Abstract:A receding horizon optimal control law is proposed in this paper based on a given stable generalized predictive controller(SGPC) configuration.Obtained by optimizing the objective function over the future reference signals,this control law can track with zero offset the constant set point.The sufficient condition is also given to ensure the closed-loop stability.Finally,numerical simulations are performed to show that the presented SGPC gnarantees the closed-loop system to be free from steady-state error and is applicable to the plant with zeros and poles which can be nearly cancelled.

Abstract:Different feedback control strategies of a generalized load..,system are Studied. Dynamics model of load simulator is built and properties of multi-degrees of freedom (DOF) loading system are analyzed. Different control strategies based on lea space force loop (LSFL) and operation space generalized force loop (OSFL) are proposed respectively. Discussions of these two strategies on the convergence of steady-state error and spatial stiffness are carried out. Conclusions show that OSFL Could ultimately converge to the desired generalized force while LSFL is more suitable for calculating real-time stiffness. Hybrid feedback control strategy is presented based on conclusions, simulation results prove that the controller decreases the steady-state error and is fit for real-time Computing.

Abstract:The stability criterion of closed-loop control system for the SISO discrete nonlinear system with polynomial class was proposed, which is represented by nonlinear transfer function based on Volterra series. From the criterion, it has been shown that the zeros and poles of linear transfer function corresponding to one-order approximation play a main role in stability of the system. The simulation results have shown that the criterion is simple and practical due to discarding computation for complex norm.

Abstract:Mittag–Leffler stability is a property of fractional-order dynamical systems, also called fractional Lyapunov stability, requiring the evolution of the positive-definite functions to be Mittag–Leffler, rather than the exponential meaning in Lyapunov stability theory. Similarly, fractional Lyapunov function plays an important role in the study of Mittag–Leffler stability. The aim of this study is to create closed-loop systems for commensurate fractional-order non-linear systems (FONSs) with Mittag–Leffler stability. We extend the classical backstepping to fractional-order backstepping for stabilising (uncertain) FONSs. For this purpose, several conditions of control fractional Lyapunov functions for FONSs are investigated in terms of Mittag–Leffler stability. Within this framework, (uncertain) FONSs Mittag–Leffler stabilisation is solved via fractional-order backstepping and the global convergence of closed-loop systems is guaranteed. Finally, the efficiency and applicability of the proposed fractional-order backstepping are demonstrated in several examples.
Nonlinear H-infinity control of flow-coupled system with secondary regulation using GFRF in frequency domain

Abstract:The flow-coupled system with secondary regulation was a nonlinear system. Its generalized frequency response function (GFRF) was obtained through the iterative method of SISO system using Volterra series. On the basis of GFRF, the stabilized controller and the nonlinear H-infinity controller were designed by nonlinear control theory in frequency domain. The simulation results show that the system becomes stable after a linear controller was added. The nonlinear H-infinity controllers eliminate the system steady error and overshoot. They are working better in rejecting white noise disturbances than the linear H-infinity controller.

Abstract:Based on the GFRF (generalized frequency response function), H∞ identification for nonlinear system is investigated using the set membership identification theory. We applied the three-order truncated Volterra series to describe the nonlinear system, and accomplished the model identification by the Householder transformation that is a kind of orthogonal decomposition, and then derived the GFRF of the system. Moreover, by means of the set membership identification we give a measure of the model perturbation in a form well suited for H∞-control methodologies. The effectiveness of the proposed procedure is tested on the numerical simulation.

Abstract:In this paper we develop a general fuzzy control scheme for nonlinear processes. Assuming little knowledge about the dynamics of the controlled process, the proposed scheme starts by probing the process at different points in its operating region to generate a fuzzy quantisation. A simple local controller is then designed at each fuzzy locality. A fuzzy inference mechanism then links up tje local controllers to form a global controller which can be further refined by the learning algorithm. By employing a newly developed structure-adaptive fuzzy modelling scheme, the appropriate fuzzy rule-base for the inference mechanism can be extracted stably and efficiently. The conditions for the stability of the global controller are rigourously established. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the scheme.

Abstract:Measurement and Control, Ahead of Print. The nonlinear system control is a classical problem in control engineering. In this paper, rather than try to get accurate nonlinear dynamics, the nonlinear and uncertain dynamics are viewed as a signal. It can be estimated by an extended state observer, and compensated by a control law. Accordingly, the nonlinear uncertain system is linearized. Based on the linearized system and the key point of the U-model control, a controller can be designed to obtain predetermined closed-loop system dynamics. To get a more satisfactory performance, a compensation signal of the total disturbance estimation (CSTDE) is designed. Based on the CSTDE, a compensation of the total disturbance estimation based extended state observer (CTDESO) and a fast-response active disturbance rejection control (FRADRC) are proposed. Convergence of the CTDESO and the closed-loop stability of the FRADRC are analyzed. Four nonlinear systems are considered to testify the proposed approaches. Numerical results show that, no matter disturbances exist or not, the proposed CTDESO can linearize a nonlinear system better, and the predetermined closed-loop responses can also be achieved more satisfactorily by the FRADRC.

