Abstract:This note concerns the robust absolute stability analysis for a class of general neutral type Lurie indirect control systems with nonlinearity located in an infinite sector or finite one. By using Lyapunov functional of quadratic form with integral term and introducing some free-weighting matrices, some delay-dependent robust absolute stability criteria are presented in terms of strict linear matrix inequalities. Neither model transformation nor bounding technique is required here. The obtained criteria are less conservative than previous ones, which are illustrated by numerical examples.

Abstract:This note is concerned with the absolute stability analysis for time-delay Lurie control systems with nonlinearity located in an infinite sector and finite one. By using a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional that splits the whole delay interval into two subintervals and defines a different energy function on each subinterval and introducing some free-weighting matrices, some new delay-dependent robustly absolute stability criteria are presented in terms of strict linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The obtained delay-dependent criteria are less conservative than previous ones, as are illustrated by numerical examples.

Abstract:In this paper, the problem of absolute stability for general Lurie control systems with multi-nonlinear feedback terms is investigated. From the Lyapunov function approach, new necessary and sufficient conditions and some practical sufficient conditions of absolute stability are derived, which improve the absolute stability for the set. A numerical example illustrates the effectiveness of the proposed results.

Abstract:In this paper the authors study two classes of time-varying nonlinear control systems. A few sufficient conditions of absolute stability of these systems were obtained by means of classical analysis and the analogue of the variation of constants formula of nonlinear systems. Moreover, they gave some sufficient conditions of absolute stability in Hurwitz angle for these systems.

Abstract:Based on the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, this paper analyzes the absolute stability of Lurie type control systems with multiple time-varying delays in both state and control input. Several sufficient conditions for the absolute stability of such systems are obtained. The derived sufficient conditions are expressed in terms of LMI to find the less conservative criteria. Finally, a numerical example is given to demonstrate that the derived conditions are less conservative than that \\{given\\} in the literature.

Abstract:In this paper, the robust stability of a linear system with constant output feedback in the presence of structured uncertainty is analyzed with characterizing a region in the parameter space. A new necessary and sufficient condition of robust stability for the closed loop system with a single parameter uncertainty is given. And the algebraic expressions on a stability region of the closed loop system with multiparameter uncertainty, which is interesting in practical engineering have been derived and a sufficient condition which the closed loop system is robust stable is given also. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the results.

Abstract:This paper investigates the stabilizability of linear systems with closed-loop positivity. A necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of desired state-feedback controllers guaranteeing the resultant closed-loop system to be asymptotically stable and positive is obtained. Both continuous and discrete-time cases are considered, and all of the conditions are expressed as linear matrix inequalities which can be easily verified by using standard numerical software. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the proposed conditions.

Abstract:The absolute stabilization problem for Lur'e systems with multiple nonlinear loops is discussed based on state-space approach in this paper. Solvability conditions are presented to design nonlinear controllers such that the closed-loop system is absolutely stable via the algebraic matrix inequality (AMI) approach. It is shown that feedback controllers exist if and only if a class of special multilinear matrix inequalities (MLMIs) are solvable. Also, the AMI-based design method obtained in this paper is simplified to be computationally feasible and tractable. The approach can be generalized to deal with other problems such as H2, H∞ and dissipation control problem.

Abstract:By employing the control Lyapunov function,a class of discrete-time nonlinear systems with multiple inputs was researched. Under the assumption that there exists a quadratic control Lyapunov function, a feedback control law was provided explicitly which renders the origin of this class of systems globally asymptotically stable.Applying the LaSalle invariance principle, a sufficient condition for stabilizing the closed-loop systems was established. This result is generalization and improvement of the feedback stabilization for single-input discrete-time systems affine in the control.

Abstract:The sufficient and necessary conditions for Lyapunov stability of the zero equilibrium point of Lorenz system are discussed, and some brief criteria are presented for globally exponential stability, globally asymptotical stability and instability. Furthermore, the behavior of the non-zero equilibrium point of Lorenz system is also investigated, and several sufficient and necessary conditions are provided for locally exponential stability and instability. The established theorems in this paper develop and extend the existing achievements on Lyapunov stability of Lorenz system. In conclusion, by applying the obtained results, some less conservative feedback-control laws are derived to guarantee the globally exponential stability of the chaos control of Chen system, Lü system, Yang-Chen system and Yu-Xia Li system.

Abstract:The absolute stability of Lurie system with multiple time delays and nonlinearities is considered in this paper. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory, using the descriptor system approach and the method of decomposing matrices, a novel delay-dependent sufficient condition for the absolute stability of Lurie system is derived and expressed in the form of the linear matrix inequality (LMI). The maximum upper bound of the allowable delay is obtained by solving a convex optimization problem. A numerical example shows that the result obtained in this paper improved the estimate of the stability limit over some existing results.

Abstract:The stabilization of unstable equilibrium points of a new chaotic system is studied.According to Lyapunov stability theory,appropriate non-linear feedback controller and linear state feedback controller are designed to make any unstable equilibrium point exponentially stable when the parameters of system are certain.When the parameters are unknown,by means of an adaptive control strategy,corresponding controller is designed to make any unstable equilibrium point asymptotically stable.Numerical simulations confirm the effectiveness of these control methods.

Abstract:This paper presents a unified Lyapunov-based predefined-time stability theorem that includes three sufficient conditions. The standard theoretical analysis method for achieving predefined-time stability of non-linear systems using this theorem is provided within the framework of Lyapunov theory. The developed Lyapunov-based theorem facilitates the establishment of equivalence between the existing Lyapunov theorems concerning predefined-time stability. Furthermore, when the presented sufficient conditions are relaxed, the predefined-time stability conclusion for non-linear systems degenerates into a finite-time one. Consequently, a standard non-singular sliding mode control framework based on the unified Lyapunov-based theorem is developed for a Lagrangian system to ensure its predefined-time stability. Exemplary numerical simulation results are subsequently given, in order to illustrate the convergence behavior of the system states and confirm that the controlled systems are predefined-time stable.

Abstract:Finite time stability involves dynamical systems whose trajectories converge to an equilibrium state in finite time. Sufficient conditions for finite time stability have recently been developed in the literature for discrete-time dynamical systems. In this paper, we build on these results to develop a framework for addressing the problem of optimal nonlinear analysis and feedback control for finite time stability and finite time stabilization for nonlinear discrete-time controlled dynamical systems. Finite time stability of the closed-loop nonlinear system is guaranteed by means of a Lyapunov function that satisfies a difference inequality involving fractional powers and a minimum operator. This Lyapunov function can clearly be seen to be the solution to a difference equation that corresponds to a steady-state form of the Bellman equation, and hence, guaranteeing both finite time stability and optimality.
