The Construction and Practice of the Top-notch Innovative Talents Training System in Research Universities

Abstract:Talent cultivation is the fundamental task of colleges and universities,and improving the cultivation quality is the eternal theme of higher education.In the higher education system,the colleges and universities of different levels and types have different orientation and tasks.High-level research universities must take the responsibility of cultivating talents.This is not only required by the development of the era,but also the historical mission of this type of universities.After a series of intensive discussions and researches,in 2007,Dalian University of Technology proposed a"131"comprehensive reform program,namely 1target(the implementation of elite education and training),3modes(diversified training model,research-based teaching model and student-oriented management model),1system(the top-notch innovative talents training system in research universities).This reform program is designed to effectively build a new undergraduate training system for the high-level research universities to meet the training objectives,to adapt to the era and the future.In this article,the"3×10"approaches of the"131"comprehensive reform program,namely comprehensive reform in 10areas,10changes in the undergraduate training programs and 10ways to build the implementation platform are Described.
