Abstract:We analyze the two-kaon Bose-Einstein correlation in the reactions of 160A GeV/c Pb+Pb within an event generator URASiMA. The apparent radius of kaon-source is extracted. The theoretical result agrees quite well with the preliminary data of NA44.

Abstract:The E-802 spectrometer at the Brookhaven Alternating Gradient Synchrotron, enhanced by a trigger for selection of events with one or more specified particles, has been used to measure the momentum-space correlation between pairs of K+'s emitted in central Si+Au collisions at 14.6A GeV/c. This correlation has been projected onto the Lorentz-invariant relative four-momentum axis. Fits to this correlation function yield a size for the kaon source that is comparable to that found using pi+ pairs from a similar rapidity range, once a transformation from the particle-pair frames to a single source frame is made.

Abstract:The PHENIX experiment measured Bose-Einstein quantum-statistical correlations of charged kaons in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\text{NN}}}$ = 200 GeV. The correlation functions are parametrized assuming that the source emitting the particles has a Lévy shape, characterized by the Lévy exponent $\alpha$ and the Lévy scale $R$. By introducing the intercept parameter $\lambda$, we account for the core-halo fraction. The parameters are investigated as a function of transverse mass. The comparison of the parameters measured for kaon-kaon with those measured from pion-pion correlation may clarify the connection of Lévy parameters to physical processes.

Abstract:In heavy-ion collisions, the production of kaon at intermediate energies provides a sensitive probe to study the in-medium properties of hadrons. Properties of kaons in dense hadronic matter are important for a better understanding of both the possible restoration of chiral symmetry in dense hadronic matter and the properties of nuclear matter at high densities. In this paper, the in-medium effects and nuclear equation of state (EOS) are studied by analyzing the transverse mass spectra and rapidity distributions of the produced K+ mesons in [Formula: see text] collisions at 1.93 A GeV using the quantum molecular dynamics (QMD) model. The work reveals that the KaoS data favor a repulsive in-medium K+N potential (its value at saturation density ρ0 is (Uk(ρ0) ≈30 MeV ). It is also found that the transverse mass spectra and rapidity distributions of K+ mesons are sensitive to the nuclear EOS.

Abstract:In high-energy collisions, we can obtain information about the source function by measuring the two-particle Bose-Einstein correlation function and considering its relationship with the phase-space density of the particle-emitting source. While a Gaussian shape is commonly assumed, measurements and anomalous diffusion suggest Lévy-stable distributions, as observed in the PHENIX experiment for kaon-kaon pair-source functions. Event generators like EPOS allow direct investigation of freeze-out coordinates, facilitating the analysis of the source function. EPOS, a Monte Carlo-based model, simulates high-energy nuclear and particle collisions, integrating Parton-Based Gribov-Regge theory for initial evolution, subsequent hydrodynamic evolution, and hadronization. In this paper, we present an event-by-event analysis of the kaon source function in $\sqrt{s_\text{NN}}$ = 200 GeV Au+Au collisions using the EPOS model.

Abstract:Three-dimensional pion and kaon emission source functions are extracted from hydrokinetic model (HKM) simulations of central Au+Au collisions at the top Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) energy sNN=200 GeV. The model describes well the experimental data, previously obtained by the PHENIX and STAR collaborations using the imaging technique. In particular, the HKM reproduces the non-Gaussian heavy tails of the source function in the pair transverse momentum (out) and beam (long) directions, observed in the pion case and practically absent for kaons. The role of rescatterings and long-lived resonance decays in forming the mentioned long-range tails is investigated. The particle rescattering contribution to the out tail seems to be dominating. The model calculations also show substantial relative emission times between pions (with mean value 13 fm/c in the longitudinally comoving system), including those coming from resonance decays and rescatterings. A prediction is made for the source functions in Large Hadron Collider (LHC) Pb+Pb collisions at sNN=2.76 TeV, which are still not extracted from the measured correlation functions.

