Abstract:Objective: To determine the risk factors affecting hepatic metastasis from colorectal cancer. Methods: The clinicopathological factors, such as gender, age, tumor size, histological grade, lymph node metastasis and serum level of tumor markers were analyzed in 101 cases of colorectal cancer with hepatic metastasis and 81 cases without hepatic metastasis. Results: The elevated serum levels of CEA, CA125, and CA19-9 were associated with hepatic metastasis. Logistic regression analysis revealed that the independent risk factors of hepatic metastasis were the serum level of CEA, CA125, and CA19-9 (P<0.05). Conclusion: The serum levels of CEA, CA125, and CA19-9 were statistically significant risk factors for hepatic metastasis from colorectal cancer.
