Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents from leaves of Phyllostachys pubescens. Method Column chromatography on sephadex LH-20 as well as preparative HPLC and spectral analysis were used to isolate and elucidate the constituents. Result Six compounds were isolated from leaves of Phyllostachys pubescens, and identified as vanillin (I), syringic aldehyde (II), p-hydroxybenzaldehyde (III), vanillic acid (IV), syringic acid (V), 4-hydroxy-3-methoxy cinnamic acid, ethyl ester (VI). Conclusion All above the compounds were isolated from the plant for the first time.

Abstract:7 compounds were isolated from the ethyl-acetate extract of Vaccinium iteophyllum Hance by using repeated silical gel column chromatography. These 7 compounds were identified by means of physico-chemical propertic and spectroscopic analysis as beta-sitosterol (I), ursolic acid (II), taraxerol (III), taraxerone (IV), friedelin (V), friedelinol (VI), 19,24-dihydroxyurs-12-en-3-one-28-oic acid (VII). The chemical constituents from this plant were reported here for the first time.

Abstract:The volatile oil from Vaccinium bracteatum Thumb.leaves was analyzed by GC-MS.65 peaks were separated and 49 compounds were identified,which represented about 91.94 % of the total content.The main chemical constituents were terpenes 54.75 %,open chain alkanes 6.93 %,cycloparaffins 20.13 %,olefins 0.60 %,aromatics 1.60 %,phenol,ether and alcohol 3.39 %,aldehyde and ketone 2.14 %,ester 1.15 %,heterocyclic compounds 0.47 % and amines 0.78 %.Nerolidol 20.01 %,(Z,Z,Z)-1,5,9,9-tetramethyl-1,4,7-cycloundecatriene 17.99 % and caryophyllene 9.59 % were the main components in the identified terpenes.12 kinds of industrial production flavors were found from volatile oil in Vaccinium bracteatum leaves,and five components have insecticide and antibacterial activity.

Abstract:The extractive of Vaccinium carlesii with alcohol was extracted by acetic ether and then abstracted by chloroform,acetone and methanol by turns.The chemical constituents were isolated by using repeated silical gel column chromatography.8 compounds were isolated and identified.Their structures were determined by spectral means.They were n-heptacosane(Ⅰ),friedelin(Ⅱ),friedelinol(Ⅲ),lupenol(Ⅳ),β-sitosterol(Ⅴ),dauosterol(Ⅵ),trans-p-hydroxy cinamic acid(Ⅶ)and methyl shikimate(Ⅷ).All the compounds were obtained from this plant for the first time.Compounds Ⅰ,Ⅳ,Ⅷ are newly isolated from the plant of Vaccinium.

Abstract:Two neolignan glycosides including a new one ( 1 ), along with seven iridoid glycosides ( 3 − 9 ) and nine flavonoid glycosides ( 10 − 18 ), were isolated from the leaves of Vaccinium bracteatum . Their structures were established mainly on the basis of 1D/2D NMR and ESIMS analyses, as well as comparison to known compounds in the literature. The structure of 1 with absolute stereochemistry was also confirmed by chemical degradation and ECD calculation. Selective compounds showed antiradical activity against ABTS and/or DPPH. Moreover, several isolates also suppressed the production of ROS in RAW264.7 cells and exerted neuroprotective effect toward PC12 cells.

Abstract:In the present study,the constituents in the petroleum ether fraction from the extract of Nerviliae fordii(Hance) Schltr were separated by using various kinds of chromatography techniques and recrystallization,and their structures were identifed on the basis of spectral and physicochemical analysis.Ten compounds were isolated from this fraction,and identified as β-sitosterol(1),stigmaterol(2),(9R,10R,7E)-6,9,10-trihydroxyoctadec-7-enoic acid(3),(20S,22E,24R)-ergosta-7,22-dien3β,5α,6β-triol(4),stigmast-22-en-3β,6β,9β-triol(5),ergosta-7,22-dien-3β,5α,6α-triol(6),3β-hydroxystigmasr-5,22-dien-7-one(7),3β-hydroxystigmasr-5-en-7-one(8),aurantiamide acetate(9),and aurantiamide benzoate(10).Among them,compounds 3,5 ～ 8 and 10 were obtained from this plant for the first time.

