Comparative Study on Bilingual Teaching and Learning in the Chinese and German Universities

Abstract:From 2006 to 2008,the authors have made a lot of empirical investigation on teaching and learning in some universities of China and Germany and found that Chinese and German universities not only have different understanding of the concept of bilingual teaching and learning.The external conditions of the teaching and learning activities and the process of their implementation also vary a lot.Specifically,there are significant differences among participants in teaching and learning activities in the two countries in terms of language proficiency,the attitude toward teaching and learning and process of teaching and testing. All in all,our teaching quality still has a long way to go before it can reach the advanced international level.
