Abstract:We study the long-time behavior of the solution to the connection Ricci flow on closed three-manifolds. The connection Ricci flow is a generalization of the Ricci flow to connection with torsion. We compare the evolving metrics under the connection Ricci flow and Ricci flow for some special cases. We obtain the blow-up rate of the Ricci tensor under the connection Ricci flow. Based on the result, we give the classification of the maximal solutions to the flow.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the CR (Cauchy-Riemann) Yamabe flow with zero CR Yamabe invariant. We use the CR Poincaré inequality and a Gagliardo-Nirenberg type interpolation inequality to show that this flow has the long time solution and the solution converges to a contact form with flat pseudo-Hermitian scalar curvature exponentially.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the total mass of asymptotically flat Riemannian manifold under the connection Ricci flow, which can also be viewed as renormalization group flow for nonlinear sigma model. Using the maximum principle, we show that the asymptotically Euclidean property is preserved under this flow. Moreover, if the decay rate of the AE manifold is fast enough, then the ADM mass is invariant under the flow.

Abstract:Recently, Pipoli and Sinestrari [Pipoli, G. and Sinestrari, C., Mean curvature flow of pinched submanifolds of ℝℙ n , Comm. Anal. Geom. , 25 , 2017, 799–846] initiated the study of convergence problem for the mean curvature flow of small codimension in the complex projective space ℝℙ m . The purpose of this paper is to develop the work due to Pipoli and Sinestrari, and verify a new convergence theorem for the mean curvature flow of arbitrary codimension in the complex projective space. Namely, the authors prove that if the initial submanifold in ℝℙ m satisfies a suitable pinching condition, then the mean curvature flow converges to a round point in finite time, or converges to a totally geodesic submanifold as t → ∞. Consequently, they obtain a differentiable sphere theorem for submanifolds in the complex projective space.

Abstract:We study Ricci flows on $R^n$, $n\ge 3$, that evolve from asymptotically flat initial data. Under mild conditions on the initial data, we show that the flow exists and remains asymptotically flat for an interval of time. The mass is constant in time along the flow. We then specialize to the case of rotationally symmetric, asymptotically flat initial data containing no embedded minimal hyperspheres. We show that in this case the flow is immortal, remains asymptotically flat, never develops a minimal hypersphere, and converges to flat Euclidean space as the time diverges to infinity. We discuss the behaviour of quasi-local mass under the flow, and relate this to a conjecture in string theory.

Abstract:We prove that the Ricci flow for complete metrics with bounded geometry depends continuously on initial conditions for finite time with no loss of regularity. This relies on our recent work where sectoriality for the generator of the Ricci-DeTurck flow is proved. We use this to prove that for initial metrics sufficiently close in Hölder norm to a rotationally symmetric asymptotically hyperbolic metric and satisfying a simple curvature condition, but a priori distant from the hyperbolic metric, Ricci flow converges to the hyperbolic metric.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the global Kähler–Ricci flow on a complete non-compact Kähler manifold. We prove the following result. Assume that (M,g_0) is a complete non-compact Kähler manifold such that there is a potential function f of the Ricci tensor, i.e., R_ij̅(g_0)=f_ij̅. Assume that the quantity |f|_C^0+|∇ _g_0f|_C^0 is finite and the L^2 Sobolev inequality holds true on (M,g_0) . Then the Kahler–Ricci flow with the initial metric g_0 either blows up at finite time or infinite time to Ricci-flat metric or exists globally with Ricci-flat limit at infinite time. Related results are also discussed.

For any Kähler-Einstein surfaces with positive scalar curvature, if the initial metric has positive bisectional curvature, then we have proved (see [10]) that the Kähler-Ricci flow converges exponentially to a unique Kähler-Einstein metric in the end. Abstract:In this paper we study $n$-dimensional Ricci flows $(M^n,g(t))_{t\in [0,T)},$ where $T< \infty$ is a potentially singular time, and for which the spatial $L^p$ norm, $p>\frac n 2$, of the scalar curvature is uniformly bounded on $[0,T).$ In the case that $M$ is closed, we show that non-collapsing and non-inflating estimates hold. If we further assume that $n=4$ or that $M^n$ is Kähler, we explain how these non-inflating/non-collapsing estimates can be combined with integral bounds on the Ricci and full curvature tensor of the prequel paper <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2406.02351" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2406.02351">arXiv:2406.02351</a> to obtain an improved space time integral bound of the Ricci curvature. As an application of these estimates, we show that if we further restrict to $n=4$, then the solution convergences to an orbifold as $t \to T$ and that the flow can be extended using the Orbifold Ricci flow to the time interval $ [0,T+\sigma)$ for some $\sigma>0.$ We also prove local versions of many of the results mentioned above.

