algorithm based on weighted fair queuing for MIMO system is proposed to solve this problem.The SMMA-WFQ combines the fair scheduling strategy at the upper layer with optimal antenna assignment at the physical layer.Computer simulations were conducted to compare conventional WFQ and SMMA-WFQ.Simulation results show that the SMMA-WFQ algorithm provides fair channel access to users and also improves system capacity.

Abstract:A novel adaptive subchannel allocation algorithm is proposed for multi-user MIMO-OFDM system. All subcarriers are divided into several subchannels. Then, priority is given to users with lower average channel capacity and subchannel with the highest utilization efficiency is allocated to this user. Thus, a high spectral efficiency is achieved as well as the performance on fairness. In order to deduce the transmitter complexity and the impact caused by non-linearity, we introduce antenna selection into the subchannel allocation algorithm and propose a joint adaptive subchannel allocation and antenna selection algorithm. Simulation results show that the spectral efficiency is improved and the outage probability is decreased in the proposed joint algorithm.

Abstract:In this research, a hybrid adaptive bionic fuzzy control strategy is developed for a class of complicated nonlinear multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems with dead-zone input. The first component of the bionic adaptive controller is a general phrase for tunning system parameters depending on the present state, and the second component is a trend-based compensation for adjusting the system parameters. This technique makes the system more intelligent and boosts its anti-interference capabilities. The stability and convergence are analyzed using the Lyapunov synthetic method, and thus the parameter restrictions of the MIMO system are provided. Finally, the strong anti-interference of the system is verified by the simulations.

Abstract:A downlink multiuser MIMO SDMA system is proposed,which combines Tx-Rx optimization in Physical Layer and multiuser diversity scheme in MAC Layer.In the proposed system,CSI in Physical Layer and multiple access control in MAC Layer are considered both to achieve joint optimization.Simulation shows that the cross-layer scheme not only decreases the required Tx antenna number in the downlink multiuser SDMA system,but also enhances its performance.

Abstract:In MIMO multiuser system, the Co-channel interference (CCI) constitutes the major source of noise. With the object of effectively suppressing CCI, we propose in this paper an eigen-based MIMO transmission scheme and the corresponding multiuser detection (MUD) scheme. This scheme requires only principle right singular vectors at the transmitter as partial channel state information, which greatly alleviates the burden on the feedback channel. This paper also presents a multiuser scheduling criterion which is believed to enhance the sum capacity of the transmission system. Because this transmission scheme use only principal right singular vector, it is not affected by spatial channel correlation. Finally, computer simulation have show this scheme provides good performance in terms of symbol error rate (SER)

Abstract:Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) simulator is proposed as promising method for multiple-input multiple-out (MIMO) system, which provides a good tradeoff between performance and hardware complexity. But the conventional MCMC algorithm needs to calculate conditional distributions in every sampling, where nonlinear exponent calculations are involved and the values of conditional log likelihood ratio (CLLR) have large dynamic range. It also suffer stalling problem at high signal-to-noise (SNR) regimes. In this paper, we propose a low complexity MCMC algorithm based on Max-Log updating. Samples are directly updated in log-domain with small dynamic range of CLLR. A bias technique is also proposed to remedy the stalling issue. Results show that the proposed MCMC detector can reduce 50% complexity with 2 dB gains at high SNR regimes compared with the conventional enhanced MCMC detector. The enhanced MCMC algorithm also outperforms minimum mean square error based on parallel interference cancellation (MMSE-PIC) by 2dB performance gains with 10% less complexity.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the issue of multiuser detection (MUD) in a massive spatial modulation (SM) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, where the base station is equipped with a large number of antennas and each user equipment uses single-carrier SM (SC-SM) for uplink transmission. Unlike the conventional MUD for massive SM-MIMO systems, the application of forward error correction (FEC) coding is explored in our design, which is utilized to combat the impact of multiuser interference (MUI). More specifically, we propose to utilize the soft information from the FEC decoder to iteratively improve the MUI rejection procedure and provide more accurate estimation of the transmitted signals. The soft information is exchanged between the decoder and the MUI cancellation unit, which constitutes a turbo structure and leads to simultaneous improvement of the mean square error and the bit error ratio performance. The performance gain is substantiated by theoretical analysis as well as numerical simulations.

