Rethinking to the Rupture of Urban and Rural Social Structure and Population Adverse Selection

Abstract:Population Adverse Selection is a problem that already had an explicit conclusion in demographic studies,but from a sociological point of view,there is still room for further reflection.This article makes a review of development of demographic research,re-analyzes and re-thinks Population Adverse Selection issue from perspective of urban-rural dual structure.It is indicated that in a Fractured Society,behind the social statistics fact of difference in population quality between urban and rural China,institutional factors,such as the household registration system,and structural factors,such as the possession and allocation of education and health resources,have affected the improvement of China's population quality profoundly.
