Abstract:A new method for concentrating pulverized coal using centred jet with large velocity difference at the exit of primary air was presented. The cold test and numerical simulation show that this method has noticeable effect of concentrating pulverized coal, so that it can be used for reducing NOx emission and improving combustion stability for pulverized coal fired furnace. It can overcome some disadvantages caused by centrifugal separation, such as improper concentration control and bad mixing of pulverized coal, blockage and erosion of coal pipe and slagging in furnace.