Abstract:Phytochemical investigation on the stems of Alstonia scholaris (L.) R. Br. led to the isolation and identification of 30 natural products, including sixteen alkaloids (1–16), nine triterpenoids (17–25), two phenols (26–27), and three lignans (28–30). Their structures were established by comprehensive spectroscopic analyses together with the comparison with reported data. Compound 1 was a new indole alkaloid. Compound 24 was firstly isolated from Apocynaceae family, compounds 22–23 and 26–30 were obtained from the genus Alstonia for the first time, and this is the first report of the presence of 11 and 16 in A. scholaris. The chemotaxonomic significance of these isolated compounds was also discussed.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To investigate the chemical constituents of the leaves of Clerodendrum trichotomum.METHODS:The chemical constituents of petroleum ether extract of the leaves of Clerodendrum trichotomum were isolated and purified by various chromatographic techniques, such as silica gel, ODS, Sephadex LH-20, semi-preparative HPLC and recrystallization. The structures of these isolated compounds were identified by spectroscopic analysis (1 H-NMR,13 C-NMR,2D-NMR and MS).RESULTS:Ten compounds were isolated and identified from petroleum ether extract, containing four triterpenes, lupeol(1), friedelin(2), betulinic acid(3) and taraxerol(4); four sterols, 22-dehydroclerosterol(5), clerosterol(6), stigmasterol(7) and sitosterol(8); one diterpenoid, transphytol(9), and one alkaloid, 1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid(10).CONCLUSION:Compound 10 is obtained from the genus Clerodendrum for the first time, and seven compounds (1,3-4, and 7-10) are firstly isolated from this plant.

Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents of Microctis Folium(the leaves of Microcos paniculata).Methods The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by column chromatography on silica gel,Sephadex LH-20,macroporous resin,and preparative HPLC,etc.The structures of compounds were elucidated by spectral analysis,comparing physicochemical properties,and TLC with authentic samples.Results Twelve compounds were isolated from the EtOAc and n-butanol fractions of Microctis Folium,and identified as isorhamnetin(1),epicatechin(2),loliolide(3),(+)-dehydrovomifoliol(4),vanillic acid(5),syringic acid(6),methyl caffeate(7),p-hydroxybenzoic acid(8),p-coumaric acid(9),friedelinol(10),stigmasterol(11),and β-sitosterol(12).Conclusion Compounds 3—7 and 9—12 are isolated from the plants in Microctis L.for the first time.Compounds 3 and 4 are firstly reported monoterpenes in this genus.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To study the chemical constituents of the leaves of Aquilaria sinensis.METHOD:The compounds were isolated and purified by the methods of solvent extraction and chromatographic technique, and their structures were identified on the basis of the analyses of spectral data.RESULT:Eleven compounds were obtained and identified as beta-sitosterol (1), hexacosanic acid (2), cryptotanshinone (3), 2alpha-hydroxyursane (4), dihydrotanshinone I (5), tanshinone I (6), tanshinone II(A) (7), 2alpha-hydroxyursolic acid (8), p-hydroxybenzoic acid (9), hydroquinone (10), and daucosterol (11), respectively.CONCLUSION:All compounds except for compound 9 were isolated from the leaves of A. sinensis for the first time.

Abstract:A new ferulic acid ester, 1′-methyl-2′-hydroxyethyl ferulate (1), together with methylcaffeate (2), 4-hydroxy cinnamic acid (3), ferulic acid (4), caffeic acid (5), diosmetin (6), luteolin (7), 5,3′,4′-trihydroxy-3,7-dimethoxyflavone (8), eriodictyol (9), kaempferol (10), quercetin (11), acacetin-7-O-glcopyranoside (12), 4-(β-glucopyranosyloxy) benzoic acid (13), luteolin-7-O-(6″-feruloyl) glucopyranoside (14), luteolin-7-O-glucopyranoside (15), kaempferide-3-O-rhamnopyranoside (16), quercitrin (17), kaempferol-3-O-glucopyranoside (18), prunasin (19), quercetin-7-O-glucopyranoside (20), quercetin-3-O-glucopyranoside (21), plantaginin (22), linarin (23), luteolin-7-O-rutinoside (24), and chlorogenic acid (25) were isolated from the aerial parts of Dacocephalum peregrinum. The structure of 1 was elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic and HR-ESI-MS analyses. In addition, compound 1 exhibited mild inhibitory effect on NO production in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells.

Abstract:OBJECTOVE To investigate the liposoluble components from the leaves of llex comuta Lindl. ex Paxt.. METHODS The compounds were isolated by repeated column chromatography on silica gel and Sephadex LH-20, and the structures were elucidated by spectral analysis. RESULTS Eleven compounds were obtained. Their structures were identified as lupeol(Ⅰ), 11-keto-α-amyrin pahlmitate(Ⅱ), α-amyrin palmitate(Ⅲ), 12-ursene-3,28-diol(Ⅳ), ursolic acid(Ⅴ), 3β-hydroxylup-20(29)-en-30-al(Ⅵ), 3β-hydroxy-20-oxo-30-norlupane(Ⅶ), tanacetene(ⅧA),β-sitosterol (Ⅸ), n-behenic acid(Ⅹ), and n-hexacosane (Ⅺ). CONCLUSION Compound Ⅳ, Ⅶ, Ⅷ, Ⅹ and Ⅸ are firstly isolated from the genus Ilex. In addition, compound Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅸ are isolated from l. comuta for the first time.

