Abstract:This is the third Teachers of Psychiatry (TOP) meeting to be held in the Asia-Pacific region; however, it is the first time to be co-sponsored by the Pacific Rim College of Psychiatrists (PRCP) and held in China (Figure 1). The goal of the TOP meeting is to help us to re-think and re-examine how we can provide better clinical service, and improve educational programs and research. The new decade heralds unprecedented opportunities for us to engage and connect with other colleagues. The theme of this meeting, “Evaluation to Improve Quality of Education, Service and Research”, is relevant to all who work in the field of mental health, whether in academia or in public healthcare. The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss and collaborate on future training programs and research projects around the Asia-Pacific region. China does have its own evaluation system for research. Nevertheless, it is essential to learn from other countries and to improve the evaluation skills of researchers for the benefit of our future research programs. This brief report will highlight the third part of the theme “Evaluation to Improve Quality of Research”.
