Correlation between the expression of survivin and NF-κB in gastric cancer

Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression of survivin,NF-κB and their clinical significance in gastric cancer.Methods Steptative-peroxidase-biotin immunohistochemistry technique was used to detect the expression of survivin and NF-κB in sixty gastric carcinoma specimens,sixty gatric mucosa membrane adjacent tumor specimens and thirty normal gastric mucosa membrane specimens.Results There was a positive correlation between the positive expression of survivin and NF-κB in sixty gastric carcinoma specimens(r=0.443,P<0.05).The positive expression rate of survivin and NF-κB in gastric carcinoma was significantly higher than in mucosa membrane adjacent tumor and in normal gastric mucosa membrane(P<0.05,P<0.05);The positive expression rate of survivin and NF-κB in mucosa membrane adjacent tumor was higher than in normal gastric mucosa membrane(P<0.05).Conclusion The expression of survivin and NF-κB in gastric carcinoma tissues is much higher than that in mucosa membrane adjacent tumor and in normal gastric mucosa membrane which is weaker or no neuropilin-1 expression;It suggests that they may play an important role in gastric tumorigenesis and development.
