Abstract:Objective To detect whether human chromosomes telomerase genes is amplified or not in the process from atypical hyperplasia to cervical carcinoma. Methods One hundred and eighteen patients were divided into CIN-Ⅰ group(n=21),CIN-Ⅱ group(n=11),CIN-Ⅲ group(n=18),cervical carcinoma group(n=38) (including 29 cases of squamous cell carcinoma and 9 cases of adenocarcinoma),and cervicitis group (control group) (n=30). The amplification rate of human chromosomes telomerase genes was detected with FISH technique in cervical liquid cells. Results The amplification rate was 10.00% in cervicitis,89.47% in cervical carcinoma group and 87.5% in CIN groups,in which it was 85.71% in CIN-Ⅰ group,90.90% in CIN-Ⅱ group and 88.89% in CIN-Ⅲ group. The amplification signals of human chromosomes telomerase genes significantly increased both in CIN and cervical carcinoma groups(P0.01). There was a statistic difference between squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinomas(P0.05),but no statistic difference between cervical carcinoma group and CIN group(P0.05). Conclusion The human chromosomes telomerase genes are amplified in the process from atypical hyperplasia to cervical carcinoma, and significantly amplified in cervical cancer. Cervical cancer and its development are related to the amplification of human chromosomes telomerase genes. The detection of human chromosomes telomerase genes with FISH technique is expected to be one of the early screening methods for cervical cancer.
