Abstract:A multivariable nonlinear predictive control algorithm based on online fuzzy modeling and discrete optimization is presented for a family of complex systems with strong nonlinearity. The algorithm consists of two part: The first part is online fuzzy modeling using fuzzy clustering and linear identification, the second part is discrete optimization of the control action based on the principle of Branch and Bound method. In the process of fuzzy modeling, the unsupervised fuzzy competitive algorithm and a discarding criterion are introduced to ensure the fuzzy model can trace the system dynamics in time. The effectiveness and advantage of the presented algorithm are illustrated two numerical examples.

Abstract:Abstract A fuzzy system has been shown capable of arbitrarily approximating any nonlinear function, and has been successfully applied to system modeling together with an RBF network used for compensation. B-spline basis functions have many desirable numerical properties and as such is used as membership functions of fuzzy system in this paper. The training algorithm is very simple since the network is linear in weights. RBF nets are local in nature, so they are suitable to compensate local errors two simulated examples are also given to illustrate the approaches

Abstract:This paper introduces a new design concept for adaptive fuzzy controller based on Lyapunov stability and on-line identification strategy of dynamical systems described by fuzzy relational model. The proposed algorithm has been applied to asimulation model and a pilot electric-heating stove, and the closed loop control performance is studied. These have demonstrated the validity of the algorithm in respect of being able to respond to nonlinearity and time delay of process.

Abstract:A fuzzy model-based on predictive control algorithm for solving nonlinear control problems is proposed. The fuzzy model is used as a multistep predictor of the nonlinear dynamics of the multivariable system, and a nonlinear optimization approach is used to obtain the optimum control law. The proposed algorithm has been applied to CSTR in simulations, and the effectiveness of the algorithm has been shown.

Abstract:A stability result on linear time-varying systems is proposed at the beginning, by which and the TS model the stability analysis and design of a class of fuzzy control system are presented. Contract to the existed method, the new method can utilize fully the information from the operator and reduce time cost. Furthermore, it keeps away the difficulty to find a common matrix for all subsystems and waste to identify repeat, and keep over some hypotheses which are not necessary such that the new system can be applied in more wide range.

Abstract:In this paper, a new fuzzy controller is proposed by introducing nonlinear functions into the analytical fuzzy controller, and the methods of to on-line adjust the rules of this fuzzy controller is present. The application of this new fuzzy controller in generator excitation systems is studied. The structures of the fuzzy logic controller for generator excitation control are established, through which both the voltage regulation accuracy and enhance damping requirements are satisfied. Mathematical analysis indicates that the proposed controller is an intrinsic non-linear PID controller with adaptive rules. In the application, the engineers needn't to design the control rules, instead, they only need to choose initially control parameters according to engineering control experience. So the design and implementation of the controllers are simplified. The simulation results show that the proposed fuzzy controller can improve the accuracy of voltage control and strengthen the stability of electric power systems.

Abstract:In this paper, an adaptive fuzzy control scheme for a class of nonlinear continuous dynamic systems is proposed. The scheme employs a fuzzy controller and a compensation controller. The parameters of the fuzzy controller are online adjusted according to an adaptive law while the identification of the controlled plant is unnecessary. It is proved that the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable based on the Lyapunov synthesis approach. Finally, we apply this controller to control a chaotic system. The simulation results show that our scheme is much superior to the scheme of Wang (1993).

Abstract:This paper proposes a development method to deal with the stability problems for a kind of complex large-scale systems with hybrid models. These hybrid large-scale systems are composed of considerable interconnected nonlinear subsystems, some of which are described by differential equations and others by Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy models. Novel techniques to cope with the nonlinear interconnection between subsystems are developed. A set of LMI-based conditions are derived to judge the stability of the whole system by checking the stability of the subsystems in parallel, which greatly speeds up the stability analysis process. And the computational complexity is greatly reduced. A numerical example is given to illustrate its effectiveness

Abstract:In this paper, nonlinear system is substituted with T-S fuzzy model. Since the conclusion part is linear model, the Takagi-Sugeo fuzzy model can be treated as a linear time-varying system. We accomplish the model structure identification by using clustering algorithm on-line. Fuzzy basis functions are used to approach the timevarying coefficients and RLS is used to identify the parameter of conclusion part, so accomplishing the identification invariable coefficients on-line. At last, generalized predictive control is designed for the original nonlinear system. The effectiveness of the presented method is demonstrated by the simulation results.

Abstract:For identification of nonlinear systems using recurrent high order neural networks, a set of available robust stable learning rules and the corresponding structures based on the Lyapunov stability method are presented. It ensures that the identification error and parameters of the neural networks are stable in the sense of uniform ultimate boundedness when a nonlinear system is identified, even in the case there exists modeling error. The simulation shows that the proposed learning rules are effective.

