Abstract:Wastewater from ultra-low-permeability oil fields contains high levels of sulfides and petroleum, which imposes a number of difficulties on the treatment of the water using membranes. Enhancing the pretreatment processes prior to membrane treatment would be an essential step in solving this problem. Therefore, an industrialized application test of PVC hollow fiber membranes was performed to develop a series of pretreatment techniques, including the oxidation for sulfide removal method, the oil coagulation with air flotation technique and the flowing sand filtration technique. These pretreatment methods were combined with PVC hollow fiber membrane technology to accomplish the treatment of low-permeability oilfield wastewater. After the in-situ treatment, only trace levels of oil and sulfide are detectable in the wastewater, the suspended solid content is 0.60 mg/L, and the median particle diameter is 0.903 μm, which meets the water quality index of the ultra-low-permeability oil layer of the Daqing Oilfield reinjection water. The average service life of an AMAT PVC hollow fiber membrane is 50 days, and the actual treatment cost is 2.31 Yuan per cubic meter, which satisfies the industrial production requirement and is suitable for the wastewater reinjection process for the ultra-low-permeability oil layer. © Sila Science.