Abstract:Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and multiple input multiple output (MIMO) technologies provide additional dimensions of freedom with spectral and spatial resources for radio resource management. Multi-dimensional radio resource management has recently been identified to exploit the full dimensions of freedom for more flexible and efficient utilization of scarce radio spectrum while provide diverse quality of service (QoS) guarantees. In this work, a multi-dimensional radio resource scheduling scheme is proposed to achieve above goals in hybrid orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) and space division multiple access (SDMA) systems. Cochannel interference (CCI) introduced by frequency reuse under SDMA is eliminated by frequency division and time division between highly interfered users. This scheme maximizes system throughput subjected to the minimum data rate guarantee for heterogeneous users and transmit power constraint. By numerical examples, system throughput and fairness superiority of the our scheduling scheme are verified.

Abstract:The technology of Multipe-input Multiple-output-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(MIMO-OFDM) has been documented as an attractive means to achieve high data rate transmissions and high reliability by diversity techniques.In this paper,the four-transmit antenna and multiple-receive system based on MIMO-OFDM technique is designed. The orthogonal space-time block coding technology with low complexity is used,which can solve the problem of multiple antenna system that with the sum of transmit and receive antenna increasing,the coding and decoding methods become more complex.Besides,the maximum likelihood decoding is employed and multi-phase shift keying is used.Simulation results indicate that it has better error performance and higher spectral efficiency.

Abstract:Two power control schemes for CDMA systems using a MIMO-based space-time signal processing technique, space- time mapping (STM), are proposed in this paper under slow fading scenarios, both for an individual link and in the presence of intra-cell interferers. Simulation results show that the proposed schemes provide a significant reduction in the bit error rate (BER) compared to that of no power control.

Abstract:Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) techniques take advantage of transmitting multiple data streams at the transmitter simultaneously to increase the spectrum efficiency. However, it is difficult for the newly emerging spatial modulation (SM) MIMO techniques to transmit multiple data streams directly, because of the multi-signal confliction problem. In this paper, we present a new multi-stream space shift keying (MSSK) modulation scheme for MIMO system, which modulates the multiple streams of signals to the transmitter by space shift keying (SSK) method without signal confliction. We adopt rotated signals to identify different streams and enlarge the Euclidean distance between streams without conveying any information. By smartly combining the rotated signals at the transmitter, the proposed MSSK modulation scheme is able to solve the multi-signal confliction problem in SSK system and increase the spectrum efficiency significantly. We also derive the tight upper bounds of bit error probability for MSSK and compare the proposed scheme with the existing SM MIMO schemes in this paper. Numerical results verify its effectiveness.

Abstract:In this letter, we introduce a novel transmission scheme to a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system employing an M × M antenna structure. The conventional MIMO loads parallel signals onto all transmit antennas to realize essentially M separate channels to achieve high channel capacity. In contrast, the proposed method can dynamically activate a subset of the transmit antennas at each transmission while maintaining the same channel capacity as conventional MIMO. The dynamic activation of the transmit antennas offers a statistically similar advantage to spatial modulation, leading to a reduced number of active RF chains and power saving as well. The theoretical analysis is conducted through the proposed transformation matrix that operates from the signal source to the transmit signal. The effectiveness of this approach is investigated regarding capacity issues and antenna utilization, which are confirmed by simulation results.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a new kind of adaptive MIMO signaling scheme. Compared with other adaptive scheme, our approach utilize both the channel state information (CSI) and the constellation of the information streams. We also find that some precoders can be greatly enhanced by the constellation rotation, while others achieve nearly no improvement. We analyze this phenomenon and therefore develop some criteria to generalize the combination of them. Numerical simulations are presented and verify our results.

