Abstract:Objective: The study aimed to test the model of job satisfaction of nurses developed by Lu Hong et al. in 2007, especially test the predictors of job satisfaction. Method: Questionnaire is selected to collect data and 258 clinical nurses among a popu- lation of 266 completed it, yielding a respondent rate of 96.99%. The questionnaire comprised of the general information of subjects as well as the following scales: Job Satisfaction Scale, Organizational Commitment Scale, Professional Commitment Scale, Occupational Stress Scale, Role Conflict and Ambiguity Scale. Results: About 50.7% of the variance in job satisfaction could be explained by the set of independent variables including organizational commitment, professional commitment, occupational stress, role conflict and ambiguity. Organizational commitment had the strongest impact on job satisfaction, followed by occupational stress and role ambiguity. Conclusion: The model of job satisfaction of nurses developed by Lu Hong et al. in 2007 could be used in a broad population of nurses through testing it in practice.
