Abstract:Eight compounds were isolated from the aerial part of Lygodium japonicum, and identified as linarin, diosmin, acacetin-7-O-(6″-O-α-L-rhamnopyanosy)-β-sophoroside, nicotflorin, roseoside, vanillic acid, pentacosanoic acid and hexacosanoic acid.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To study the chemical constituents of Lygodium japonicum.METHOD:Column chromatographic techniques were used for isolation and purification of chemical constituents of this plant and their structures were identified by spectroscopic analysis.RESULT:Eight compounds were isolated and identified as tilianin (I), kaempferol-7-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranoside (II), kaempferol (III), p-coumaric acid (IV), hexadecanoic acid 2, 3-dihydroxy-propyl ester (V), daucosterol (VI), beta-sitosterol (VII, and 1-hentriacontanol (VIII) respectively.CONCLUSION:Compounds I, II, V, VI, VII, VIII were isolated from L. japonicum for the first time, compounds I, II, V were isolated from genus Lygodium for the first time.

Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents from the fruits of Lycium barbarum.Methods The compounds were isolated and purified by column chromatography and RP-HPLC.Their structures were elucidated by means of physicochemical properties and spectroscopic analyses(UV,MS,1H-NMR,and13C-NMR).Results Twelve compounds were separated and identified,including six phenolic acids: protocatechuic acid(1),dihydroisoferulic acid(2),caffeic acid(3),Z-p-hydroxy-cinnamic acid(4),E-p-hydroxy-cinnamic acid(5),and trans-cinnamic acid(6);Three coumarins: scopoletin(7),isoscopoletin(8),esculetin(9);Two pyrrole derivatives: 4-[formyl-5-(hydroxymethyl)-1H-pyrrol-1-yl] butanoic acid(10) and 4-[formyl-5-(methoxymethyl)-1H-pyrrol-1yl] butanoic acid(11);and 4′-hydroxyacetophenone(12).Conclusion Except compounds 3,5,and 7,others are isolated from this plant for the first time.Compounds 2,4,8,9,and 12 are firstly isolated from the plants in genus of Lycium L.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To study the chemical constituents of the herb of Lygodium japonicum.METHODS:The constituents isolated by column chromatography and their structrues were elucidated through spectroscopic analysis.RESULTS:The compounds were identified as 3,4-dihydroxyl benzoic acid 4-O-beta-D-(4'-O-methyl) glucopyranoside (I), protocatechuic acid (II), acacetin 7-O-(6'-O-a-L-rhamnopyranosyl)-beta-sophoroside (III), 6,8-di-glucosylapigenin (vinenin) (IV), tricin-7-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (V), 2-anilino-1,4-naphthoquinone (VI).CONCLUSION:All these compounds are obtained from Lygodiaeae for the first time.

Abstract:To investigate the chemical constituents from the aerial parts of Lygodium japonicum. Methods:Various chromatographic techniques were employed for isolation and purification of the constituents. The structures were elucidated by chemical evidence and spectral methods. Results:A new stigmasterol glycoside,(24R)-stigmastan-3β,5α,6β-triol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (1),together with three known phenolic glycosides:6-O-p-coumaroyl-D-glucopyranose (2),6-O-caffeoyl-D-glucopyranose (3),1-O-(E)-caffeoyl-β-D-gentiobiose (4) were obtained and identified by spectroscopic methods. Conclusion:All compounds were isolated from Lygodiaceae for the first time.

Abstract:Ten compounds were isolated and purified by column chromatography with silica gel,Sephadex LH-20 and preparative HPLC from the aerial parts of Inula japonica Thunb..On the basis of physicochemical properties and spectroscopic data,their structures were identified as ayapin ( 1 ),7 -hydroxycoumarin (2),daphnetin (3),scopoletin (4),wedelolactone (5),citrusin C ( 6 ),medioresinol (7),syringic acid ( 8 ),vanillic acid ( 9 ),and isovanillic acid ( 10 ).Compounds 1-10 were isolated from I.japonica for the first time.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To investigate the chemical constituents from the ethanol extract of the stems of Lonicera japonica.METHOD:The constituents were isolated and purified by repeated column chromatography on silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 and MCI HP-20. Their structures were identified by phsicochemical properties and spectroscopic analysis.RESULT:Thirteen compounds were isolated and identified as protocatechuic acid (1), caffeic acid (2), macranthoin G (3), esculetin (4), luteolin (5), quercetin (6), apigenin (7), luteolin-7-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (8), isorhamnetin-7-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (9), diosmetin-7-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (10), rhoifolin (11), lonicerin (12), hydnocarpin D (13).CONCLUSION:Compound 4, 7, 9-11 were isolated from this plant for the first time, while compound 13 was first reported flavanolignan from this genus Lonicera.

Abstract:A new compound, 4-O-caffeoyl-D-glucopyranose (1), and a new natural product, 3-O-caffeoyl-D-glucopyranose (2), together with six known compounds (3-8) were isolated from the aerial parts of Lygodium japonicum. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic data analyses. The oxygen radical absorbance capacity assay was applied to evaluate their antioxidative capacities in vitro, which revealed that 1-8 showed strong antioxidative properties.

Abstract:To find a simple way to isolate the constituents of Lonicera japonica,selective extraction methods were employed.Compound Ⅰ was isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of Lonicera japonica by the selective extraction,then compounds Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ were isolated from the remaining ethyl acetate extract by silica gel column chromatography successively.Their structures were elucidated by means of physico-chemical properties,MS,IR and NMR evidences as 3′,4′,5′,5,7-Pentamethoxy flavone(Ⅰ),luteolin(Ⅱ),quercetin(Ⅲ) and chlorogenic acid(Ⅳ),respectively.Compound I was found in this genus for the first time,and it was isolated with the selective extraction which is advantagous over the traditional column chromatograph.