Abstract:Twelve compounds, comprising of four new ones, 6 β ,7α-limondiol ( 1 ) and ethyl 19-hydroxyisoobacunoate diosphenol ( 2 ), N -benzoyl 3-prenyltyramine ( 9 ) and 9- O -methyl integrifoliodiol ( 12 ), were isolated from the twigs with leaves of Tetradium trichotomum . The structures were elucidated by analysis of MS, NMR, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compounds 1 , 6 , 8 , 9 and 12 exhibited immunosuppressive activities in vitro against the proliferation of ConA-induced T lymphocytes and LPS-induced B cells.

Abstract:A profiling analysis for the methanol extract of the seeds of Vaccaria hispanica (Mill.) Rauschert was performed using a HPLC-ESIMS technique. Five compounds were identified according to their retention times, UV spectroscopic and MS features, and by comparison with literature data. Among them, a new flavonoid glycoside, named vaccarin H, was isolated and the structure determined by spectral and chemical analysis as isovitexin 2″- O-α-L-arabinopyranosyl-4′- O-(6″″- O-dihydroferuloyl)-β-D-glucopyranoside.

Abstract:The present study is to investigate the chemical constituents from the dried ripe fruits of Vitex trifolia var. simplicifolia The compounds were isolated by using a variety of chromatographic methods including silicagel, ODS, Sephadex LH-20, reversed-phase HPLC, and other methods. Their structures were identified by NMR, and MS date. As a result, 18 compounds were isolated and identified as ent-2-oxo15,16,19-trihydroxypimar-8(14)-ene (1), chrysosplenol D (2), casticin (3), luteolin (4), eupatrin (5), apigenin (6), 5,4'-dihydroxy-3,6,7-trimethoxyflavone (7), luteolin-4'-O-glucoside (8), hypolaetin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (9), swertisin (10), agestricin D (11), 5,3'-dihydroxy-6,7,4'-trimethoxyflavanone (12), tomentic acid (13), 2α,3β,23-trihydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid (14), 3'-acetoxy-4'-angeloyloxy-3',4'-dihydroseselin (15), dihydrodehydrodiconiferyl alcohol (16), 3,5'-dimethoxy-4',7-epoxy-8,3'-neolignane-5,9,9'-triol (17) and salicifoliol (18). Among them, compounds 1, 2, 5-15, 17 and 18 were obtained from V. trifolia var. simplicifolia Cham for the first time and compounds 1, 5, 7-11, 15, 17 and 18 were isolated from thegenus Vitex for the first time.

Abstract:AIM: Isolation and structural elucidation of the constituents from leaveS of the Chinese medicinal plant Koelreuteria paniculata Laxm. METHODS: The leaves were extracted with 95% EtOH percolation and the crude extracts were purified by using silica gel chromatography. IR, UV, MS, 1H and 13CNMR spectra were employed for structural identification. RESULTS: Three new compounds named ethyl-p-digallate (1), ethyl-m-digallate (2), p-digalloyl acid (3), together with eleven known compounds m-digalloyl acid (4), quercitrin-2″-gallate (5), galloyl acid (6), ethyl galloyl acid (7), ellagic acid (8), quercitrin (9), hyperin (10), kaempferol-3-O-rhamnoside (11), hyperin-2″-gallate (12), β-sitosterol (13) and β-sitosterol 3-O-glucoside (14) were isolated. CONCLUSION: Ethyl-p-digallate (1), ethyl-m-digallate (2) and p-digalloyl acid (3) were new compounds, and 4, 5, 8-12 and 14 were known compounds unreported previously from this plant.

Abstract:To investigate the chemical components from the stems of Casearia velutina Bl.,the constituents were isolated by repeated chromatography with silica gel,Sephadex LH-20,and ODS columns.The structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis.Eleven triterpenoids and its glycosides were isolated from the crude extract of C.velutina,and their structures were identified as friedelin-2,3-1actone (1),friedelane (2),epifriedelanol (3),friedelin (4),2α,3α,19α-trihydroxy-urs-12-cn-28-oic acid (5),2α,3β,19α-trihydroxy-urs-12-en-28-oic acid (6),2α,3α,23-trihydroxy-urs-12-en-28-oic acid (7),2α,3α,23-trihydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid (8),2α,3α,19α,23-tetrahydroxy-urs-12-en-28-oic acid (9),2α,3α,19α,23-tetrahydroxy-urs-12-en-28-oic acid-28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl ester (10),and 3β,19α-dihydroxy-urs-12-en-28-oic acid 3-O-α-L-arabinopyranoside (11).All the compounds described above were isolated from this species for the first time.Compound 1 is a rarely occurred secofriedelolactone in Flacourtiaceae.
