Abstract:Nanocomposite TiO2 particles with special structures were prepared by chelating-precipitation method. The microstructures different size particles were investigated with XRD, TEM and Raman spectroscopy. All the results indicate that the surface phase of particles is rutile and the internal one is anatase.

Abstract:TiO2 nanotubes were prepared through the reaction of TiO2 power in high-concentration NaOH under hydrothermal conditions. X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and ultraviolet visible spectrum (UV-Vis) were adopted to analyze as-prepared TiO2 nanotubes. The influence of rutile content in TiO2 powder on the structure and properties of TiO2 nanotube was investigated. The results show that pure rutile TiO2 powder is not conducive to the formation of TiO2 nanotubes, and the mixed crystal TiO2 nanotubes with uniform morphology can be prepared by TiO2 powder with anatase-rutile mixed crystal structure. With the increase of rutile content in the TiO2 powder, the rutile phase increases in as-prepared samples, and the photocatalytic activities first increase, and then decrease. The mixed crystal TiO2 nanotubes with anatase as dominant phase exhibit high photocatalytic decomposition activity to the methyl orange.

Abstract:TiO 2 /Fe 2 O 3 nanocomposite was fabricated by a hydrolysis-precipitation approach, with TiCl 4 as precursor and Fe 2 O 3 as support. The crystal phase, diameter and morphology of the sample particle were characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscope. The results show that the samples are composed of haematite and rutile. The morphology and diameter of rutile particle, coating effect and weight percentages of haematite and rutile are related to the preparing temperature and molar ratio of Fe/Ti. The photocatalytic activity of the prepared photocatalyst was estimated in an aqueous solution at ambient temperature of 303K. The results imply that the photocatalytic activity of the sample is higher than that of phase pure rutile, related to Fe/Ti molar ratio and its preparing temperature. These results can be attribute to the microsturcture of the sample. A synergistic effect exists between titania and haematite in the nanocomposite.

Abstract:Different surface morphologies of TiO2 thin films were prepared by hydrothermal synthesis method on Ti substrates through changing reaction time. The microstructure, composition, optical properties and photocatalytic properties of TiO2 thin films were systematically investigated by x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, x-ray photoelectron spectrometer and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy. As the reaction time increases, anatase structure and brookite structure of TiO2 films respectively increases and decreases, corresponding to surface morphology changes from irregular structure to regular geometrical shape structure. These structural changes are accompanied by significant variations of optical properties and photocatalytic properties including a widening of the band gap from 2.86 to 3.19 eV, photocatalytic degradation efficiency from 92.5 to 98.1% and photocatalytic degradation rate from 0.032 to 0.048 min(-1). Among all samples, TiO2-1 shows the best photocatalytic properties. Compositional analysis indicates that TiO2 surface layer contains Ti and O elements, the ratio of Ti:O is 1:2.28 which is close to the atom ratio of TiO2. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract:Nano-Yb2O3/TiO2 particles were prepared by sol - gel method. The properties of the sample were characterized by XRD, TG-DTA, TEM and BET. It was found that the Yb2O3/TiO2 fine particles appeared as a anatase structure with a size smaller than 15 nm below 400degreesC, the BET surface area is bigger than 107.22 m(2). g(-1). If the annealing temperature was over 400degreesC, the particles appeared as the composite structure of anatase and rutile and the grain size of TiO2 nanoparticles increased rapidly, and appeared rurtile structure completely at 800degreesC.

Abstract:The biphase Fe/TiO2 nanocomposites were prepared by a simple sol-gel combined hydrogen reduction method.The transmission electron microscope(TEM)images reveal that the particle size of Fe/TiO2 nanocomposites is about 100-300 nm with clear core/shell structure.The XRD results de-monstrate that the structures of a-Fe and rutile TiO2 exist in the nanocomposites,and no other phase is found.The measurement result of a vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM) shows that the specific sa-turation magnetization(Ms)of the sample is high.The research shows that the magnetic properties of the sample can be changed effectively by controlling the amout of the precursor.The thermo-gravimetric analysis(TGA)result reveals that the sample has strong inoxidizability.The complex dielectric spectrum and magnetic spectrum show that the dielectric loss of the sample is larger than magnetic loss in the measurement range of the microwave frequency.

Abstract:A series of TiO2/α-FeOOH nanocomposites were prepared by hydrolysis precipitation method at different temperatures using TiCl4 as Ti source and α-FeOOH as support.The phase composition,morphology, microstructure and optical properties of the samples were investigated by XRD,HRTEM,STEM and UV-DRS.The results show that with the temperature gradually increasing from 30℃ to 90℃,the core-shell structure first gets better and then worse,and the best core-shell structure is formed at 45℃.The shell is composed of fine grains of rutile TiO2 and the large grain of α-FeOOH serves as the core,and the nanocomposites coated continuous and dense. The interaction between TiO2 and α-FeOOH is not only physical adsorption,a coherent lattice structure is formed at the interface between TiO2 and α-FeOOH,which leads to a large lattice distortion and a good composite structure. UV-DRS results show that the largest red shift of absorption peak is observed for the composite with good core-shell structure,indicating that the TiO2/α-FeOOH nanocomposites can greatly expand the range of spectral response and thus improve the utilization of sunlight.

