An observation on different management for the wound drainage and wrapping in modified radical mastectomy

Abstract:Objective To analize the outcome of different later management in the modified radical mastectomy.Methods Comparation was made between the 66 cases of mastectomy,who were given "the double drainage with contineous negtive sucktion",and those who were given the traditional "the single drainage with compressive wrapping".The wound progressing including subcaveous exude and flap necrosis was observed.Results Significant difference(P<0.05) was found between the modified management for the mastectomy wound and the traditional method both in the incidence of subcutaneous exude(9.1% vs 70.6%) and flap necrosis(1.5% vs 14.7%).Conclusion The double drainage with negtive sucktion could lessen the wound complication and so accelarated the healing.
