Pharmacokinetics and relative bioavailability studies of clindamycin phosphate in healthy volunteers

Abstract:8 healthy volunteers received the clindamycin phosphate injection made by Shandong Xinhua Pharmaceutical plant and the same drugs imported from U.S.A. The serum concentration vs. time curve following a single iv or im administration of those injection were well fitted for two compartments open model. The pharmacokinetic parameters of domestic and imported clindamycin phosphate by iv were: C(max) 6.81 and 5.85 mg/L, T(1/2��) 2.30 and 2.3l h, V(d) 33.80 and 35.01 L, Cl(s) 19.52 and 21.01 ml/min, AUC 16.00 and 14.96 h �� mg/L. The pharmacokinetic parameters of domestic clindamycin phosphate by im were similar with iv. Relative bioavailability of domestic im injection was 111.4% compared with imported iv injection.
