Abstract:This paper considers the problem of robust control for singular systems with state delay and parameter uncertainty. The time delay appears in both state and control input and is assumed to be length-bounded otherwise arbitrarily fast time-varying, while the parameter uncertainty under consideration is norm bounded and possibly time-varying. We first obtain a condition for a singular time-delay system to be regular, impulse free and stable, based on which, the problems of robust stability and robust stabilization are solved. An linear matrix inequality (LMI) design method is develop and an explicit expression for the desired stabilizing control is also given. The proposed synthesis method is illustrated by a numerical example.

Abstract:ABSTRACTThe problem of delay‐dependent robust stabilization for uncertain singular time‐delay systems is investigated in this paper. The parameter uncertainty is assumed to be norm‐bounded and possibly time‐varying, while the time delay considered here is assumed to be constant but unknown. A delay‐dependent condition is presented for a singular time‐delay system to be regular, impulse free, and stable, based on which robust stability analysis and the robust stabilization problem are studied. An explicit expression for the desired state‐feedback control law is also given. The obtained results are formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which involve no decomposition of the system matrices. Some numerical examples are given to show the efficiency of the theoretical conditions.

Abstract:This paper mainly studies quadratic stabilization and robust H∞ controller design for linear uncertain dynamic systems with delayed state and control. The paper presents a static state feedback controller which stabilizes the plant and reduces the effect of the disturbance input on the controlled output to prescribed levels for all admissible uncertainties. The sufficient conditions for quadratic stabilization with a H∞ norm bound constraint are derived. The results can be regarded as an extension of existing results to robust H∞ controller design for linear uncertain dynamic systems with delayed state and control.

Abstract:We studied the delay-dependent stabilization problem for a class of uncertain singular system with time-delays and saturating controls. Theorems derived give sufficient conditions for delay-dependent stabilization of the singular systems with a combination of saturating controls and multiple time-delays in both state and control; we assumed the delays to be constant bounded but unknown, moreover, the uncertainties are also described to be unknown but bounded and the nonlinear terms included in the systems are fallen into a set. Under these sufficient conditions, the solution of the uncertain singular system is regular, impulse free, and locally asymptotically stable for all admissible uncertainties. Furthermore, the results based on several Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs) are developed to guarantee stability and be computed effectively. Finally, we advance an example to demonstrate the superiority of this method.

Abstract:The problem of designing a robust controller for a multivariable system with significant uncertainty is considered. In particular, the class of uncertainty is represented by a set of finite demensional linear time-invariant models of the system. A physically realizable, finite demensional linear time-invariant controller in unit feedback configuration is designed such that the resulting feedback system simultaneously satisfies performance objectives for all models in the set. The performance objectives considered include not only stability but also regulation, tracking, weak interaction and desirable transcient behaviour. A new approach to a robust controller design which reaches the above objectives is developed in a frequency domain setting, and its effectiveness of this approach is verified by the design and simulation of a papermachine control system. The result exhibits quite satisfactory performances and strong robustness.

Abstract:The robust stabilization problem for uncertain discrete singular time-delay systems is addressed in this paper. In terms of strict linear matrix inequality and a finite Sum inequality, a delay-dependent criterion for the nominal systems to be admissible is obtained. Based on the criterion, a state feedback controller, which guarantees that, for all admissible uncertainties, the resulting closed-loop system is regular, causal and stable, is constructed. An explicit expression for the desired controller is also given. The obtained results include both delay-independent and delay-dependent cases. Abstract:The primary disadvantage of current design techniques of robust control is their inability to deal effectively with pre-specified time-domain performances of systems. We consider robust control for uncertain linear systems with pre-specified time-domain performances, i.e. for such systems with constraints on outputs of systems. Using the practical stability theory, we obtain a design procedure of robust control for uncertain linear systems with constraints on outputs of systems. The sufficient conditions of robust stability for uncertain linear systems with constraints on outputs of systems subject to a bounded exterior disturbance are described by a series of parametric conditions and linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Then a possible synthesis procedure and a numerical example are discussed

Abstract:This paper considers synchronization problem of an uncertain complex dynamical network. The norm-bounded uncertainties enter into the complex dynamical network in randomly ways, and such randomly occurring uncertainties (ROUs) obey certain mutually uncorrelated Bernoulli distributed white noise sequences. Under the circumstances, a robust ℋ_∞ decentralized dynamic feedback controller is designed to achieve asymptotic synchronization of the network. Based on Lyapunov stability theory and linear matrix inequality (LMI) framework, the existence condition for feasible controllers is derived in terms of LMIs. Finally, the proposed method is applied to a numerical example in order to show the effectiveness of our result.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a fuzzy singular perturbed unified model which can be used in both continues-time domain and discrete-time domain. The sampling period should be the same order small amount of the singular perturbation parameter ε and ε ≪ 1 in fuzzy singular perturbed systems. Hence, the unified model makes use of delta operator which takes numerical advantages in high speed sampling system. In the proposed model framework, the problem of robust control is addressed. Furthermore, the singular perturbation parameter independent solution is also obtained. Some simulation results are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Abstract:In this paper, a robust controller design approach for singularly perturbed Markov jumping systems, which admit strong ill-conditioned dynamics. The proposed robust controller do not use the jumping mode information, and therefore is very useful in some cases when the jumping information is unavailable. Other than our previous results, the design procedure reduces to solving a set of linear matrix inequalities, but not bilinear matrix inequalities. The numerical examples show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Abstract:This paper presents a robust control scheme for the tracking control of singularly perturbed uncertain systems. The design problem is divided into two parts: tracking the reference trajectory and enhancing the robustness of the dynamic systems. By using the time-scale techniques, dynamic inversion approach and linear parameter-varying methods, a set of singularly perturbed state feedback controllers are employed to enhance the tracking performance and robustness of a dynamic system against parameter uncertainties, actuator and sensor unmodelled dynamics, and external disturbances. The longitudinal control of an F16 aircraft model is included to show the merits and and effectiveness of the proposed design scheme.

Abstract:We consider a control design problem for a class of uncertain systems. The salient features of the problem are fourfold. First, the uncertainty is time-varying. Second, the system is nonlinear. Third, the state is constrained to be only positive. Fourth, the control input may be constrained to be one-sided (i. e., either positive or negative). We start with a state transformation to release the state constraint. A partial sign-definiteness knowledge of the uncertainty is then shown to be critical to meet the control constraint. Three classes of controls are constructed: one for state constraint and two for the additional control constraint. They render the system globally practically stable.

Abstract:This paper studies complete stability robustness and feedback stabilization problem for uncertain singular systems. New perturbation upper bound that ensures the perturbed singular system remains completely stable (impulse-free and asymptotically stable) is derived. Analysis and examples show that the present result is less conservative than the previous ones. Based on an algorithm for eigenstructure assignment, a procedure to construct a state feedback matrix that maximizes the complete stability robustness bound of the closed-loop system is presented.
