Abstract:This information intercourse system (IICS) is designed for the news intercourse among TV stations and modernization of network and information management in the TV station. Firewall and double-server structure are used in hardware; in software, tech- nologies such as WEB, MIS and database synchronization are adopted. The whole system is completed with the help of the guideline of software engineering. A design for the system is introduced in detail, stating some key technologies using in system realization, and also having a study on some main problems in system realization.

Abstract:Satellite remote sensing is an efficient and economic measurement for earth observation, which has become a major information resource. With the exponential increasing satellite information, it is necessary to design and construct a stable and automatic operational data processing system suitable for different satellites to meet the requirement of marine application. This paper focused on design and construction of a satellite data processing system (SatDPS) for multi-satellites, such as FY-1C/D, NOAA12/14/15/16/17 and EOS/MODIS (AQUA & TERRA). According to software engineering principle, an object-oriented program was designed and modeled. Furthermore, some special data processing techniques have been developed, including multi satellite combination processing programming, collaboration of hardware and software, Windows sockets mechanism, embedded database and SQL, etc. The system has been constructed and tested for half a year in Second Institute of Oceanography, State Oceanic Administration, which can automatically provide the remote sensing products for marine application, such as sea surface temperature, chlorophyll concentration, suspended material concentration, diffusing attenuation coefficient of 490 nm, Secchi Disk depth, vegetation index, optical thickness and so on. The result shows that the constructed system is suitable to process multi-satellites for marine operational application.

Abstract:Web based learning enables more students to have a chance to access the distance learning resources. However, the early experience of using this new learning method in China exposes a few problems, among which the low quality video service is a serious one. This is caused by the difficulty to transfer high quality real-time video on the Internet because of the basic design of the Internet. In this paper, we present a CATV and Internet combined framework to tackle such problems. The framework allows students not only to have a high quality real-time video service, but also to interact with teachers via an interactive question-and-answer system. The main virtue of the framework is that it enables students to access distance learning anytime anywhere with both QoS guarantee and interactive capability. A prototype system based on this framework has already implemented and deployed for more than a year, and a full scale system will be put into running in the near future.

Abstract:The external interactive satellite communication system is a competitive solution for remote education in China.Based on the analysis of the external interactive communication,a new scheme of external interactive satellite communication systems in the network layer is proposed.Details of the system architecture,data processing procedure and key units are also included.Field experiments show that such a system can support both broadcasting and interactive services,which makes it highly flexible and prospective in the applications of distance learning and broadband access network in remote areas.

Abstract:Firstly,the current situation of satellite remote sensing,communication,and computing systems was systematically analyzed,and the real-time remote sensing dilemma existing in the traditional satellite remote sensing systems and the satellite remote sensing communication integrated system architecture was deeply analyzed.Secondly,a multi-satellite and satellite-ground coordination inte-grated system architecture for satellite remote sensing,communication,and computation was put forward,and the key components and the working theories modes of the architecture were introduced in detail.Thirdly,the advantages of this architecture were demonstrated and the feasibility of key technologies was systematically clarified.Finally,the simulation and analysis method based on this architec-ture,which could reach minute-level remote sensing tasks with high timeliness and high potential application value compared with the traditional mode,was elaborated.

Abstract:Real-time simulation of satellite and outer space scene had been found great application in aviation and spaceflight, military affairs and national defence. In this paper, a new method to render dynamic outer space scene was proposed. By integrating the knowledge of Computer Graphics and Astronomy, we first modeled the scene of outer space based on astronomical star catalogue. Then we calculated the tracks of satellites, stars and planets. And the realistic synthesis between satellites and outer space background was achieved. Finally by adapting the accelerated rendering techniques of scene, real-time dynamic outer space scene and interactive virtual walkthrough are successfully realized.

Abstract:Networking is an important developing trend in the field of Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI). A remote control system makes it possible to access remote software and hardware resources and consequently users can achieve their intended aims by means of remote operations. Nowadays, mobile terminals are becoming essential in people's lives, so it is meaningful and significant to use them as a remote control and for data collection. This paper implements a remote control and data collection system based on an Android terminal to facilitate interactive data acquisition, the system uses a mobile terminal to control the data and computing resources of CAI in a PC terminal. This system could be installed on a smart phone or pad to communicate with a PC, implemented by means of a UDP protocol using socket technology. The main functions of the system are: simulating computer peripherals, remote data writing, remote desktop, data collection and management, and uploading data to a server.

Abstract:A prototype of an ATM-based real-time multimedia communication system is developed over Fore Runner ASX-200 ATM switches and the Sun Spare/Solaris platform with ATM adapters and Video Plus. The system includes video/audio collection, compression, playback and transmission over ATM VBR SVC (variable bit-rate switched virtual connection). Client-server mode is adopted in the system to manage the two styles of connection: multicasting and point-to-point connection between two users. A method is also proposed to support the request to join a multicasting group initiated by a client over UNI 3.0/3.1 signaling. To facilitate VBR video over ATM, a leaky-bucket rate control method is developed and employed for reliable and efficient video communication. A multimedia distance learning system built over our framework is also introduced in the paper.

Abstract:This paper presented a general purpose of the WWW based multimedia distance teaching system. A distance teaching system of mechanism and machinery was developed. An easily expanded and integrated system model was presented with a small library of integration tools. A dual server architecture was devised to take advantage of various development tools and to optimize communication between clients and servers. This architecture reduces the amount of multimedia data transferred to the clients. Other innovative steps also reduce the network traffic. The system will accelerate the development of other teaching systems and will improve future teaching practice.

