Abstract:In this Letter, a thorough analysis of existence, uniqueness and globally exponential stability of the equilibrium point of neural networks with variable delays is presented. By applying M-matrix theory and some new analysis techniques, a new delay-dependent sufficient condition for global exponential stability is derived. The criteria obtained in this Letter extend and improve the existing ones, and a numerical example illustrate the effectiveness of our results.

Abstract:Some sufficient conditions to ensure the existence, uniqueness and global exponential stability of the equilibrium point of cellular neural networks with variable delays are derived. Abstract:Without assuming the boundedness, strict monotonicity and differentiability of the activation function, global exponential stability was investigated for a class of neural networks with multiple time varying delays. A new sufficient condition is derived to guarantee the uniqueness and global exponential stability of the equilibrium point via linear matrix inequality technique. The proposed stability criterion imposes constraints on the self-feedback matrix and interconnected matrices, which can be conveniently verified. Comparisons are made with some previous results, which shows the effectiveness of the obtained result.

Abstract:This paper studies the problem of global exponential stability of the equilibrium of a class of neural networks with delays, by using the method of variation of constants and combining it with the method of inequality analysis. Sufficient conditions for global exponential stability of neural networks with delays are obtained, for which we do not require symmetry of the connection matrix and nonlinear properties for neural units to be continuously differentiable or strictly monotonically increasing. These conditions can be used to design globally stable neural networks.

Abstract:This paper studies a class of complex-valued neural networks with time-varying delays. By using the conjugate system of the complex-valued neural networks and Brouwer¿s fixed point theorem, sufficient conditions to guarantee the existence and uniqueness of an equilibrium are obtained. Some criteria on globally exponential stability of the equilibrium of the complex-valued neural networks are also established by using a delay differential inequality. These results are easy to apply to the study of the complex-valued neural networks whether their activation functions are explicitly expressed by separating their real and imaginary parts or not. Two examples with numerical simulations are given to highlight the effectiveness of the obtained results.

Abstract:This paper discusses the exponential stability of periodic solutions for stochastic neural networks with multiple time-varying delays. For these networks, sufficient conditions in the linear matrix inequality forms are rare in the literature. We constructed an appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional to eliminate the items with multiple delays and establish some sufficient conditions in linear matrix inequality forms, to ensure exponential stability of the periodic solutions. Several examples are provided to demonstrate that our results are effective and less conservative than previous ones.

Abstract:Based on the theory of topological degree and properties of M-matrix, by constructing proper vector Lyapunov functions, the existence and uniqueness of the equilibrium point and its global exponential stability are investigated for a class of neural networks with unbounded and varying delays. Without assuming the boundedness and differentiability of the activation functions, several new sufficient criterions for ascertaining the existence, uniqueness and global exponential stability of the equilibrium point of such neural networks are obtained. Since the criterion is independent of the delays and simplifies the calculation, it is easy to test the conditions of the criterion in practice. An example is given to demonstrate the feasibility of the criterion.
