Abstract:Seven compounds were isolated from Aster poliothamnus. By means of spectral evidences and crystal analysis, their structures were elucidated as ��-sitosterol, ��-amyrin, daucosterol, spinasterol, stigmasterol, dammara-20, 24-dien-3��-ol and epifriedlinol.

Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents from leaves of Phyllostachys pubescens. Method Column chromatography on sephadex LH-20 as well as preparative HPLC and spectral analysis were used to isolate and elucidate the constituents. Result Six compounds were isolated from leaves of Phyllostachys pubescens, and identified as vanillin (I), syringic aldehyde (II), p-hydroxybenzaldehyde (III), vanillic acid (IV), syringic acid (V), 4-hydroxy-3-methoxy cinnamic acid, ethyl ester (VI). Conclusion All above the compounds were isolated from the plant for the first time.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To isolate and determine the chemical constituents from Astilbe chinensis. METHOD:Four compounds were isolated and purified by extraction and column chromatography on silica gel. The chemical structures were determined on the basis of physical-chemical evidence and extensive spectral analysis(HR-EIMS, EIMS, 13C-NMR, 1H-NMR, DEPT, 1H-1H-COSY, HMQC and HMBC). RESULT:Their structures were elucidated as beta-sitosterol palmitate I, daucosterol II beta-sitosterol III and Bergenin IV, respectively. CONCLUSION:Compound I and II were isolated from A. chinensis for the first time.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To study the chemical constituents of ethanolic extract from herbs of Dicliptera chinensis. METHOD The compounds were separated by silica gel column chromatography, preparation TLC and reverse phase HPLC, their structures were identified by the spectroscopic methods of UV, NMR and MS. RESULT Seven compounds were isolated from ethyl acetate extract. Their structure were identified as octasulphur (1), secoisolariciresinol dimethyl ether diacetate (2), 5-methoxy-4, 4'-di-O-methyl secolariciresinol (3), chinensinaphthol methyl ester (4), loliolide (5), beta-sitosterol 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (6) and stigmasterol 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (7). CONCLUSION All the compounds except 6 were obtained from the plants of Dicliptera for the first time.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To study the chemical constituents of the aerial parts of Medicago polymorpha Linn.METHODS Compounds were separated by column chromatography with silica gel and Sephadex LH-20.Their structures were elucidated on the basis of physiochemical and spectral analyses.RESULTS Fourteen compounds were obtained and elucidated as apigenin(1),apigenin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(2),apigenin-7-O-β-D-glucuronopyranoside methyl ester(3),apigenin-7-O-β-D-glucuronopyranoside butyl ester(4),luteolin(5),isoformononetin(6),isoliquiritigenin(7),echinocystic acid-3-O-[-O-α-L-rhamnosyl-(1→2)-α-L-arabinoside](8),coumestrol(9),adenine(10),xanthine(11),n-nonyl triacontanol(12),daucosterol(13),and β-sitosterol(14).CONCLUSION These compounds were isolated from Medicago polymorpha for the first time.Compounds 3,4,6,8,10,11 and 12 were isolated from the Medicago genus for the first time.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To study the chemical constituents from the seed of Trigonella foenum-graecum.METHOD:The compounds were isolated with silica gel chromatography and their structures were identified by physical, chemical properties and spectral analysis.RESULT:Seven compounds were isolated and identified as N,N'-dicarbazyl, glycerol monopalmitate, stearic acid, beta-sitosteryl glucopyranoside, ethyl-alpha-D-glucopyranoside, D-3-O-methyl-chiroinsitol and sucrose.CONCLUSION:All the compounds were obtained from this plant for the first time and N,N'-dicarbazyl is a new natural product.

Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents of the whole plant of Spirodela polyrrhiza(L.)Schleid..Methods The compounds were isolated by silica gel and ODS column chromatography and semi-preparative HPLC,their structures were elucidated on the basis of their physicochemical and spectroscopic data.Results Five compounds were obtained from S.polyrrhiza.Their structures were identified as apigenin 8-C-(2″-O-feruoyl)-β-D-glucoside(1),rietin(2),vitexin(3),luteolin 7-O-β-D-glucoside(4)and apigenin 7-O-β-D-glucoside(5).Conclusions Compound 1 is a new compound.Compounds 2 and 3 were isolated from this plant for the first time.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To study the chemical constituents of Artemisia lactiflora Wall.ex DC.METHODS The comepounds were isolated by column chromatography with silica gel,C18 reverse-phase silica gel,Sephadex LH-20,and semi-preparative HPLC,and their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral analysis and physicochemical evidences.RESULTS Twelve compounds were isolated from the chloroform layer of ethanol extract of Artemisia lactiflora and identified as 4-(2-hydroxyethoxy)acetophenone(1),loliotide(2),isololiotide(3),isovanillic acid(4),p-hydroxybenzoic acid(5),tran-p-hydroxycinnamic acid(6),trans-p-hydroxycinnamic acid ethyl ester(7),(+)-pinoresinol(8),(+)-medioresinol(9),(+)-syringaresinol(10),4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxy-benzoic acid(11),dihydroisoferulic acid(12).CONCLUSION Compounds 1-12 were isolated from this plant for the first time,and compound 1 was a new natural product,and compounds 4,7,8,12 were isolated from the genus Artemisia for the first time.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To study the chemical constituents of Hedysarum polybotrys.METHOD:Chromatographic methods were used to isolate compounds from H. polybotrys and chemical and spectral methods were used to elucidate the structures of the isolated compounds.RESULT:Five compounds, N,N,N-trimethyl-tropaphone inner salt (hypaphorine) (1), octadecyl-3-methoxy-4-hydroxy-benzeneacrylate (2), 5,7,4'-trihydroxy-dihydroflavanone 5,7-di-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (3), 3,4,5-trimethoxy cinnamic acid methy ester (4) and vanillic acid (5), were isolated from the roots of H. polybotrys.CONCLUSION:Compounds 1, 2 and 3 were obtained from this plant for the first time, while compounds 1 and 2 were isolated from Hedysarum for the first time.

Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents in the whole herb of Dicliptera chinensis.Methods Separation and purification were conducted by silica gel column chromatographic and preparative TLC methods,the structures were identified by IR,NMR,and MS.Results Thirteen compounds were isolated from petroleum ester extract fraction.Their structures were identified as hexatriacontanol(Ⅰ),stearic acid(Ⅱ),lupenone(Ⅲ),lupeol(Ⅳ),4-sitost-4-en-3-one(Ⅴ),stigmast-5-en-7-oxo-3β-yl palmitate(Ⅵ),β-sitosterol(Ⅶ),oleanolic acid(Ⅷ),3β,6β-stigmast-4-en-3,6-diol(Ⅸ),6β-hydroxy-stigmast-4-en-3-one(Ⅹ),3β-hydroxy-stigmast-5-en-7-one(Ⅺ),dehydrovomifoliol(ⅩⅡ),and vomifoliol(ⅩⅢ).Conclusion All the compounds except Ⅱ and Ⅶ are obtained from the plants of Dicliptera Juss.for the first time.

Abstract:Objective: To study the chemical constituents from Ampelopsis humulifolia var. heterophylla (Thunb.) K. Koch. Methods: Chromatography and spectroscopic analysis were employed to isolate and elucidate the chemical constituents in the plant. Results: Six compounds were isolated and elucidated as lupeol, beta-stiosterol, daucosterol, ethyl gallate, gallic acid and catechin. Conclusion: The six compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To study the constituents in the whole plants of Clematis terniflora DC.METHODS Column chromatographic methods (including silica gel and Sephadex LH-20) were used to separate constituents whose structures were elucidated by ESI-MS,NMR spectral data and hydrolysis methods.RESULTS Seven compounds were isolated and elucidated as tricosanol (Ⅰ),heptacosanoic acid (Ⅱ),3,5,7,3′-tetrahydroxyflavone (Ⅲ),5,7,3′,5′-tetrahydroxy-dihydroflavone (Ⅳ),apigenin (Ⅴ),luteolin (Ⅵ) and stigmasterol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (Ⅶ). CONCLUSION Compound Ⅰ～Ⅳ are isolated from Clematis genus for the first time.

Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents in petroleum ether,methylene chloride,and ethyl acetate fractions in the alcohol extract from the dried roots of Astragalus membranaceus var.mongholicus.Methods The constituents were separated and purified by silica gel,Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography,and preparative HPLC.Their structures were elucidated by physicochemical properties and spectroscopic data.Results Fourteen compounds were obtained and identified as pratensein(1),formononetin(2),formononetin-7-O-β-D-glucoside(3),calycosin(4),calycosin-7-O-β-D-glucoside(5),(6aR,11aR)-3-hydroxy-9,10-dimethoxypterocarpan(6),(6aR,11aR)9,10-dimethoxypterocarpan-3-O-β-D-glucoside(7),astragaloside Ι(8),acetylastragaloside Ι(9),astragaloside ΙΙ(10),isoastragaloside ΙΙ(11),adenine(12),β-sitosterol(13),and daucosterol(14).Conclusion Flavonoids and saponins are the essential components in A.membranaceus var.mongholicus.

The structures were determined on the basis of spectral analysis. The structures were elucidated as D-mannitol(I), beta-sitosterol(II), succinic acid(III), caffeic acid(IV), protocatechuic aldehyde(V) and daucosterol(VI). All compounds are obtained from this plant for the first time.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To study the chemical constituents of oligostilbenes from Vitis davidii.METHOD:Compounds were isolated with polystyrene resin RA, silica gel and C18 column chromatography. The structures were elucidated by means of spectroscopic evidence.RESULT:Seven compounds were obtained and identified as resveratrol, heyneanol A, ampelopsin E, amurensin B, (+)-epsilon-viniferin, vitisin A and amurensin G.CONCLUSION:All the compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time.

Abstract:7 compounds were isolated from the ethyl-acetate extract of Vaccinium iteophyllum Hance by using repeated silical gel column chromatography. These 7 compounds were identified by means of physico-chemical propertic and spectroscopic analysis as beta-sitosterol (I), ursolic acid (II), taraxerol (III), taraxerone (IV), friedelin (V), friedelinol (VI), 19,24-dihydroxyurs-12-en-3-one-28-oic acid (VII). The chemical constituents from this plant were reported here for the first time.

Abstract:Object To investigate the chemical constituents in the aerial part of Tetrastigma hypoglau-cum Planch. native to China in order to obtain a more comprehensive understanding of its effective compo-nents. Methods Compounds were isolated by various column chromatographies with silica gel. Theirstructures were elucidated by spectral analysis (IR, MS, 1HNMR, 13CNMR) and chemical evidence. Re-sults Ten compounds were isolated from the ethanol extracts of T. hypoglaucum, which were identifiedas β-sitosterol (Ⅰ), palmitic acid (Ⅱ), pentacosane (Ⅲ), daucosterol (Ⅳ), resveratrol (Ⅴ), gallic acid(Ⅵ), ethyl gallate (Ⅶ), catechin (Ⅷ), 7-O-galloylcatechin (Ⅸ), and 3, 3'-dimethoxy ellagic acid-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (Ⅹ). Conclusion All compounds were obtained from this plant for the first time.

Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents of Microctis Folium(the leaves of Microcos paniculata).Methods The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by column chromatography on silica gel,Sephadex LH-20,macroporous resin,and preparative HPLC,etc.The structures of compounds were elucidated by spectral analysis,comparing physicochemical properties,and TLC with authentic samples.Results Twelve compounds were isolated from the EtOAc and n-butanol fractions of Microctis Folium,and identified as isorhamnetin(1),epicatechin(2),loliolide(3),(+)-dehydrovomifoliol(4),vanillic acid(5),syringic acid(6),methyl caffeate(7),p-hydroxybenzoic acid(8),p-coumaric acid(9),friedelinol(10),stigmasterol(11),and β-sitosterol(12).Conclusion Compounds 3—7 and 9—12 are isolated from the plants in Microctis L.for the first time.Compounds 3 and 4 are firstly reported monoterpenes in this genus.
