Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical and pathological features of primary IgA nephropathy with crescent formation in young adults. Methods A total of 124 20—40-year-old patients with primary IgA nephropathy and crescent formation confirmed by biopsy were divided into group A(n=48) and group B(n=76) according to the proportion of glomerular crescent formation. The pathological features were described by Katafuchi integral. Results Compared with group B,24 h urinary protein excretion and uric acid significantly increased but glomerular filtration rate and albumin concentration obviously decrease in group A(P<0.05).No significant differences in blood pressure, creatinine, blood lipid, blood glucose, serum IgA,serum C3 and IgA/C3 ratio were found between the two groups(P>0.05).However,there were obvious differences in mesangial proliferation and tubulointerstitial parameters between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion Clinical outcomes and tubulointerstitial damage gradually worsen with the increase in the proportion of glomerular crescent formation in young adult patients with primary IgA nephropathy and crescent formation.Active therapy and intervention should be taken to slow the disease progression.
