Theory and Practice of Performance Diagnosis Through Mathematical Simulation in Ball Game

Abstract:This paper introduced the theory and method of performance diagnosis through mathematical simulation in ball game,illustrated with the instance of table tennis match.The idea is that match can be described by transition probability matrix of game states (tactics or technique).On the basis of it,the match point probability can be calculated by using Markov-chain and performance relevance of each game state (tactic or technique) is determined.Comparing with traditional method of match analysis,performance diagnosis through mathematical simulation can not only carry on the descriptive statistical analysis of each game state (tactic or technique),but also determine the relevance of each game state (tactic or technique).