Abstract:The traditional Chinese language and literature distance teaching system has the problem of incomplete instruction recognition function, which leads to the slow connection speed of the system. This paper designs a computer multimedia Chinese language and literature distance teaching system. For the hardware part, strain gauge and sensor are combined, connected to VCC through 10 K ohm pull-up resistance, and connected to other components. The software part obtains the expression form of Chinese language and literature; formulates the training target, according to the antimonotone characteristics of the support degree; adopts the association rule algorithm to build the remote teaching system database, combined with the client to parse the signaling message; and designs the software instruction recognition function by using the computer multimedia technology. Experimental Results. The average connection speeds of the Chinese language and literature distance teaching system in this paper and the other two kinds of Chinese language and literature distance teaching system are 8.737 s, 13.140 s, and 13.156 s, respectively, which proves that the performance of the Chinese language and literature distance teaching system combined with computer multimedia technology is more perfect.

Abstract:Real-time communication has been playing an increasingly important role in our work, life and ocean monitor. With the rapid progress of computer and communication technique as well as the miniaturization of communication system, it is needed to develop the adaptable and reliable real-time communication software in the ocean monitor system. This paper involves the real-time communication software research based on the point-to-point satellite intercommunication system. The object-oriented design method is adopted, which can transmit and receive video data and audio data as well as engineering data by satellite channel. In the real-time communication software, some software modules are developed, which can realize the point-to-point satellite intercommunication in the ocean monitor system. There are three advantages for the real-time communication software. One is that the real-time communication software increases the reliability of the point-to-point satellite intercommunication system working. Second is that some optional parameters are intercalated, which greatly increases the flexibility of the system working. Third is that some hardware is substituted by the real-time communication software, which not only decrease the expense of the system and promotes the miniaturization of communication system, but also aggrandizes the agility of the system.

Abstract:A multimedia telemedicine system (MTS) using transfer control protocol and Internet protocol (TCP/IP) over the Internet is developed. Doctor with patient and doctor can communicate each other using this system. Real-time data, including audio, video and instant message (IM), and non-real-time data, including vital sign signals, radiological images with DICOM 3.0, file, bio-signal, bio-data and so on, can be exchanged on the system. This system's architecture is client/server mode. All data are encoded/compressed before transferring through Internet/Intranet. The real-time audio is encoded and decoded by MPEG (moving picture experts group) audio layer 3 algorithm and real-time video is encoded and decoded by MPEG-4. The software implementation of needed functionality without any externally attached hardware CODEC (coder/decoder) units enables the compact design with low cost. The real-time video has 25 frames per second at local area network (LAN) and more than 20 frames per second at ADSL

Abstract:This paper proposes a maritime transmission scheme in integrated satellite-maritime networks, where the satellite multicast and relay cooperation cooperatively provide the ubiquitous broadband coverage for the whole sea area. Under the proposed network, the maritime users that request the same content or belong to the same fleet can be divided into one user group. Besides, the satellite provides multicast services for the all user groups, while the relay nodes retransmit the signal to other users to reduce the satellite communication cost of user group. However, since the network performance is strongly correlated with satellite links and relay nodes, it is difficult to find out the optimal cooperation solution with low complexity. Meanwhile, the user groups work in the same carrier frequency, which inevitably causes the co-channel interferences among groups. Considering these factors, we propose a cooperative access and power allocation algorithms, respectively. The cooperative access algorithm is based on channel quality and considers the channel quality of satellite and relay node simultaneously. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme can effective improve system performance compared with existing scheme.

Abstract:Satellite Data Remote Broadcast System (RBS) which installed in remote computer or video wall is a satellite data presentation system used to display and monitor remote sensing data. In order to achieve the remote operations of RBS, Integrated Control System (ICS) developed based on .NET Remoting is proposed in this paper. The paper expatiates on the architecture of RBS and .NET Remoting, the software flow of C/S mode and the final implementation. Practice shows that ICS does not depend on specific hardware platforms, and meet the requirements of real-time property and reliability, also increases RBS's interaction with users. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media.

Abstract:This paper described a distance learning system, which allows Internet users to conduct a lesson in real-time from any kinds- attached computers. Participants can jointly view and edit relevant multimedia information distributed through Internet. Teachers and students can also simultaneously communicate by voice and text to discuss the problems. Teacher can broadcast streaming PowerPoint presentation in real time to network users. In addition to sliders, presenters can broadcast video and audio simultaneously to deliver a live multimedia show online, and store their presentations for on-demand playback. Teachers distributed in different places can also use cooperative editing tool to edit and encode existing digital content. We discussed some important design principles of the system. Then, the system configuration and the results of evaluation are also presented. The system has proved to be applicable to the distance learning based on CSCW (Computer Support Cooperative Work) in Internet.

Abstract:Live teaching is one of two basic e-learning modes. In this paper, a novel interactive live teaching system named SkyClass based on the hybrid platform of satellite and ground IP network is modeled, SkyClass uses receive-only satellite links for live lecture broadcasting, and ground network to realize outside interaction. Three key issues of SkyClass, live lecture field broadcasting over the hybrid of satellite and ground IP, large scale communications and management, live lecture field recording and stream courseware generating automatically, are discussed SkyClass has already been implemented and applied on the platform of ASIA-2R satellite and ChinaNet and CERNET (China Educational and Research Network) in the distance learning project of west area of China since Sept. 2003, it was proved that not only can SkyClass support large scale (more than 2500 remote sites) live lecture broadcasting and outside interaction, but also shows good extendibility, reliability, and easy of use.

Abstract:The design and implementation of communication system for remote sensing is introduced via fiber.The configuration of system and design of communication software are introduced too.The advantages of fiber and point-to-point structure are used in the system.The communication is composed of serial communication and LAN communication.Multithreading technique based on API is used in serial communication.And LAN communication is C/S model with socket.The transport of remote sensing data is achieved.And this system has been extended to be a multi-service transport platform.The running results indicate that the system's performance is reliable in scientific research test.
