Utilization and Satisfaction of Reproductive Health Counseling Service

Abstract:Using data of National Survey on Sexual and Reproductive Health for Unmarried Youth in China in 2009,this study documented the utilization and satisfaction of reproductive health counseling service of unmarried youth in China.The counseling needs ratio(by person-time)was 39.1% in 2009,while more than 80% of youth did not report any counseling needs.Moreover,males aged 15-19 in rural had greater counseling needs ratio than those of females aged 15-19 in rural,whereas the proportion of males aged 15-19 in rural who reported the counseling needs was lower than that of the same-age females in rural.It tells that youth,the males aged 15-19 in rural especially,tend to have multiple counseling needs.Package for reproductive health counseling service,therefore,should be provided for unmarried youth.Different counseling provision approach had different service problem,appealing for relevant countermeasures to enhance the accessibility of youth reproductive health counseling service.
