Abstract:Surgery of skull base tumors is a multidisciplinary team work with high difficulty and risk, which is also demonstrated in its history. Great advancements have been achieved in the surgery of skull base tumors in the recent 40 years, which were mainly manifested in tools, techniques, knowledge and therapy philosophy. Based on the four aspects mentioned above in the surgery of skull base tumors, we evaluated the current situation and looked into the future. Surgery of skull base tumors in China started late but developed well currently, the main obstacles and countermeasures were proposed.
