Expression of Protease Activated Receptor-2 in Gastric Stromal Tumor and Its Clinical Significance

Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression of protease activated recepter-2(PAR-2)in gastric stromal tumor and its relationship to clinical pathologic characters of the tumor.Methods The expression of PAR-2 protein in the center of tumor,gastric tissue adjacent to tumor and normal gastric tissue of 72 patients with gastric stromal tumor were determined by RT-PCR and Western blot,based on which the relationship between expression level and clinical pathologic characters of the tumor was analyzed.Results The mRNA transcription and protein expression levels of PAR-2 were significantly higher in the center of tumor and gastric tissue adjacent to tumor than in normal gastric tissue(P 0.05 or P 0.01), and in center of tumor than in gastric tissue adjacent to tumor(P 0.01).However,both the mRNA transcription and protein expression levels of PAR-2 in center of tumor increased significantly with the increasing NIH grade(P 0.05 or P 0.01),and was closely related to mucosal invasion(P 0.05).Conclusion The expression level of PAR-2 in gastric stromal tumor was significantly higher than those in gastric tissue adjacent to tumor and normal gastric tissue,which might be related to the invasion and metastasis of gastric stromal tumor.
