Abstract:The influence of phosphate concentration on anaerobic ammonia oxidation (Anammox) reaction was investigated using a lab-scale up-flow Anammox biofilter reactor in this study. The experimental conditions were controlled at temperature of (25± 1)°C, pH values of 7.5~7.7, the concentration of NH4 +-N was 30~45 mg/L, NO2 --N was 30~45 mg/L and COD was less than 10 mg/L. The results showed that phosphate concentration had no effect on the Anammox reactor when TP < 5 mg/L, the NH4 +-N removal was inhibited and removal rate of TN was reduced when TP was between 5 mg/L and 7.5 mg/L. The systems recovered quickly when stop dosing phosphate.
