Abstract:The technology of CCD has a bright prospect in image transducing and noncontact measuring.The generation of CCD′s driving schedules is the key of CCD′s application.Driving schedules of ICX205AL area array CCD produced by Sony Corporation are examined in detail,based on which,driving schedule generator is designed.CPLD is chosen as the hardware design platform,and the driving schedule generator is described with Verilog hardware description language.The designed generator is successfully fulfilled function simulation with ispLEVER software and fitted into LC4256V-75T100I which is a CPLD product made by Lattice Corporation.Experiments show that the designed generator is suitable for the driving of area array CCD with the function being realized.

Abstract:CCD is a new semiconductor photoelectric device widely used in some fields. The design of the time sequence driving circuit of CCD is a crucial problem of its application. VHDL and CPLD are used together to complete the design of the time sequence driving circuit of CCD. Some of the codes with VHDL are given. Timing simulation of circuit running on MAX+plus Ⅱ is presented. Some problems of VHDL design are analyzed and studied.

Abstract:A design method of the time-sequence driving circuit on a high-speed EMCCD image sensor CCD97 is provided.FPGA is adopted to design the logic control sequence.EL7457 integrated devices are used for level switch of the standard clocks.The discrete circuit is used to perform the level switch of high-speed high-voltage(electronic gain) clock to lay the frame work for EMCCD.Results of simulation and experiment show that the method can provide multi-channel driver time-sequence and the circuit has high dirving frequency.The circuit is simple.The method has been applied to the development of CCD image acquisition system.

Abstract:Based on methods of direct digital circuit and I/O port of microcontroller, a new CCD driving circuit was designed, maintaining two original methods' advantages. Results of simulation and experiment show that multiplex pulses can be obtained with high driving frequency. Simpler construction of circuit, easier programming and an excellent performance/price ratio of this method had been utilized in CCD image-gathering system.

Abstract:Design of driving schedule is important for CCD to perform well.A driving schedule design based on FPGA(field programmable gate array) is put forward for the scientific grade CCD47-20 BI AIMO(advanced inverted mode operation) of e2v Company.This design is developed on the FPGA-APA600 hardware platform using Verilog language in LiberoIDE v9.0 development environment,and simulated in ModelSim6.0.Image acquisition experiments were implemented with the image collection card of Matrox Company.The experiment indicated that the CCD performed stably,and the design met the driving requirements of CCD47-20 BI AIMO. The result has been applied to CCD readout circuit of spatial heterodyne interferometer for oxygen detection with good performance.

Abstract:A CPLD-based on design of high accuracy linear array CCD device's driving circuit using Toshiba Corporation's TCD1711DG is proposed.Firstly,the principle and timing of the TCD1711DG are analyzed.Then the driving circuit based on Altera Corporation's MAX7000S series EPM7032STC44 is designed with finite state machine in Verilog HDL by adopting developing system QuartusⅡ.Finally,the driver circuit's simulation is completed in ModelSim SE,and the output timing pulse of CPLD is tested with oscilloscope.The results obtained from simulation and test demonstrate that the design meets the timing requirements of the TCD1711DG.

Abstract:It is very important for studying the radiation damage effects and mechanism systematically about CCD to develop a general-purpose test platform. The paper discusses the design method of general-purpose driving circuit for CCD based on CPLD and the realization approach. A main controller has being designed to read the data file from the outer memory, setup the correlative parameter registers and produce the driving pulses according with parameter request strictly, which is based on MAX7000S by using MAX-PLUS II software. The basic driving circuit module has being finished based on this method. The output waveform of the module is the same figure as the simulation waveform. This result indicates that the design method is feasible.

Abstract:According to the need and cost in image scan,a Linear–CCD acquisition system using Altera′s EPM7128S(CPLD) is designed.The system uses MSP430F149 to finish the analysis of digital image signal for giving the control information to other equipments and uses EPM7128S to drive TCD1206SUP Linear CCD、generate analogy–to–digital converters′timing and dual-ported memorizer′s address signal.The chief hardware circuits of the design are composed of image signal process、A/D and data memory.The design is provided with compact configuration and cheaper cost.

Abstract:This paper describes a high-frame rate CCD camera capable of operating at 100 frames/s. This camera utilizes Kodak KAI-0340, an interline transfer CCD with 640(vertical)×480(horizontal) pixels. Two output ports are used to read out CCD data and pixel rates approaching 30 MHz. Because of its reduced effective opacity of vertical charge transfer registers, interline transfer CCD can cause undesired image artifacts, such as random white spots and smear generated in the registers. To increase frame rate, a kind of speed-up structure has been incorporated inside KAI-0340, then it is vulnerable to a vertical stripe effect. The phenomena which mentioned above may severely impair the image quality. To solve these problems, some electronic methods of eliminating these artifacts are adopted. Special clocking mode can dump the unwanted charge quickly, then the fast readout of the images, cleared of smear, follows immediately. Amplifier is used to sense and correct delay mismatch between the dual phase vertical clock pulses, the transition edges become close to coincident, so vertical stripes disappear. Results obtained with the CCD camera are shown.

