Study on the Influence of Agricultural Drainage Channels on Landscape Pattern in Bielahong Watershed

Abstract:At the watershed scale,based on relief map and land-use map,according to the theory and methods of landscape ecology,using the RS and GIS techniques,the land use/wetland landscape maps of the year 1967,1983 and 2005 were compiled.And then the intensity of drainage channel in different parts and different periods of the watershed and its influence on the changes of wetland landscape pattern are analyzed.The result shows that:1)with the operation of the drainage works,the hydrologic regime in the watershed has changed greatly,splitting one whole watershed to three sub-watersheds;2)The total length and density of the drainage channel has been increasing from 1967 to 2005,especially since 1983;the density of the drainage channel has great difference in different zones,the upper reaches of the river the middle reaches of the river the lower reaches of the river;3)the landscape structure changes along with time,including the shrinkage of wetland,the decrease of landscape diversity,the serious fragmentation of structure;and 4)the development of agricultural drainage channels has significant effect on the wetland landscape changes.
