The Ideas,Characteristics and Enlightenment of Curriculum Reform of the Nordic Countries in the New Century

Abstract:The Nordic countries have launched a series of curriculum reforms of basic education at the beginning of the 21st century.Coincidentally,the purposes of all these reforms are to cultivate high quality and innovative students who could response to the challenge of international competition by promoting equality and quality of basic education.Some characteristics can be found in these reforms: the aim of the curriculum is to improve students' basic knowledge and skill;the content of the curriculum should be fundamental,integrated and with modernity;the curriculum assessment should be reinforced by setting up curriculum criteria and reform the way of assessment;the curriculum implementation should be guaranteed by preparing good study environment and encouraging teachers to select proper teaching methods.The curriculum reform of basic education in China has been going on for 10 years,and the second reform is going to be launched soon.The ideas and decisions of curriculum reformation of Nordic countries could expand our sight,enlighten our knowledge.