Abstract:This paper presents a novel approach to stability analysis of a fuzzy large-scale system in which the system is composed of a number of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy subsystems with interconnections. The stability analysis is based on Lyapunov functions that are continuous and piecewise quadratic. It is shown that the stability of the fuzzy large-scale systems can be established if a piecewise Lyapunov function can be constructed, and, moreover, the function can be obtained by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) that are numerically feasible. It is also demonstrated via a numerical example that the stability result based on the piecewise quadratic Lyapunov functions is less conservative than that based on the common quadratic Lyapunov functions. The H/sub /spl infin// controllers can also be designed by solving a set of LMIs based on these powerful piecewise quadratic Lyapunov functions.

Abstract:In this paper, we first present some dynamic TS fuzzy subsystems to approximate a nonlinear system. To make the subsystems asymptotically stable, the reference model with the same fuzzy sets of the system rule is established. A feedback controller is designed based on an exact approximation modeL The control gain can be solved by LMI approach. Since in practical plant, there are parameters uncertainty and external disturbance in approximation models, we propose a new controller with an adaptive fuzzy control term to compensate the uncertainty and alleviate the disturbance. Lyapunov constitute techniques can prove the stability of the closed loop systems. The simulations results illustrate the effectiveness of this approach.

Abstract:A one-step-ahead adaptive control scheme based on fuzzy models is present for a class of nonlinear dynamic system which have no restriction on the structure. The specific features of the fuzzy systems are taken into consideration. The proposed method has the following properties: (i) By properly designing the fuzzy system, the modeling error converges to an error band which can be made arbitrarily small. (ii) With mild assumptions, the tracking error of the closed-loop system is guaranteed within an epsilon-neighborhood of zero and the stability is ensured. Tests on the data from a real steel-heating furnace axe given to show the effectiveness of the scheme.

Abstract:In this paper, two adaptive fuzzy control schemes for a class of nonlinear systems are proposed. Each scheme employs a fuzzy control with an adaptive law, and a compensation control. Abstract:This article investigates the composite learning fuzzy control for a class of stochastic nonlinear strict-feedback systems subject to dynamics uncertainty. The fuzzy logic system is built to model the unknown system nonlinearity. The highlight is that different from previous studies using only tracking error for fuzzy weight updating, the accuracy of fuzzy learning is emphasized in this study. The serial-parallel estimation model with fuzzy approximation and gain compensation is constructed to acquire the prediction error such that the composite fuzzy updating law is designed with more accurate feedback information. The stochastic stability analysis ensures the uniformly ultimate boundedness of the system signals in mean square. Through the simulation tests on a numerical example with different stochastic disturbances and one-link manipulator dynamics, it is proved that the proposed composite learning scheme can solve the system uncertainty effectively and make the closed-loop system track the reference command with satisfactory accuracy.

Abstract:This paper presents a stability analysis method for discrete-time Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy dynamic systems based on a piecewise smooth Lyapunov function. It is shown that the stability of the fuzzy dynamic system can be established if a piecewise Lyapunov function can be constructed, and moreover, the function can be obtained by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities that is numerically feasible with commercially available software. It is also demonstrated via numerical examples that the stability result based on the piecewise quadratic Lyapunov functions is less conservative than that based on the common quadratic Lyapunov functions.

Abstract:In this paper, a fuzzy Lyapunov function approach is applied to discrete-time fuzzy control system. Then, a new sufficient condition for the stability of the open loop system is proposed. In addition, the fuzzy PDC controller design problem is reduced to a series of BMI. By variable reduction lemma, the local state feedback gains are constructed. At last, simulation result is given to show the design procedure of the proposed method.

Abstract:Fuzzy neural networks, with suitable learning strategy, have been demonstrated as an effective tool for online data modeling. However, it is a challenging task to construct a model to ensure its quality and stability for non-stationary dynamic systems with some uncertainties. To solve this problem, this paper presents a novel identification model based on recurrent interval type-2 fuzzy wavelet neural network (RIT2FWNN) with new learning algorithm. The model benefits from both advantages of recurrent and wavelet neural networks such as use of temporal data and fast convergence properties. The proposed antecedent and consequent parameters update rules are derived using sliding-mode-control-theory. To evaluate the proposed fuzzy model, it is utilized to design a nonlinear model-based predictive controller and is applied for the synchronization of fractional-order time-delay chaotic systems. Using Lyapunov stability analysis, it is shown that all update rules of the parameters are uniformly ultimately bounded. The adaptation laws obtained in this method are very simple and have closed forms. Some stability conditions are derived to prove learning dynamics and asymptotic stability of the network by using an appropriate Lyapunov function. The efficacy and performance of the proposed method is verified by simulation examples.