Abstract:In order to meet the requirements of the Antarctic expedition and Antarctic astronomical observation , a clock drive circuit is designed which is based on a STM 32 to control a scientific grade CCD chip in frame transfer mode .In this paper , the time sequence of CCD -57 is introduced , and the design of drive circuit has realized , a time sequence generator based on STM 32 MCU is designed .At the end of this paper a test is given which shows that the design meets the demand of the CCD timing at low readout speed .The design has the ad-vantages of convenience , low-cost , low power consumption and reliability .

Abstract:The paper designs a driving circuit of high sensitive, wide dynamic and high signal-to-noise ratio for binocular CCD imaging system which adopts a Dalsa-made high resolution full-frame 33-mega pixels area CCD FTF5066M. Inner structure and driving timing of the FTF5066M sensor are presented. Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) is used as the main device to accomplish the timing design of the circuits and power driver control of the two sensors. By using the Correlated Double Sampling (CDS) technique, the video noise is reduced and the SNR of the system is increased. A 12- bit A/D converter is used to improve the image quality. The output rate of the imaging system designed with integrated chip can reach to 1.3 frames per second through bi-channel. For its good performance, low power consumption and small volume, the driving system can be applied to aeronautics and astronautics field. With a further improvement, a maximum data output rate of 2.7 frames per second can be reached through all the eight channels of the two CCDs.

Abstract:Taking full frame CCD image sensor FTF4027M produced by Dalsa as example,we studied the principle and driver schedule of full frame CCD device,and put forward a FPGA technology based method for design of the full frame CCD drivers.FPGA was used as the hardware design platform,driving schedule generator has been described with VHDL.The designed generator has successfully fulfilled system simulation with Quartus II 5.0 and fitted in EP1C3T144C8 made by Altera.Result of experiment showed that the designed generator can meet the demand of the full frame CCD.

Abstract:The circuit design of a single panel LCOS microdisplay chip is described. Equipped with proper engine and interface circuit system, the LCOS chip can be used to implement single panel LCOS rear-projection TV or other projection products. Similar with traditional field sequential color LCOS microdisplay chip, it consists of three parts: row scan driver, data driver and pixel array. The main difference of them is the row access method. The traditional field sequential color LCOS uses line-by-line row scan, while the LCOS introduced here uses random addressing. The red, green and blue data are almost written into the pixel array simultaneously. Cooperating with scrolling engine the color image is displayed. Single panel LCOS system costs less chips and relevant circuit systems, then can reduce product cost.

Abstract:Because of some shortages in traditional existing driving circuits for CCD image sensor ICX274,a new method based on CXD3609R chip which can generate timing signals is put forward in this paper,and the CXD3609R circuit embedded platform based on FPGA is designed so as to realize the generation of ICX274 driving signal.The experimental results show that CXD3609R can meet the timing drive requirements for ICX274,and verify the feasibility of this system.It provides a new way for imaging system based on ICX274,and laids a foundation for subsequent study on imaging system.

Abstract:Schedules of IBIS5-A-1300 (CMOS produced by CYPRESS Co.Ltd) have been examined in detail. Serial-3-wire and parallel have been designed to configure register for CMOS camera, and multiple integration, ROI, sub-sampling have been completed. Complex program logic device(CPLD)has been chosen as the hardware design platform, driving schedule generator has been described with VHDL. The function simulation of the system is successfully fulfilled with QuartusⅡ5.0 software and filled into MAXⅡEPM570T144C3 (a kind of CPLD products that made by ALTERA). Experiments show that designed generator is suitable for the driving of CMOS camera.

Abstract:Scientific grade Charge Coupled Device(CCD) is widely used in astronomical telescope as imaging sensor at present. A CCD camera based on CCD driving and readout ASIC is designed using CCD47-20 in this paper. The CCD driving and readout ASIC chips include CCD drive chip BCDA2(Second Edition Bias Clock Driver ASIC) and CVRA2（Second Edition CCD Video Readout ASIC). BCDA2 provides multichannel clock and bias voltage for CCD. CVRA2 processes the output signal of CCD by correlated double sampling double slope integral. The processed signals will be sampled by external ADC. Based on the BCDA2 and CVRA2, the electronics system of the camera is designed including a Connecting Board, a pre-amp board and a master control board with CCD driver and CCD readout. The test result shows it’s working well.