Abstract:<p>In this paper, we propose a new General Stability Criterion (GSC) for the stability analysis of the nonlinear fractional-order systems(FOs) with time delay at all levels based on the deduction of Wirtinger inequality, Integral mean value theorem(IMVT), fractional-order Lyapunov method, and our initiated general Lemma (WILL Deduction Method). This proposed WILL-Deduction method initiates a general lemma to simplify the construction of the GSC. Therefore, the GSC prevails over the previous criteria in that it solves the stability puzzle of all FOs, including all kinds of time-delay with greater flexibility. For all the fractional-order parameters<span class="math"><math>α∈0,1</math></span>, the GSC is effective. In conclusion, the initially proposed GSC has generality and universality with more efficiency. Finally the numerical simulations has proved the correctness and universality of GSC .</p>

Abstract:The paper investigates the problem of adaptive finite-time robust stabilization for a set of high-order uncertain nonlinear systems in the presence of asymmetric output constraint, dynamic uncertainty and complicated external disturbances. Via effectively integrating the artful Barrier Lyapunov Function (BLF) in conjunction with the continuous control armed with a serial of integral functions consisting of embedded sign operations, a continuous controller is generated, which promises that the closed-loop system's states converge to a compact set within finite time whilst preserving the validity of the output constraint. Preferable to the current techniques, the suggested methodology unifies the construct and theoretical evaluation for the constrained and unconstrained output as well as being able to concurrently handle the output asymmetric constraints, zero dynamics and complex external disturbances. Finally, an instance of simulation is included to illustrate the validity of the established methodology.

Abstract:In this paper, a novel global non-recursive stabilisation design framework is addressed for a class of inherent non-linear systems with the presence of system uncertainties and external nonvanishing disturbances. By virtue of the facility that the weighted homogeneity brings into the system synthesis procedure, a non-recursive design method is proposed to yield a globally effectiveness robust controller with its expression following a quasi-linear manner. By proceeding with a rigorous non-recursive stability analysis framework, which covers both global asymptotical and finite-time convergence cases, the common recursively treated derivative items in backstepping-based methods are totally avoided. Inspired by the homogeneous domination technique, a scaling gain performed as a bandwidth factor is introduced into the original system and hence the robustness of the controlled system can be adjusted to meet the practical performance requirements. A numerical example and its control performance simulations are given to illustrate the effectiveness and simplicity of the proposed controller design framework.

Abstract:According to the characteristics of the fractional frequency transmission system (FFTS), the paper proposes a method of designing the nonlinear excitation controller for the fractional frequency transmission system based on nonlinear differential geometric control theory. This nonlinear excitation controller designed using this method can not only enhance the stability of FFTS but also decrease the fluctuation of generator voltage. The simulation results show that the proposed nonlinear excitation controller can improve not only the FFTS stability but also the regulating accuracy of generator voltage as compared with the conventional nonlinear excitation controller.

Abstract:This paper is considered with the robust stabilization problem of a class of nonlinear systems with bounded uncertain time-invariant parameters. A robust control Lyapunov function (RCLF) is introduced for the considered system. Based on the RCLF, a globally asymptotically stabilizing controller is then designed. The proposed controller is robust under the variant of system parameters. As the applications of the proposed scheme, the stabilization of uncertain feedback linearizable systems and the unified chaotic system are investigated, respectively. A numerical example on the unified chaotic system is also provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the presented method.

Abstract:Summary The objective of this paper is to develop performance‐based fault detection (FD) and fault‐tolerant control (FTC) schemes for a class of nonlinear systems. To this end, the representation forms of nonlinear systems with faults and the controller parameterization forms are studied first with the aid of the nonlinear factorization technique. Then, based on the stable kernel representation and the stable image representation of the faulty nonlinear system, the stability performance of the closed‐loop system is addressed, respectively. The so‐called fault‐tolerant margin is defined to evaluate the system fault‐tolerant ability. On this basis, two performance‐based FD schemes are developed aiming at detecting the system performance degradation caused by system faults. Furthermore, to recover the system stability performance, two performance‐based FTC strategies are proposed based on the information provided by the FD unit. In the end, a numerical example and a case study on the three‐tank system are given to demonstrate the proposed results.

Abstract:This work deals with the finite time stability of generalized proportional fractional systems with time delay. First, based on the generalized proportional Grönwall inequality, we derive an explicit criterion that enables the system trajectories to stay within a priori given sets during a pre-specified time interval, in terms of the Mittag-Leffler function. Then, we investigate the finite time stability of nonlinear nonhomogeneous delayed systems by means of an approach based on Hölder's and Jensen's inequalities. Numerical applications are presented to illustrate the validity and feasibility of the developed results.

Abstract:We present in this paper a continuous feedback approach to the problem of global strong stabilization, for genuinely nonlinear systems that may not be stabilized, even locally, by any smooth feedback. We describe conditions under which it is possible to prove, while no smooth controllers exist, the existence of continuous state feedback control laws that achieve global strong stability (GSS) in the sense of Kurzweil. The proof is constructive and carried out by developing a machinery, which combines the theory of homogeneous systems with the idea of adding a power integrator, for the explicit construction of globally stabilizing continuous controllers. We then illustrate, by means of examples, how this machinery can be used to overcome the topological obstruction caused by smooth feedback, and hence resulting in new solutions to a variety of open control problems, including global stabilization of an underactuated unstable two degree of freedom mechanical system.