Abstract:A phytochemical investigation of the leaves of Lyonia ovalifolia var. hebecarpa (Franch. ex F.B. Forbes & Hemsl.) Chun (Ericaceae) led to the isolation of 22 compounds, including eight diterpenoids (1–8), two sesquiterpenoids (9 and 10), two monoterpenoids (11 and 12), two iridoids (13 and 14), four phenylpropanoids (15–18), and four lignans (19–22). Their structures were determined by spectroscopic data analysis and comparison with literature data. The absolute configuration of bisdeacetylkalmitoxin VI (1) was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis for the first time. Notably, all the isolates 1–22 were reported from the genus of Lyonia for the first time, and compounds 9–12 and 15–22 were obtained from the Ericaceae family for the first time. The chemotaxonomic significance of compounds 1–22 was discussed.

MethodsChromatographic methods were used to isolate the compounds from ethyl acetate extract of the roots and aerial parts of the plant,separately.Chemical and spectral methods were used to elucidate the structures of the isolated compounds. ResultsTen compounds were identified as glaucocalyxin A ①,3β-O-acetyloleanolic acid②,3β-O-acetylursolic acid③,2α,3β-dihydroxyurs-12-en-oic acid④,2α,3β,24-trihydroxyurs-12,20(30)-dien-oic acid⑤,2α,3α,23-trihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid⑥,palmitic acid⑦,stigmasterol⑧,-sitosterol β-⑨and daucosterol⑩. ConclusionCompounds 2 and 5 were isolated from this genus for the first time.Compounds 6 and 7 were isolated from the plant for the first time.

Abstract:Twenty-two compounds, including five homoisoflavanones (1–3, 7 and 8), three isoflavones (9–11), flavone glycoside (19), one triterpenoid aglycon (5), two steroidal sapogenins (4, 6), five steroidal saponins (12, 13, 20–22), three lignanoids (14, 17 and 18) and two fatty acids (15 and 16) were isolated from the rhizomes of Polygonatum odoratum. The structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods and by comparison of the reported spectral data. Additionally, the relationships between this plant and other species from Liliaceae family have also been discussed on the basis of the given compounds.

Abstract:Aim To study the chemical constituents from Geum japonicum Thunb.var.chinense F.Bolle.Methods The compounds were isolated by a combination of silica gel,ODS column chromatography and reverse-phase pre-HPLC,and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis.Results and conclusion Four pentacyclic triterpenoids and one sterol were obtained from Geum japonicum Thunb.var.chinense F.Bolle and their structures were identified as niga-ichigoside F1(1),glucosyl tormentate(2),euscaphic acid(3),tormentic acid(4),and β-sitosterol(5).Compounds 1-5 were isolated from Geum japonicum Thunb.var.chinense F.Bolle for the first time.

Abstract:Thirteen compounds were isolated from n-butanol extract of the stems of Lonicera japonica. ,and were identified as ( + )-pinoresinol-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside ( 1) ,diosmin ( 2) ,quercetin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside ( 3) , uridine ( 4) ,tachioside ( 5) ,caffeic acid-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside ( 6) ,3,4-O-dicaffeoylquinic acid ( 7) ,grandifloroside ( 8) ,loganic acid ( 9) ,loganin ( 10) ,sweroside ( 11) ,inositol ( 12) ,and glucose ( 13) . Abstract:To investigate the chemical constituents from Litsea rubescens Lec.var.yunnanensis.Compounds were isolated by silica gel column chromatogra-phy,and purified by recrystallization.Their structures were identified by NMR spectral data and other methods.Four known compounds were isolated from alcohol-extraction from Litsea rubescens Lec.var.yunnanensis.On the basis of physicochemical and spectroscopic analysis,these compounds were identified as triacontanoic acid(Ⅰ),hexacosoic acid(Ⅱ),Daucostenol(Ⅲ),β-sitosterol(Ⅳ).

Abstract:We identified eight different compounds from herb Glehnia littoralis by silica gel,Sephadex LH-20,HPLC methods,and the following extensive spectroscopic analysis.These compounds included lupine(Ⅰ),betulin(Ⅱ),β-sitosterol(Ⅲ),daucosterol(Ⅳ),panaxynol(Ⅴ),facarindiol(Ⅵ),(8E)-1,8-hepta-decadiene-4,6-diyne-3,10-diol(Ⅶ)and isoimperatorin(Ⅷ). Among these compounds,CompoundⅠ,Ⅱ and Ⅳ were firstly isolated from G.littoralis.

Abstract:This work describes the isolation and characterization of fourteen compounds from Lagerstroemia speciosa (L.) Pers, including four triterpenes (1–4), eight ellagic acids (5–12), one coumarin (13) and one neolignan (14). Their structures were elucidated on the basis of various spectroscopic methods (UV, IV and NMR, including 2D experiments). It was the first report of compounds 14 from the genus Lagerstroemia and the first report of compounds 9–12 from the family Lythraceae.

Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents in 60% ethanol extract from the fruit of Gardenia jasminoides. Methods The compounds were isolated by various chromatographic techniques and identified by spectroscopic methods. Results Twelve compounds were obtained and identified as gardenianan A (1), syringaresinol (2), pinoresinol (3), syringaresinol-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (4), laricir-esinol (5), alangilignoside D (6), lyoniresinol (7), lyoniresinol-9-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (8), balanophonin (9), glycosmisic acid (10), ficusal (11), and ceplignan (12). Conclusion Compound 1 is a new compound named gardenianan A. Compounds 2 - 6 and 9 -12 are reported for the first isolation from the plants of Gardenia Ellis.