Abstract:In this note, we will prove that given a sequence of Ricci flows. (M-k, g(k)(t)) of dimension n, t is an element of [-1, 0], with Ricci curvature bounded below uniformly and volume non-collapsing, (M-k, g(k) (0)) converge as a sequence of manifolds to a limit length space(X, d). The regular part of (X, d)must be open and the convergence is of C-1,C-alpha regularity. As a corollary of this result, we prove that in dimension 3, a Ricci flow can always extend unless either its Ricci curvature goes to -infinity or it shrinks to a point.

Abstract:In this paper, we continue to study the generalized Ricci flow. We give a criterion on steady gradient Ricci soliton on complete and noncompact Riemannian manifolds that is Ricci-flat, and then introduce a natural flow whose stable points are Ricci-flat metrics. Modifying the argument used by Shi and List, we prove the short time existence and higher order derivatives estimates.

Abstract:We show that a simply-connected closed four-dimensional Ricci flow whose Ricci curvature is uniformly bounded below and whose volume does not approach zero must converge to a orbifold at any finite-time singularity, so has an extension through the singularity via orbifold Ricci flow. Moreover, a Type-I blowup of the flow based at any orbifold point converges to a flat cone in the Gromov–Hausdorff sense, without passing to a subsequence. In addition, we prove bounds for the curvature tensor on time-slices for any . In higher dimensions, we show that every singular point of the flow is a Type-II point, and that any tangent flow at a singular point is a static flow corresponding to a Ricci flat cone.

Abstract:Let (M, g) be a closed Riemann surface. Castéras (Pac J Math 276:321–345, 2015) introduced a mean field type flow and obtained its global existence. For $$\rho \ne 8N\pi $$ , assuming in addition that $$J_\rho (v(t))\ge -C$$ for $$\rho >8\pi $$ , they showed the convergence of the flow. In this paper, we will prove the convergence of the flow for the critical case $$\rho =8\pi $$ with some appropriate initial data $$v_0$$ and some geometric hypothesis. In particular, this gives a new proof of Ding–Jost–Li–Wang’s result in (Asian J Math 1:230–248, 1997).

Abstract:We study the Ricci flow out of spaces with edge type conical singularities along a closed, embedded curve. Under the additional assumption that for each point of the curve, our space is locally modelled on the product of a fixed positively curved cone and a line, we show existence of a solution to Ricci flow $(M,g(t))$ for $t\in (0,T],$ which converges back to the singular space as $t\searrow 0$ in the pointed Gromov-Hausdorff topology. We also prove curvature estimates for the solution and, for edge points, we show that the tangent flow at these points is a positively curved expanding Ricci soliton solution crossed with a line.

Abstract:We study the Kähler-Ricci flow on compact Kähler manifolds whose canonical bundle is big. We show that the normalized Kähler-Ricci flow has long time existence in the viscosity sense, is continuous in a Zariski open set, and converges to the unique singular Kähler-Einstein metric in the canonical class. The key ingredient is a viscosity theory for degenerate complex Monge-Ampère flows in big classes that we develop, extending and refining the approach of Eyssidieux-Guedj-Zeriahi.

Abstract:In this paper we investigate a kind of generalized Ricci flow which possesses a gradient form. We study the monotonicity of the given function under the generalized Ricci flow and prove that the related system of partial differential equations are strictly and uniformly parabolic. Based on this, we show that the generalized Ricci flow defined on a $n$-dimensional compact Riemannian manifold admits a unique short-time smooth solution. Moreover, we also derive the evolution equations for the curvatures, which play an important role in our future study.

Abstract: In our previous paper math.DG/0010008, we develop some new techniques in attacking the convergence problems for the K\"ahler Ricci flow. The one of main ideas is to find a set of new functionals on curvature tensors such that the Ricci flow is the gradient like flow of these functionals. We successfully find such functionals in case of Kaehler manifolds. On K\"ahler-Einstein manifold with positive scalar curvature, if the initial metric has positive bisectional curvature, we prove that these functionals have a uniform lower bound, via the effective use of Tian's inequality. Consequently, we prove the following theorem: Let $M$ be a K\"ahler-Einstein manifold with positive scalar curvature. If the initial metric has nonnegative bisectional curvature and positive at least at one point, then the K\"ahler Ricci flow will converge exponentially fast to a K\"ahler-Einstein metric with constant bisectional curvature. Such a result holds for K\"ahler-Einstein orbifolds.
