Abstract:So far,academia and government policy-makers have attached much importance to problems brought about by the rapid progress of China population aging,but very little to negative effects of labor aging under the context of population aging, especially its effects to socio-economic development in the future.Based on available data,firstly,this paper analyzes current situation and characteristics of China population aging,and predicts age structure and aging tendency of laboring-age population during the first half of 21st century.Secondly,the article discusses possible negative effects of labor aging on socio-economic development from the view of enhancement of productivity and adjustment of industrial structure.Lastly,the authors put forward related policy considerations.