Abstract:In this work, the N-doped TiO2/C composite is successfully prepared using electrospinning technique. TEM, XPS and Raman techniques are used to characterize the morphologies and microstructure of the as-fabricated composite, confirming that the incorporation of N into TiO2/C can not only reduce the d-spacing of TiO2 nanocrystals, but also can transform it into another TiO2 crystal form. Furthermore, amorphous carbon in this composite can be transferred to graphite under the effect of TiO2 during calcination processes. The N-doped TiO2/C sample with variable pore sizes exhibit the largest specific surface area, and the crystal forms of TiO2 are close related to the value of specific surface area and the pore sizes.

Abstract:As compared to TiO2 photo-catalyst,the surface activity,photocatalytic activity and thermal stability of TiO2/SiO2 composite catalyst,which prepared using SiO2 as carrier or nuclear,are better.The precipitated silica was obtained from fly ash.The titania/silica(TiO2/SiO2) composite was prepared by chemical coating method using precipitated silica and tetrabutyl titanate as precursors.The composite was characterized by means of X-ray difractometry,FT-IR spectroscopy and TG-DTA analysis.It is confirmed that the silica is efficiently coated by titania through FT-IR spectroscopy and TG-DTA analysis.The TiO2/SiO2 composite possesses high thermal stability.The phase of silica remains amorphous and titania is anatase after the composite calcined at 700 ℃ for 4 h.While,titania transforms into rutile when calcined at 900 ℃.

Abstract:Photoactive ZnS/TiO2 nanocomposites were prepared via microemulsion-mediated solvothermal method. The structure, composition, physicochemical property, and morphology of the composites were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman scattering studies, UV diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV/DRS), photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). It showed that the composites were cube-shaped with particle sizes of 10 to 15 nm, and the phase structure for ZnS and TiO2 in the composites was cubic and anatase, respectively. The content of the ZnS in the composites was 2.1%, 10.7%, and 19.9%, respectively Compared with the solitary anatase TiO2, the ZnS/TiO2 exhibited enhanced visible-light photocatalytic activity for the aqueous parathion-methyl degradation. Factors including the interactions between the phases of ZnS and TiO2, strong adsorption of the substrate at the surface of the ZnS/TiO2 nanocomposites, and preassociation of the substrate and composites are responsible for this enhancement photocatalytic activity. Abstract:TiO2–NiO and TiO2–WO3 nanocomposites were prepared by hydrothermal and surface modification methods. The samples were analyzed using X-ray diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscope images, Transmission Electron Microscope, Energy dispersive analysis, Zeta potential, Electrophoretic mobility and Photocatalysis activity measurement. XRD data sets of TiO2–NiO, TiO2–WO3 powder nanocomposite have been studied for the inclusion of NiO, WO3 on the anatase-rutile mixture phase of TiO2 by Rietveld refinement. The cell parameters, phase fraction, the average grain size, strain and bond lengths between atoms of individual phases have been reported in the present work. Shifted positional co-ordinates of individual atoms in each phase have also been observed.

Abstract:TiO2 fibers and Au/TiO2 composite fibers were developed via sol-gel approach. Their crystallization properties and surface morphology were characterized with XRD, SEM and TEM, and the activity was investigated by the photocatalytical degradation of methyl orange as probe. The results demonstrate that TiO2 is anatase after the heat treatment, and the size of Au particles is 7-15nm. The diameter of fiber is 5-20μm and the length is 5-50cm. The incorporation of Au could greatly enhance the photocatalytic activity of TiO2, which increased with the addition of Au incorporation.

Abstract:The pure and WO3-doped TiO2 nanoparticles photocatalyst was prepared by chemical precipitation,in which titanium tetrachloride was used as Ti-precursor,ammonia as precipitant and sodium tungstate as doping donor.The samples was characterized by XRD and FTIR.The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by the photocatalytic decomposition of phenol under 20 W UV light irradiation,The Effects of calcinated temperature and WO3-doped concentration on the activity was investigated.The results showed that WO3 doping retards the growth of grain size.The photocatalytic activity of pure TiO2 is optital when the sample was calcined at 450℃,The WO3-TiO2 photocatalysts show better photocatalytic activity.The optimum concentration of WO3 is 1%(mole fracition).

Abstract:Nano-sized CaTiO3∶Zn particles were successfully synthesized through sol-gel technique.The microstructure and other properties of the prepared nano particles were investigated.The average particle size of the CaTiO3∶Zn powders calculated from TEM micrograph is about 50 nm.CaTiO3 is formed as the major phase,and the added Zn exists as Zn2TiO4 phase.The CaTiO3∶Zn ceramics can be well sintered at 1 150 ℃,about 250 ℃ lower than those of ceramics obtained by conventional solid state method.The sintered CaTiO3∶Zn ceramics possess a er of 155,and a Q?f value of 6 633 GHz which is greatly improved.

Abstract:This paper reports the results of an investigation aiming at finding what affects the grain size of nano-TiO2 powder during synthesis. Nano-sized TiO2 powders have been prepared by a sol–gel method. The crystalline structures and morphologies of the powder have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The result shows that the different preparation conditions such as concentration, pH value, calcination time and calcination temperature have a lot of influences upon the properties of nano-TiO2 powders. The smallest grain size of TiO2 powder we have obtained is 6 nm by controlling the process conditions.

Abstract:C/TiO2 composites were prepared with surface modified MWCNT sequentially after HCl treatment and TNB as titanium source. There is a single crystal structure which is anatase in all of the samples from the data of XRD. The SEM microphotographs of C/TiO2 composites show that the TiO2 particles were well mixed with the CNT. There are C, O and Al with strong Ti peaks in all samples from EDX results, and it also shows that the sample CT has much more amount of C and Ti content than that of sample HCT. Finally, the photocatalytic activities for the C/TiO2 composites have more effective than that of pristine TiO2.