Abstract:Femtoscopy has the capacity to probe the space-time geometry of the particle-emitting source in heavy-ion collisions. In particular, femtoscopy of like-sign kaon-pairs may shed light on the origin of non-Gaussianity of the spatial emission probability density. The momentum-correlations between like-sign kaon-pairs are, hence, measured in data recorded by the STAR experiment, from $\sqrt{s_{_{\rm NN}}} = 200$ GeV $\mathrm{Au}+\mathrm{Au}$ collisions at RHIC, BNL. Preliminary results hint at the, possible, existence of non-Gaussian, Lévy-stable sources; and signal the, likely, presence of an anomalous diffusion process; for the identically-charged kaon-pairs so produced. More statistically significant studies, at lower centre-of-mass energies, may contribute to the search for the critical end point of QCD as well.

Abstract:The data of direct single-photon measurements of the WA98 collaboration in the reaction Pb(158 AGeV) + Pb are analyzed within a thermal model with a minimum number of parameters adjusted to the dilepton data obtained by the CERES and NA50 collaborations in the reactions Pb(158 AGeV) + Au, Pb. The agreement of our model with the WA98 data points to a unique large thermal source emitting electromagnetic radiation observable in both the real and virtual photon channels.

Abstract:In this work, we investigate the production of isovector scalar meson a0(1817) by the effective Lagrangian approach. Specifically, we employ the Reggeized t channel Born term to calculate the total and differential cross sections for the reaction K−p→a0(1817)Λ . Our analysis reveals that the optimal energy range for detecting the a0(1817) meson lies between W=3.4 GeV and W=3.6 GeV , where the predicted total cross section reaches a minimum value of 112 nb. Notably, the t channel, as predicted by the Regge model, significantly enhances the differential cross sections, particularly at extreme forward angles. Abstract:We generalized the previous relativistic Vlasov-Uehling-Uhlenbeck model to be able to identify the isospin degree of freedom of particles and used it to simulate the particle production in Au + Au collisions at I GeV/nucleon. The momentum spectra of proton, pi(+) and K+ particles, the multiplicities of pi(+) and K+, and the K+/pi(+) ratio as functions of the number of participating nucleons are studied. The theoretical results agree very well with experimental data. We also analyzed the physical origin of the significant rising of K+/pi(+) ratio when peripheral collision goes to central collision.

Abstract:Momentum correlation functions between π, K , and p are calculated for several heavy-ion collision systems, namely B510+B510, O816+O816, Ca2040+Ca2040 , and Au79197+Au79197 in central collisions as well as Au79197+Au79197 collision in different centralities at center-of-mass energy sNN=39 GeV within the framework of a multiphase transport model complemented by the Lednický and Lyuboshitz analytical method. The results present the centrality and system-size dependence of the momentum correlation functions among pairs of π, K , and p , from which the emission source-size can be deduced. It is found that the deduced source sizes increase with the decreasing of centrality for Au + Au system or with the increasing of system size in central collisions with different nuclear size. In addition, through the momentum correlation functions of nonidentical particle pairs gated on velocity, the average emission sequence of nonidentical particles can be indicated. The results illustrate that in the small relative momentum region, protons are emitted in average earlier than π+ and K+ , and K+ are emitted averagely earlier than π+ . Furthermore, it seems that larger interval of the average emission order among them is exhibited for smaller collision systems. Abstract:We calculate the cumulants and correlation functions of net-kaon multiplicity distributions in Au+Au collisions at root sNN = 7.7 GeV using a multiphase transport model (AMPT) with both a new coalescence mechanism and all charge conservation laws. The AMPT model can qualitatively describe the centrality dependences of the net-kaon cumulants and cumulant ratios measured by the STAR experiment. By focusing on the stage evolution of the cumulants, cumulant ratios, and correlation functions, we reveal several key effects on the fluctuations and correlations of strangeness during the dynamical evolution of relativistic heavy-ion collisions, including strangeness production and diffusion, hadronization, hadronic rescatterings, and weak decays. Without considering the quantum chromodynamics critical fluctuations in the dynamic model, we demonstrate that the net-kaon fluctuations can largely represent the net-strangeness fluctuations. Our results provide a baseline for understanding the net-kaon and net-strangeness fluctuations, which help to search for the possible critical behaviors at the critical end point in relativistic heavy-ion collisions.

