By constructing a suitable Lyapunov functional, we also obtain sufficient conditions ensuring the global attractivity of the system. Abstract:In this paper, we propose a Lotka–Volterra competitive system with infinite delay and feedback controls. By using the method of multiple Lyapunov functionals and by developing a new analysis technique, we establish the sufficient conditions which guarantee that some of the n species are driven to extinction. Two examples together with their numerical simulations show the feasibility of our main results and the considerable effects of feedback controls on the extinction of species.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the almost periodic dynamics of a multispecies Lotka-Volterra mutualism system with time varying delays on time scales. By establishing some dynamic inequalities on time scales, a permanence result for the model is obtained. Furthermore, by means of the almost periodic functional hull theory on time scales and Lyapunov functional, some criteria are obtained for the existence, uniqueness and global attractivity of almost periodic solutions of the model. Our results complement and extend some scientific work in recent years. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the main results.

Abstract:In this paper, a generalized fractional three-species food chain model with delay is investigated. First, the existence of a positive equilibrium is discussed, and the sufficient conditions for global asymptotic stability are given. Second, through selecting the delay as the bifurcation parameter, we obtain the sufficient condition for this non-control system to generate Hopf bifurcation. Then, a nonlinear delayed feedback controller is skillfully applied to govern the system's Hopf bifurcation. The results indicate that adjusting the control intensity or the control target's age can effectively govern the bifurcation dynamics behavior of this system. Last, through application examples and numerical simulations, we confirm the validity and feasibility of the theoretical results, and find that the control strategy is also applicable to eco-epidemiological systems.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider an autonomous Lotka–Volterra competitive system with infinite delays and feedback controls. The extinction and global stability of equilibriums are discussed using the Lyapunov functional method. If the Lotka–Volterra competitive system is globally stable, then we show that the feedback controls only change the position of the unique positive equilibrium and retain the stable property. If the Lotka–Volterra competitive system is extinct, by choosing the suitable values of feedback control variables, we can make extinct species become globally stable, or still keep the property of extinction. Some examples are presented to verify our main results.

Abstract:In this paper, using the theories and methods of ecology and ordinary differential equations, an ecological model with an impulsive control strategy and a distributed time delay is defined. Using the theory of the impulsive equation, small-amplitude perturbations, and comparative techniques, a condition is identified which guarantees the global asymptotic stability of the prey-(x) and predator-(y) eradication periodic solution. It is proved that the system is permanent. Furthermore, the influences of impulsive perturbations on the inherent oscillation are studied numerically, an oscillation which exhibits rich dynamics including period-halving bifurcation, chaotic narrow or wide windows, and chaotic crises. Computation of the largest Lyapunov exponent confirms the chaotic dynamic behavior of the model. All these results may be useful for study of the dynamic complexity of ecosystems.

Abstract:This paper concerns the dynamics of a stochastic regime-switching four-species food chain model with distributed delays, Lévy jumps and harvesting in a polluted environment. First, under some basic assumptions, criterions about stochastic persistence and extinction of each species are established. Then, sufficient and necessary conditions for the existence of optimal harvesting policy (OHP) are obtained, as well as the expressions for the optimal harvesting effort (OHE) and the maximum of expectation of sustainable yield (MESY). The effects of both environmental noises and delays on the stochastic persistence, extinction and OHP of the model are revealed. Some results on food chain models without telephone noises or distributed delays are extended and improved.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the effect of diffusion on the permanence and extinction of a non-autonomous nonlinear growth rate single-species dispersal model with time delays. Firstly, the sufficient conditions of the permanence and extinction of the species are established, which shows if the growth rate and dispersal coefficients is suitable, the species is permanent, on the contrary, it is extinction. Secondly, an interesting result is established, that is, if only the species in some patches even in one patch is permanent, then it is also permanent in other patches. Finally, some examples together with their numerical simulations show the feasibility of our main results.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the existence and global stability of the positive periodic solutions of delayed discrete food chains with omnivory. With the help of continuation theorem in coincidence degree theory and Lyapunov functions, some sufficient conditions are obtained. The results show that, for such a system with omnivory, more conditions are required for the persistence of the positive periodic solutions than that of a linear food chain. Abstract:The Lotka-Volterra model of interacting populations is useful in the design of competitive self-organizing systems and neural networks. This paper investigates the dynamical behavior of periodic Lotka-Volterra systems with general time delays. Some sufficient conditions independent of inputs and delays are obtained for the boundedness of trajectories and the global stability of nonnegative periodic solutions.