Abstract:The integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) system under multi-input multi-output (MIMO) architecture achieves dual functionalities of sensing and communication on the same platform by utilizing spatial gain, which provides a feasible paradigm facing spectrum congestion. However, the dual functionalities of sensing and communication operating simultaneously in the same platform bring severe interference in the ISAC systems. Facing this challenge, we propose a joint optimization framework for transmit beamforming and receive filter design for ISAC systems with MIMO architecture. We aim to maximize the signal-to-clutter-plus-noise ratio (SCNR) at the receiver while considering various constraints such as waveform similarity, power budget, and communication performance requirements to ensure the integration of the dual functionalities. In particular, the overall transmit beamforming is refined into sensing beamforming and communication beamforming, and a quadratic transformation (QT) is introduced to relax and convert the complex non-convex optimization objective. An efficient algorithm based on covariance matrix tapers (CMT) is proposed to restructure the clutter covariance matrix considering the mismatched steering vector, thereby improving the robustness of the ISAC transceiver design. Numerical simulations are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Abstract:This paper addresses joint transceiver and relay design for a wireless multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) switching scheme that enables data exchange among multiple users. Here, a multiantenna relay linearly precodes the received (uplink) signals from multiple users and forwards the signal in the downlink, where the purpose of precoding is to let each user receive its desired signal with interference from other users suppressed. The problem of optimizing the precoder based on various design criteria is typically nonconvex and difficult to solve. The main contribution of this paper is a unified approach to solve the weighted sum mean square error (MSE) minimization and weighted sum rate maximization problems in MIMO switching. Specifically, an iterative algorithm is proposed for jointly optimizing the relay's precoder and the users' receive filters to minimize the weighted sum MSE. It is also shown that the weighted sum rate maximization problem can be reformulated as an iterated weighted sum MSE minimization problem and can, therefore, be solved similarly to the case of weighted sum MSE minimization. With properly chosen initial values, the proposed iterative algorithms are asymptotically optimal in both high- and low-signal-to-noise-ratio regimes for MIMO switching, either with or without self-interference cancellation (a.k.a., physical-layer network coding). Numerical results show that the optimized MIMO switching scheme based on the proposed algorithms significantly outperforms existing approaches in the literature.

Abstract:The basic theory of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(MIMO-OFDM)systems is studied,2Tx1Rx and 2Tx2Rx systems are designed in which Multiphase Shift Keying(MPSK)is used as digital modulation,Alamouti Coding technology is used as space-time coding,and Reed-Solomon(RS) coding is used as channel coding.The system is simulated by using Matlab,and system performance is analyzed.The simulation results confirm that the design scheme is feasible.The system has not only high spectral efficiency,but also low BER,and it has wide applications.

Abstract:The complexity and high insert loss of radio frequency (RF) front ends are main constrains in application of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) system, especially in large scale scenarios. As an attractive solution, the concept of switched parasitic array (SPA) was proposed to realize the same performance of MIMO system with single RF chain. To assess its feasibility and efficiency, in this paper, a systematic model based on SPA technique is built and simulated. Numerical results show great agreement with theory in aspect of bit-error-ratio (BER) and channel capacity.

Abstract:A multi-model-based predictive control (MMPC) strategy dealing with nonlinear model-based predictive control (NMPC) for MIMO systems is developed in this paper. Firstly a multi-model identification method is given. Using fuzzy satisfactory clustering algorithm presented in this paper, the complex nonlinear system can be quickly divided into multiple fuzzy parts. A global model can be obtained by some transformation of the obtained multiple linear models. An MMPC algorithm is therefore designed for the global MIMO systems with system performance analysis. Taking a pH neutralization control system as simulation example, the simulation results verify the effectiveness of MMPC on complex nonlinear systems.