Abstract:In this paper, we discuss the centrality and energy dependence of $K^{*0}$ resonance production using ultrarelativistic quantum molecular dynamics (UrQMD) and thermal models. The $K^{*0}/K$ ratios obtained from the UrQMD and thermal models are compared with measurements done by the STAR experiment in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 7.7, 11.5, 14.5, 19.6, 27, and 39 GeV. The $K^{*0}/K$ ratio from the thermal model is consistent with data in most-peripheral collisions, however it overpredicts the ratio in central Au+Au collisions. This could be due to the fact that the thermal model does not have a hadronic rescattering phase, which is expected to be dominant in more central collisions. Furthermore, we have studied the $K^{*0}/K$ ratio from UrQMD by varying the hadron propagation time ($\tau$) within the range 5 to 50 fm/c. It was found that the $K^{*0}/K$ ratio decreases with increasing $\tau$. Comparison between data and UrQMD suggest, one needs to consider a $\tau$ $\approx$ 10-50 fm/c to explain data at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 7.7-39 GeV in Au+Au collisions. We also predict the rapidity distribution of $K^{*0}$ from UrQMD which could be measured in the STAR beam energy scan phase II (BES-II) program.

Abstract:The pion and kaon production in heavy-ion reactions at 1 GeV/nucleon has been investigated in the relativistic Vlasor-Uehling-Uhlenbeck model, which has been generalized to include the effect of nuclear medium on kaon and pion. The calculated results show that the attractive pion optical potential not only enhances apparently the yield of pions with low transverse momenta, leading to a reasonable fit to the experimental data, but also increases the kaon abundance.

Abstract:Producing kaon mesons in heavy-ion collisions at beam energies below their threshold energy is an important way to investigate the properties of dense nuclear matter. In this study, based on the newly updated version of the ultrarelativistic quantum molecular dynamics model, we introduce the kaon-nucleon (KN) potential, including both the scalar and vector (also dubbed Lorentz-like) aspects. We revisit the influence of the KN potential on the collective flow of K$^{+}$ mesons produced in Au+Au collisions at $E_{lab}$ = 1.5 GeV/nucleon and find that the contribution of the newly included Lorentz-like force is very important, particulary for describing the directed flow of K$^{+}$. Finally, the corresponding KaoS data of both directed and elliptic flows can be simultaneously reproduced well.

Abstract:Within an isospin- and momentum-dependent transport model by including the kaon reaction channels, we study the kaon prodution in heavy-ion collisions (HICs) at SIS (Darmstadt Schwerionen Synchrotron, GSI) energies. Based on simulations of a centrality of 0-40% Au + Au collision at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.4$ GeV, a typical reaction that has been carried out by the HADES Collaboration, we confirm that the medium modification of kaon masses plays a vital role in studying the kaon productions in HICs, and is also unavoidable for the successful interpretation of the HADES data on kaon rapidity distributions and transverse mass spectra. Moreover, it is shown that the directed flows of kaons are affected significantly by the kaon potential and slightly affected by the medium modification of kaon masses. Also, the rapidity-dependent inverse slope parameter $T_{B}$ of the kaon transverse mass spectra is shown to be affected considerably by both the kaon potential and medium modification of kaon masses. However, through checking the simulations of related reactions in FOPI and/or KaoS experiments, some of these regular effects do not seem to be obvious and appear to be the reaction system and/or beam energy dependent. Nevertheless, it can be confirmed that the medium modification of kaon masses is favored by observations from the inverse slope parameter $T_{B}$ and transverse mass spectra of kaons in both HADES Au + Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.4$ GeV and FOPI Ni + Ni collisions at 1.93\textit{A} GeV. Therefore, measurements of the inverse slope parameter $T_{B}$ of kaon transverse mass spectra and the kaon directed flows in HADES Au + Au collisions would be great benefit to detection of the kaon potential and the corresponding medium effects on kaon masses.
