Data quality research of maternal health care service indexes in maternal and child health care annual reports of partial areas in Gansu province

Abstract:Objective:To understand the utilization of maternal health care service,find the problems of data quality of maternal health care service indexes in maternal and child health care(MCH) annual reports,solve the causes leading to those problems. Methods:Multi-stage random sampling method was used to select 313 women with the delivery history of live births from October 1st,2009 to September 30th,2010 in a county and a district of Gansu province,the situations of maternal health care were investigated by a questionnaire;the indexes including mean,constituent ratio,and rate were used for statistical description,chi-square test was used for statistical analysis. Results:The prenatal examination rates during the first trimester of pregnancy in urban area and rural area were 93.0% and 94.3%,respectively;the overestimate rates of annual reports were 6.0% and 5.6%,respectively;the prenatal examination rates for five times or more than five times in urban area and rural area were 80.3% and 78.6%,respectively;the postpartum visit rates in urban area and rural area were 52.2% and 93.7%,respectively,the overestimate rates of annual reports were 86.8% and 6.2%,respectively;the systematical management rates in urban area and rural area were 45.9% and 77.4% respectively,the overestimate rates of annual reports were 109.9% and 27.0%,respectively. Conclusion:The data of maternal health care service indexes in annual reports of MCH are overestimated to a certain extent,such as maternal systematical management rate.
